I know this issue has been posted before but there have been no fixes. So...
All my start menu icons have disappeared. I noticed this today but could have happened a few days ago. I'm using BSB Tweaks, and have reversed all settings that were changed but still no luck (after several soft resets).
The icons and files are still present in the Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder. Also, when I hit settings, all settings, the menu isn't showing.
Can anyone help with this? I really do not want to flash it again!
Same thing here... already happened something like 1 month ago, the only way to get it back was a hard reset, hope someone know another way. Isn't there any update to solve this issue?
I´m using a T-Mobile HD2, with the stock ROM.
EDIT: Another thing happened when the icons gone away, the phone does not rings anymore, no matter what.

Hi, guys.
All of a sudden, BT icon (the one that's located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen) just dissapeard :x I didn't install any new software, didn't perform a reset, or something like that, it just dissapeard for no obvious reason. Any ideas how I could get it back on the screen?
TIA,
Zeljac
it once did that to me a softreset got it back though
That was the first thing I tried but the situation is still the same
what if you go into settings->connections and choose bluetooth and change it from what ever it's set to and press ok
and maybe change it back again
If you have the last version of BTTools you can push in the new BT icon and, inmediately, make soft reset.
Of this form I have the old BT icon again.
Thanks a lot, mate. I did exactly what you told me, and the icon came back...
Tnx,
Zeljac
Ooops, here comes the problem again After gettin my BT icon back, I removed BTtools, and the icon dissapeard again. I tried the same trick again but with no results. So my question is open for your answers once again
I have the same problem, it was a day or two after I installed and removed GB-Soft Tweak, it went missing ... reinstalled the Tweak, after a few soft-reset, it's gone again until now. Do you have this Tweak installed?
Have you already tried to change \HKLM\Services\BTIcon\Keep or any of the other settings under this key?
Hope that helps
Matthias
Hmm, a very strange thing happend. I synced it another computer (the one that I sync to maybe once or twice a week) and after that the icon just came back. So far, it's still there. Hopefully, it will stay that way
Anyway, tnx for all your replies...
Btw, I don't have GB-Soft tweak installed, and I was just about to start playing with the registry when the icon just appeared again.
Greetings,
Zeljac
the value for that registry key (keep) was set to 1. so, I set it to 0, soft reset, still no sign of BT icon.
then i set it back to 1, soft reset ... BT icon came back on!
however, in the next reset ... it's gone. something is messing with it in the background.
I also need my BT icon back.. I-Mate ROM 1.72 Any help, please?
I had the same problem. Days ago I installed skin for the keyboard and mysteriously icon BT returned.

I think there may be a link between the missing BT icon and the number of Today plugins installed or events being processed at startup. I think it is an Operating System issue.
For example.
If I soft reset my unit I can get the BT icon to vanish.
If I then deselect any today plug in and soft reset again the BT icon re appears. However if I do not deselect a today plug in and soft reset the BT icon does not reappear.
So perhaps it is related to a timing of events on load when starting?
Ed
This could be a good clue. The timing on startup sounds like a good theory to the problem.
If you look in the registry under [HKLM/Services/BTIcon] there are some interesting keys named: Index, Keep, Order and Context.
Anyone know how these are used???
(The keys "Order" and "Index" seems most interesting)

Similar to what I have said but that thread says to uncheck every today plug in. I have found you don't need to do that. For me just unckecking a single plug is in enough.
I'm pretty sure it is a loading issue.

hiya guys,
after hard resetting my phone there was a small icon on the bottom right of the screen representing the battery power. Now for some reason its gone and i cant get it back. I have to goto settings and look up the power in there. Anyone no how to get this back or if there is an addon i can install to show battery power maybe on the top bar or on the today screen again?
Check your Startup folder to see if Init_Tray.exe is still present.
yeh init_tray.exe is still there, i have got the wifi icon there, just not power
I think the 02 software removes it I noticed the same thing last night
not much good anyway is it , I am happy with the one on the today screen (big one)
yeh problem is ive done a corporate install because its alot quicker without all that o2 stuff on it. Its just weird, coz its been like for like a week, and one day its just not there any more, cant work it out
Yes, if you check the o2 extended rom there's a cab just to remove the battery icon, because they stick one in the title bar instead I think. There's a registry setting that should help you get it back, but I can't recall it right now.

