It came with ClockworkMod recovery and CyanogenMod 6.0 installed. The phone is very unresponsive and very unstable especially if not rebooted every ~5 hours.
Since Vodafone have released an official 2.2 update I was hoping to move to this. However there is no backup of the stock install in clockworkmod and from my Googling it seems removing clockworkmod and getting back to factory settings is not possible or very difficult. Am I right in this assumption?
If so is there anywhere I can download the official Vodafone update and install it via clockworkmod?
If not can anyone give suggestions on more responsive/stable roms for this model of handset?
Use rom manager and try to find a nandroid back up
Or from rom manager you can flash tmobile 3g rom official 2.2.
I flashed it and worked fine.
You can find this rom around. Check is available for your model just in case.

Hi. I have a htc magic 32A, and the only guide I found for unrooting the magic is for the mytouch 3G. So, let's suppose that someone did a nandroid backup before updating to a rooted hero rom. Does the root goes away by doing nandroid restore, or will there be OTA updates?
And if there isn't nandroid backup available, is there a original 32A rom, that will make the phone unrooted and supports OTA updates?
Using the rooted official ota froyo update with ezterry's cm6 kernel. The one in my sig.
I've been on the new spl ever since the first half of my ota update succeeded and the second half failed.
Just now I flashed the new radio and boot-looped. If I flash to 23.02 am I in danger?
Hi All,
I have a 32B Magic on Vodafone in the UK.
I've been using CM6 on it for a while but when I heard about the official 2.2 update from vodafone I decided to try it out.
Using ClockworkMod I backed up CM6 and then restored my backup of my stock ROM which was 1.6.
After a while I received the 2 OTA updates without issue and am now on the official vodafone 2.2 release. I had a bit of bother re-rooting and flashing clockworkmod recovery but I managed it in the end and backed up my new shiney.
The problem is that I now seem to be stuck on stock ROMs.
I tried to restore my CM6.0 ROM but it hung on the vodafone spash, so I thought it must be a corrupt backup.
I re-flashed CM6.0 thinking it would cure it but got the same problem.
I downloaded and flashed CM6.1, same again.
How can I load these custom ROMS again?

I'm using CWM Recovery v2.5.0.7
I followed the instructions to a "T" and am confused as to the kernel that I am supposed to flash if it still won't boot as per the instructions. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! :cyclops:
