[Q] can we turn notification 'vibrate' off ? - Galaxy Tab General

My email and sms notifications vibrate and i cant seem to find a way to stop it
got call vibrate off via menu/settings/sound settings. Vibrate-Never
is there a way to permently disable it?

Is there anybody out there?

My tab can completely switch off the vibrate for either call and notification. There is no way with stock rom to switch the vibrate mode for notification seperately. You should use third party apps to do so.

email/sms LED & vibrate notifications broken?

Hi everyone, has anyone been able to get working email and sms LED notifications working with handcent and k9? Also when i switch the phone into vibrate mode by turning the volume all the way down the phone does not vibrate for any type of notifications even though they are enabled in handcent and k9. I'm rooted with the latest updates but that is all. The LED's only seem to work when showing charging status.
Make sure they're on
Settings> Sound & display> Notification flash
When you put the phone volume all the way down you get silent mode, not vibrate. Download the HTC Profile widget and you can easily switch between "normal", "silent" and "vibrate".

[Q] epic will not vibrate w/ new texts

when i have my phone on vibrate it does so with calls but not on texts even though i turned on the option under the settings for texts. i also tried audiomanager which doesnt seem to work either.
anyone else having this problem and is there a way to fix it?
Annoying as it is, the vibrate for incoming texts is controlled separately from the ringer volume. Meaning that if you turn on vibrate, it will always vibrate even if your phone isn't set to vibrate.
Menu -> Settings -> Vibrate from the text thread list.
My solution is to use the Tasker app to vibrate the phone when I receive a text on the condition that variable %SILENT = vibrate.
What I'm trying to say is that even when I go to settings and vibrate under text menu it doesn't vibrate on texts. I may give that app a try.

I started having this problem a few days ago and just solved it. I'm using Handcent for SMS, and even though my phone was set to vibrate, and Handcent notifications were set to vibrate, suddenly all of my notifications (Handcent and otherwise) stopped vibrating. Vibrate still worked on calls. I simply downloaded the free app "Sound Manager" from the Market and went to Vibrate from the Menu. For some reason Vibrate for Notifications was set to "Never". Not sure how, since I don't think there's a setting for this in the stock settings on the Epic, but I changed it and now vibrate works on all notifications again.
To me this is easier than setting something up in Tasker (though Tasker is way cool).
Sweet! Thanks so much its finally working now...

Stock Message Vibrate

Ok, I know it should be easy.. but how the hell do i turn off the vibrate function with the stock message app? tried going through the menu and no option there...
it's driving me a bit potty... any help?
Do you mean the vibration you get when writing a message or when you recieve a message?
I can't give you a direct answer as I don't have the phone yet, however if there isn't a setting that enables you to remove the vibration, I used an application on the marketplace called Streak Vibrations (requires root) that globally disables and enables vibration on the phone. Worked wonders on my old Atrix.

when receiving a message
I believe that you just have to disable the vibration for notifications to disable it for the message app. Running stock I do not believe that you can pick and choose what notifications get to vibrate. More of an all or nothing type deal.
Now if you root thats a different story, not to mention once some custom roms start rolling out
Settings > Sound > under general, select Vibration then select never. Vibration alerts will still work for Gmail notifications if you have it set that way in the Gmail app.

Phone Wont stop Vibrating.

Even when I sent the phone to NEVER vibrate if I go to volume settings and minimize all sounds to have no sounds and have the phone vibrate settings set to never.
The phone will still vibrate when I recieve a text.
It wont vibrate on an incoming call or email.
How can I get this phone to not make a sound when I truely want it on silent mode.
If I put it on silent mode then alarms and media have sound and I dont want that either.
Does anyone have any solutions Im on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130117
Is there an apk I can download or something.
What app are you using for Messaging? If its Handcent you need to go into that app's settings to disable vibrating on incoming texts, one thing is adjusting the settings on your phone, but apps miraculously have their own settings, and act upon themselves.
If its the stock app, its in the settings at the very bottom.

I never even knew these settings existed.
Thanks alot!

Per app vibration settings completely broken

Has anyone been able to get this to work? What I want is for Gmail and GoogleHangouts *NOT* to vibrate, but I *do* want a vibration for notifications from SMS. It seems to be that the system ignores my settings within each app, and instead always vibrates.
