updated to 2.2, now camera doesnt work - Epic 4G General

I took the plunge to the DK28, and now I cannot use my camera. I keep getting a "closed unexpectedly" message that disappears after a quick second, and my camera function will not open.
Also, I am getting the same message from my music player app- "The application Music Player (process com.android.music) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and there is a Force close message you have to click to exit the message
any suggestions ??

will 2.2 still be on it ??

Factory default is clearing data in CWM. So; use the three button method to boot into recovery and clear data.

thanks guys, did the factory reset and I got the camera back
lost all my contacts and phone numbers though.....

Conacts Force Closing

Whenever i try to add any contact to my phone, when i go down and press done, or even press back, It says "Sorry, the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again."
Does anyone else have this issue, or know a solution?
thanks.
Wipe and reflash your ROM. Backup everything first.
Is that the only solution ?
no. it cannot be the ONLY solution as I have the same issue and have done that no less than 20x
well i just installed a new rom and i no longer have a problem

ODIN back to EC05 and update to EL30 via the OTA updates. Also, this is better for the Q&A section.

What is the exact error you are getting? When I tried to update, I had an error 7 because of the system/vendor/bin/gpsd did not have a matching md5. That was because I had applied the GPS_fix.zip which changed the gpsd file. After replacing that file with the original from EI22, was able to reapply the EL30 update via CWM and it worked fine.
I tried to go back to EC05 now is just bricked I could only go on Downloading mode SMH

It seems to me I have no luck is there anyway i could grab it and put that installation myself
Were you able to Odin to EC05, after complete run the OTA update? If not, do that first. Or you can try adelmundos solution.
Also what rom were you previously on? Stock?
There are several EL30 packages (ODIN, Heimdall and CWM) in the dev forums for you to choose from.
I already installed the EL30 the only problem i have now is every time someone calls me I get this "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again " and I can't answer or pick up

A known issue
After having the EL30 update installed my phone is behaving very strangely... Mainly, I can't answer incoming calls! Each time a call comes in my phone rings but an error message immediately pops up saying some application "com.android...?" is being forced to close. What the heck?!

I did it like 5 to 6 times Im tired of it Im just going to stay on EI22 and find me a good rom
Finally found the glitch
The device team and Samsung have identified a scenario with "reject call with message" that will cause this force close issue. If you have more than 5 “reject call with message” messages set up, you may have the force close issue. A “reject call with message” message is the message that you can send via text when you choose to reject an inbound phone call. The default number of messages is 5; if there are more than 5 custom messsages the force close condition will occur.
This issue will be fixed in the next software update. As a temporary fix, delete the messages from the “reject call with message” message list.
To do this, go to Menu > Settings > Call settings > Reject with message. You will see the complete list of available messages and you need to ensure it contains no more than 5 entries. If the list contains more than 5, choose the menu key and select “delete”. You should see a select option box next to each message. Check the box next to the message that should be removed and select 'delete' one last time.
Hi, I realize this issue has been resolved (for you) -- just wanted to post my fix, as I was having the same problem but this wasn't the culprit.
I had frozen 'SNS' in Titanium Backup after reading some freezing posts; unfreezing it solved my force closes!
Hopefully this will help someone who stumbles across this post as I did
I had a similar issue with force closes from com.android.phone when a call came in.
I used Titanium Backup to wipe data from Phone, PhoneCrashNotifier, and PhoneUtil, and then used ROM Manager to do a permissions fix. Cleared it right up.

[Q] Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I've looked everywhere for an answer and i cannot find one,
I have a rooted Nexus 4 with Franco Kernel and Xylon ROM on giffgaff
Whenever i receive a call i cannot answer it because this message shows up and i have to click 'OK' which hangs up, also at the end of outbound calls it shows this message.
This message only occurs when i call/ get called.
I have tried clearing the data from 'Phone' with no avail, also updated my ROM and Kernel. I have reset my Mobile Networks/Access Point Names to default but still this problem occurs. I will be grateful if anyone help and fixes this, Thanks
Hi, I had this problem too and searching around I found a solution that fixed this problem twice for me:
Go to settings -> applications -> all and go to Phone. Clear data & clear cache. Do the same thing with Phone/Messaging Storage apk. You will loose your contacts but it fixed it.
I have my phone contacts sync with my google account so in 10 secs my address book was back and no more "process" problem.
Apparently some kind of corrupted contact causes this, so every time the phone tries to access your contacts and match the phone number, the process crashes.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Ive cleared the Phone data but Phone/Messaging Storage is all blanked out so i cannot click on it? :/ Any ideas?

Were you able to clear your address book? In the end it seems that is what fixes it. Try to delete all your contacts and reboot. Than you can tell if it helps. As far as I know, the next option is to factory reset. That's what I did the first time I got the error, but later it came back because of some bad contact. And if you do that test it by calling yourself from another phone before adding contacts.

I have cleared all my contacts manually and rebooted the phone but still it comes up with the message, Im thinking that i need to clear the data from Phone/Message Storage but i probably clicked force stop on it before and i need to 'Start' it again.
I would just factory reset and flash the rom again.
Honestly i havent got a clue what happened but i did a factory reset and my custom Kernel and ROM were still there and i tried calling myself and it fixed it, somehow :/ Thanks guys

Redownload and reflash the ROM including Gapps, if it still doesn't work then try a different ROM. Make sure you re-download the ROM though, since you may be getting this error due to corruption that occurred when it was downloaded.
Edit:
Oh you fixed it. Never mind.
There's a chance my error started because I flashed the. 33 radio after the ROM and gapps. The correct way is first the radio, than RoM, than gapps. I don't know if that's your case, but be aware of that.
have this occasionally on cm10.1 flashing different nightlies.

This problem is mainly caused by corrupt or incompatible APN predefined settings. Try clearing all of them and just using the one you need.
To speed up the process, navigate closing the error as many times as required to the apn list, and once in the list, toggle airplane mode ON, that will stop the force close to show up, now delete all the entries, and toggle off airplane mode.

First thank you for the fast response.
I have just updating my rom (from cm 10 to cm 10.1) and when the system starts after the end of booting the error appears.
I have activated the airplane mode and no changes the error is continuing and when I go to settings --> the press on more in networks it says: "unfortunately the process com.android.settings has stopped".

Unfortunately Phone has stopped

Hello everyone,
I woke up this morning and my phone, not flashed or messed with has this annoying error "unfortunately phone has stopped" and it won't go away, i keep pressing OK but it comes right back(less than a second). I went to application manager and stopped all 3 "Phone" icons under all applications and cleared data. I have a galaxy s5, Can anyone please help me with this issue? I don't get incoming calls or anything.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks
Try each step, and move on to the next if first step doesn't work.
1- Turn off the phone and pull the battery
2- boot to recovery and clear cache
3- boot to recovery and clear cache and factory reset ( back up your apps and files!)
4- download stock firmware and flash via Odin or just install Samsung kies3 and do a fresh ROM install (erases everything, backup first)

I had a similar thing happen to me today. Clearing the cache did not help. What helped, which I came about by chance, was to click OK and immediately open the PHONE app. BTW, I have the galaxy S5 running Lollipop.

Thanks for the tip! I had the EXACT same problem tonight with my stock T-Mobile Galaxy S5 running Lollipop. T-Mobile Support went straight to the Factory Reset card, which I didn't want to do, so I tapped OK to dismiss the message and then quickly tapped the phone app to start it up before the message came back. So far, the message hasn't returned.
I'm seeing lots of reports of this error in a lot of forums, most of them occurring in the past few days. I'm wondering if there's been an update or something causing this problem. It seems to crop up on different devices and different carriers.

Thanks immensely

I had this when I woke up this morning and couldn't do anything at all as it pops back up before I lift my finger from the OK button.
Managed to finally get the phone icon clicked and the phone app opened behind the stupid error dialog- pressed OK again and actually get to use my phone now!
Thanks so much!
