Hello all,
I thought it was interesting to make a thread wich keeps track of all the *_manila files of HTC Sense (Manila) and a little description of what they all do. As I don't know what every file does (actually I don't know anyone), I'll need some help to make this list complete!
@Mods: I don't know if this is the right place, I think it is.
@Mods2: If this thread actually IS interesting, can you make it sticky? Thanks!
And here is the list of all _manila files I have on my HD Mini.

Greetings,
MadMatt
It is easy, grab some Manila kitchen, dump it and you'll see, there are mainly four types:
- Mode9 - contain animations, scenes, design and so on
- Lua - scripts, adding action, releasing animations, ....
- XML - 99% of those are simply languages
- QTC - images, encoded to ATI Imageon native image format, they are passed directly to GPU (while PNG would have to be converted and thus it would be slower)
Also some other manila kitchens allow you to simply decode the 123asd456_manila filename into original filename, because these 123asd456 is hashed original path. And with enough searching and digging it can be found back in the Lua and Mode 9 files .
Just import manila files into cfc gui: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798 and look there, what they're for?
Thanks! But wouldn't this list be useful to do minor modifications to Manila so you don't need a Manila kitchen? Or just if someone wants to do something small, he or she just can find what file he/she should edit?
Keep this open or not?
he has to get some kind of Manila kitchen anyway, qtc needs to be converted to png first to be able to do some modifications at all. Lua needs to be decompiled first too. Mode9 is way more readable in its decompiled XML too, so getting a kitchen is needed anyway I think

Cant u make it into a .theme file please?
the manilla files wont work for me
please make .theme file
Hey Guys....
The Manila files are overwritten now...
Next question: 040c is france... thats Quite good. But what which number is for german?
Please, make the .theme file so it can be installed using Diamond TF3D Tweak application, and safely removed, if needed, with original manilla files being restored.
This would be great as the theme is a cool one
Looks realy..............dirty.........
Yes.Please make the File to included with TF3D Tweak Tool.
Thx I66Y
why not making a .cab file? so EVERYONE can use this lovely theme, not only the ones using tf3d config.
would you mind providing another mirror?...i can't access megauploads from where i am !
I agree, link is not working at least now.
Thanks for your work!
Gonzalo
Hmm
Just Zip the manila files and renema it from Dirtypaper03.zip to Dirtypaper03.theme and it will work
040c is france... but wich code is for German? Help Please!
Missing screenshot or is somewhere??
I cannot figure out how to make this work either. I am using TF3D config.

I don't understand why people post before reading? 99% of the time the answers are already in the thread!
It says it 3 posts above...
Rename the .zip to a .theme file and then use TF3D config.
..and I don't understand why people keep on making .theme-files instead of .cab-files
those theme-files can only be used by people having installed the tf3d config app. I can't see any advantage in using .theme-files with this tool compared to a cab-file.
so please, dear theme creators, make cab files (too). most of the themes are so brilliant, really everyone should be able to value up their diamonds with your themes, not only a (small) group of people using a special tool.
I have searched exhaustively for the (NOT transparent!) blue flip clock that is included in the stock AT&T Tilt2 ROM (seen below), with no results.
If there's anyone on XDA who has it, or has the capability of extracting it/cabbing it up (or can even instruct me as to how to extract it myself, as I am trying to learn the art of ROM cooking myself, and have some tools available ), I would be quite appreciative!
Thanks in advance! Any questions, see my sig.

If anyone has it i'd like it too!
Look for a flip clock cab. and see what files are included in there. now go to your windows directory and look for those files and copy them and paste to you sd card so you can extract them.
Hope this helps.
I copied all of the "*_manila" files from the Windows folder. I used CFC_GUI to get the file names and copied them to the attached folder. I am by no means an expert, but I have made some themes for TF3D for myself. To the extent of my knowledge, these should be the only graphic files for the original flip clock. They came from AT&T's 6.5 ROM with TF3D 2.1. Hope these are what you are looking for.
I have an Energy rom flashed with manila 2.5, so would that folder still work on my phone?
No because it's for Sense 2.1.
I copied over all the files and it didn't do anything to anything lol. Was hoping to use the clock too .
Is it possible to make a look alike clock for the Sense 2.5? I can design the images, but would need to see how they could be installed.
2.5 version

Here is a shot at the 2.5 version with transp background
Thank you very much. That was what I was looking for as well. I made a wallpaper based on the stock Tilt 2. I just needed to match the clock.
I'm running the Energy Cookie 23xxx ROM. I changed out the wallpaper on all portrait and landscape screens. I just loaded your clock and it looks perfect.
Thanks again!
Man I sure wish they had that for the droid Incredible...I love those colors.
I have attached the InboxEntender cab that can be found in these forums. I am trying to cook it in to my ROM. The cab file just contains the dll - no reg entries. The dll is set to self-register. If you run the cab after install or even as part of the customization it works fine. I would just like to cook it in if possible. I have tried including it in the build using the convert cab -> EXT function and even converting the dll to a module, both with no success.
Can anyone help me cook this file in. I am using osKitchen to build a Rhodium - or Tilt 2 more specifically - ROM.
Thanks,
cj
Get SK Tracker. Take a snapshot, install the cab, take another snapshot, and then compare them. Export the new registry keys and put them in an app.reg in an EXT with the module.

Here's your EXT package.
Don't just give it to him, for crying out loud! You must've heard the one about giving a guy a fish vs. teaching him to fish. He'll never learn anything if you give him the fish.
Farmer Ted is right but I really appreciate the package Cloudyfa.
I had already compared the registry before and after the install and was not successful. I think that the needed keys were hard to see because the install required a softreset and that in itself changes a bunch of keys.
I was not using (or aware of) SKTracker though and that looks like a better option than what I was using. So thanks to both of you. I am going to try to recreate the package so that I can do it next time. But it is nice to see the answer to check my work.
Thanks again.
cj
just to add, u can open the SafeInboxMenuExtensibility.dll using (text) editor in Unicode encoding & u will see the registry root keys u need to export after cab installation.

1. Question: What is a PSD File?
Did you find a PSD file on your computer and wonder what program should open it? Maybe someone emailed you a PSD file but you're not sure how to use it. Perhaps you tried to open the PSD file but Windows told you that it could not open it.
Before you can open a PSD file (assuming it's even a file format that's intended to be viewed or edited), you'll need to determine what kind of file the .PSD file extension refers to.
Answer: A file with the PSD file extension is an Adobe Photoshop Document file.
Other types of files may also use the PSD file extension. If you know of any additional file formats that use the .PSD extension, please let me know so I can update this information.
2. Question : How To Open a PSD File ?
Answer : The easiest way to open a PSD file is to double-click on it and let your PC decide which default application should open the file. If no program opens the PSD file then you probably don't have an application installed that can view and/or edit PSD files.
