Its always good to have people , like the ones who are complaining about other people. People who knows everything and are (they think) " experts" in stuff like this. Not everybody is like you guys.............. thats why there is a form like this. And sometimes i read stupid questions. But complaining hmmmm.....no i dont do that. Everybody is learning just like the real experts did one day. They real experts are people who are invest time and effort in to hack things like the wildfire. We got luck There is a chance that the drivers for the htc hd2 are maybe inside. Since In a lot of windows phone 7 commercials you saw the hd2 so lets hope it is gonna work. Ok.. it is htc mondrian but still a little chance.
Does anybody know how likely it is that someone will be able to port this for the HD2?
I mean, from what I've read it seems to be quite different from 'just' porting a regular WinMo ROM from another HTC device... I'd like to be wrong but I 'd be surprised to see this working on the HD2 any time soon.
I wonder if we will see a release from Tom_codon, now we have a leak. Looking forward to the devs having a go at this one.

I'd say its very likely that it won't boot out of the box due to bootloader stuff..but who can tell

You should go to the "Ideos X5 U8800 Android Development" section here on xda..
yes this phone can be rooted easy with z4root and there are some custom ROMs out already, like the b160. CM6.1 and CM7 has been booted but not everything is working yet, soon i hope

Overclocking can be done with setCPU, but first you need a rooted phone and an overclock kernel, there are some in the Android development section here:

As the multiple forum sticky topics suggest, it's always a good idea to use the search facility to find what you're looking for.
Rooting is easily accomplised using Super One-Click Root.
You'll need to install the Clockwork Recovery Mod in order to install any custom ROMs.
I, and many others, use Stockwell's B160-based Custom ROM, with great results.
Very straightforward, but you do need to make sure you follow absolutely every step of the process precisely, and always triple-read everything before you do it.

theres no official statement concerning android 2.3 support, and thats why the word "theoretically' comes into play..
concerning the "best" support site, i would say HERE..
if not now, it will be sooner or later..
(other than here several sites in china r also playing important parts currently, but given that u do not understand chinese, they will not be very useful to u anyway..)

If we have cm7, touchwiz 4 will be simple to port (I think ^^).
There is some necessary files (.so) wich aren't compatible with froyo, only with gingerbread. Maybe we can wait a little...
