[BUG?] Email App Notification problem.. - Nexus One General

Hi guys,
i want to know if anyone has the same problem that i have. I'm using my N1 with my corporate email with Zimbra 6.0. When I mark a message read, the notification bar still present unreal message and I need to pull down the bar and clear the notification to stop trackball blink.
With 3rd party apps this doesn't happen.. RoadSync and TouchDown, when I mark message read on my PC, clear automatically the notification from the bar (and the trackball stop blink!).
Anyone has the same problem? Maybe the AS integration of Zimbra is a bit different from Microsoft Native AS and case this little problem.
Thank you!

I've been pointing out this issue on a couple boards for months. Good luck with a stock solution.

Disable notifications?

I have to wade through so many notification messages every time I switch on my phone, its so annoying and there's no apparant way to stop them. Right infront of me, we have email notifications, sms notifications, alarm notifications, calendar notifications, and a battery warning notification! arrggh!! I can't access the calendar hardware button without clearing all these notifications first.
So, into 'sound and notification' settings and disable them right?
Wrong. It doesn't seem to make any difference. I've gone through each event such as 'Messaging: New email message', and 'Messaging: New text message', etc, and taken the tick out of 'display message on screen' but still I can't access the hardware button on the today screen without clearing the notifications first.
The search criteria required for answers to this problem online is too vague, you just hit on other subjects regarding notifications that are nothing to do with this. Can anyone offer some suggestions?
Thanks.

Which ROM are you running?
RE: annoying notifications
I couldnt agree more!
This happens with every ROM i have used including 2003, wm5 and now wm6 black 3.5.
The one I really want to get rid of is the battery low notifications.
Jees, it drives me mad.
Surely just altering a reg key?? I did a search in there but wasnt sure exactly where to look!
Hi, I'm having the same issue. I want to get rid of the missed call notification messages that pop up all the time. The missed call icon is enough, I don't need the message as well! It's very frustrating.
it's the notification queue
..and it's a known issue. hard reset will definitely cure it, or you could use scarybear's "check notifications" or similar to clear it.
I really hate the low battery warning icon nagging me when 40% of battery is still left!! help !

notifications coming back

Hi,
When I receive e.g. an sms, I select the "remove notifications" button in the notification bar on the top... works fine but when a few hours later I open the sms-application I suddenly again get the same notification
It seems like the phone notices that I haven't "read" (opened) the text message yet...
Kinda silly especially for short messages that you can read directly in the notification bar.
Anyone else has this problem?
Cheers
B
well its actually not a problem for me, like you said unless you open the message the notification will keep coming.
so just open it i guess, its no big deal. i just did it in 1.5 seconds...

Clearing the message in from the notification bar only clears the message from the notification bar not mark it as read. You can change the settings in the messaging app if you want. Or if you want a pop up use 'SMSpopup' from the market.

[Q] SMS text in notication bar

Hi guys, hope you can help!
Basically the embarrassing situation has occurred a few times now when I'm showing my friends some features of the DHD a personal text comes in which was meant for my eyes only, however the first two lines of it are displayed in the notification bar when it arrives.
Surely there's a way to stop this from happening!?
Cheers!

If you're using HTC stock messaging app then there is no way to stop it. A solution would be to use messaging apps from the market like Handcent SMS and the likes. It will give you the ability to pop the notification but does not show the content.
I've just had a friend ask me this as well. Wanting just a notification sound and icon rather than disclosing the sender or the message body on the lock screen or in the notification bar.
I've got a DHD and don't mind if people see what i'm receiving, even to the degree that i've installed an app called ChompSMS which brings up a window on the homescreen displaying the full message.
I had a fiddle with the ChompSMS settings and it seems that you can increase the privacy settings to make it anonymise the notification, however as soon as you unlock the phone it will still show the full text in a window - I only fiddled a little bit, but couldn't find a way of disabling this without losing other features.
I uninstalled ChompSMS (for the purposes of this experiment) and had a look round at the generic (HTC) messaging settings and it seems like it's all or nothing, as soon as you turn off the 'received notification' option it greys out the options below it, meaning that you get no notification whatsoever when someone messages you (except for the green circle on the messaging widget - if you have this on your homepage).
I'm going to try installing Handcent (another popular messaging app) to see if I can make it do exactly what my friend wants done. I'll message back if I manage it.
Mike.

[Q BUG] Google voice notifications

Anyone else have the issue that the GV notification will not go away from the notification bar if you open the message from there? Seems you have to open the actual app itself to get it to clear from a new message.
And also, unlike Gmail, it doesnt clear if you check a message from the web. That one really kills me.
This happen to anyone else?
It has been like that for months now. Google doesn't give that app much attention.

[Q] Mark mail as Read from the lockscreen ?

Hi,
is there an easy way on Android 4.3 (or with an application), to have a 2-3 lines preview of mail received and mark it as read from the lockscreen ?
I receive many emails during the day and it is too fastidious to have to unlock the phone, go to the mail application and mark mail as read.
I have tried NiLS and Dashlock but it doesn't do this.
Thank you
You're looking for an application that supports this. I don't know any, but some allow you to mark the email as read from the notification, you could just drag down the notification bar. If you can't do that (lockscreen security), there's an Xposed module that allows you to see the notification panel even when the phone is locked.
Also, FN (there may be other similar apps) can show you notification bubbles on the lockscreen, and allows you to choose quick actions.

Thank you for your answer.
Which application can let me mark an email as read from the notification bar please ? (that should be a great solution if, by swaping, I can mark mail as read.
Thanks

CloudMagic is the most recent one I've used that does (no swapping, you just press a "Mark Read" button in the notification).

Oh you don't know an app that modifies the notification center without having to use a third party mail application ?
I really dont like to use a third party mail app as many time, it acts like a proxy and can have a copy of your inbox or your password.
Thank you

No, the application would have to support it itself, nothing to do with the "notification center".