found out how to fix this just incase anyone else is havin this problem. If you goto file explorer and browse to the window directory, theres a program called powertray.exe, open this and there you, power bar back in the system tray
I have a small quirk on my HTC-PPC6800 running WM6.
I've had it for a month now, and I've pretty much got it configured how I want. I've got TCPMP (with some various files to help it along), QuickMenu, Clipboard Tool, and TotalCommander installed and running fine (and I believe that's the order I installed them). Then last night, I noticed that something changed if I received a text message or missed a phone call. Previously, the word "Calendar" changed to the word "Notifications", and I tapped on the word "Notifications" to see what call or text message I missed. Now, the word "Calendar" is still there, and the word "Notifications" blinks VERY quickly every second or so. It blinks too quickly to be able to tap and see the info behind it, so I have to actually open up the text messages or phone to see the missed text message or call. I've tried a couple of soft-resets, as well as turning the screen notifications off and then back on for text messages and the phone, but nothing changed.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? If so, were you able to remedy the blinking "Notifications," and have the word stay put as before? I know this is a relatively small issue, but I was so close to having the phone just perfectly set up and configured!!!
Many thanks in advance for your time!!!
i've been having that for a few days. the only thing i can say is i have installed quickmenu. i think it's the option that says "show on all titlebars" specifically. i did install cody's personalizer to rename sprint pcs to something else but i think it's quickmenu on my mogul causing the problem.
It almost sounds like the left softkey is messed up. I think Advanced Configuration Tool has the ablility to go in a configure the softkey. I would think you could install this and configure it back to default. You might also try disabling QuickMenu and see if it helps.

Here is the CAB file for Advanced Configuration tool.
Thanks for the replies, jened and dalvarez7!
And jened - you were right on the mark! It had everything to do with the "show on all titlebars" QuickMenu option. I turned that off, and the problem went away.
dalvarez7 - if I have any more issues, I'll definitely make use of that CAB file you attached!
Thanks again to the BOTH of you!!!
Finally Fixed Notification Flashing
Thanks guys, this was a huge issue for me, but I couldn't ever find out what was causing it, so I did a hard reset last night and began reloading everything and found the QuickMenu was causing the problem. Before, all my searches on the forum for this problem had to do with "Notification Flashing" or "Reminder Flashing", but since I didn't use the word blinking or know it was QuickMenu causing the problem, I never found this thread. When I found it was QuickMenu causing the problem, I found this thread and now have QuickMenu back with proper notifications/reminders. Thanks guys!!!
I am experiencing a rather frustrating problem here. When I change the volume in HTC's audiomanager, it appears a grey column on the left side of the screen (see pic) instead of the green overlay in the middle of the screen as it should be.
What is the problem here and how can I solve this? IMHO, there is a PNG missing. But where do I find that PNG and where should that be stored on my device?
I just found another user with the same problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5028797&postcount=192
It seems that by installing A_Brians WM6.5 Taskbar gfreek edition, I did change HTCVolumeControl.dll.
I will try to change it back to the original DLL.
OK, I have reinstalled the original DLL from the ROM using SKTools, after changing HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\OverlayUI from 0 to 1 the grey column has disappeared, but the overlay stays also disapeared.
I'm having the same problem. I think it has something to do with the custom taskbar you have installed. I installed a custom taskbar myself and it caused my music volume graphic to disappear too. I beleive it has something to do with HTCVolumeControl.dll which has been changed. I re-installed it but it made no difference. If anyone has a solution to this, it would be much appreciated.
Happy New Year!!
*EDIT* Snap! It looks like you found the problem at exactly the same time I posted this. Spooky!!!! If you find a solution to the problem, please post it here. Thanks.
Well I simply gave up after long horus of REG tweaking and changing files from the ROM and from the internet to get it back.
I hard resetted the Phone yesterday and voila, the volume overlay is back. It's an awfully dirty procedure, because I spent half of the night and a few hours today to get all Programs and Settings back. Unfortunately I had only backed up the whole system (including that overlay problem), so the backup was not very helpful at all.
I remember reading, I think its to do with that taskbar you have installed, I had it and had the same problem, now I dont (hard resetted) and my music bar is sorted
I uninstalled the taskbar. No change.
Then I tried to get HTCVolumeControl.DLL back from ROM, no change.
I treid to install a HTCVolumeControl.DLL from the Internet, no change. Well, there was a change here. I had WM Volume control suddenly. You know, the black and white control bars at the top right corner we all remeber from WM5.
Then I gave up.
Hi all,
Ive got a really annoying issue with my phone, when installing updates for a couple of shortcuts Ive got on the home screen tab, the original version got uninstalled and now the shortcut block I had them in is permanently disabled. Nothing on there, it doesnt launch anything and when I try to add a program in there just nothing happens.
Has anybody else had this issue and/or know of a way to sort this problem out?
I've had this issue, and the only one solution was hard reset of the phone. Sorry..
Check the regisrty at HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Home.
There you will find the settings for the QuickLinks.
You might change/delete settings to re-enable editting your links.
Sorry I'm an amateur -.- How do I get there?

You might use the search on top of this page and type "registry editor" in there
You could try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=327813&d=1274135081
It resets sense to its default values.
Hope this helps you
