I've tried a number of the newer NAND builds posted, each obviously has minor quirks and issues, what I am wondering is how to differentiate the email client in each build ahead of time (and perhaps the rom cookers themselves can?) or more importantly for me, if the build can support multiple activesync accounts or not?
love the amazing work everyone is doing
thanks
I have a question too. If even YOU thought that this was a stupid "QUESTION" then why did you post it in development? Shouldn't you have put this in the forum I had created specifically for questions?
Thread moved.
Post it in Q&A.
Cheers
EDIT: thanks dharvey
Please specify which build you are using / want to use.
"what I am wondering is how to differentiate the email client in each build ahead of time"
what you mean?
I've tried 2 CyanogenMod builds (no multiple activesync accounts possible), the original DFT Android ROM for HTC LEO, and currently using MDJ_Revolution_HD_v._2.2_NAND.
obviously the HTC based ones have sense and cyan does not (so different email clients) but so far the Revolution HD seems to be the only one that supports multiple activesync accounts out of the ones that I have tried.

I have a branded HTV magic Vodafone, but for business use, i want to have the same Mail AND Calendar (exchange syncable) as the HTC branded version. I tried a lot of ROM's but always the same effect, no exchange syncing with my Calender, Mail is no problem. i also tried to install loose calander.apk's but my HTC keeps saying that it not competible with my system.
the best thing i tried is installing an original HTC rom, but that is based on a 32A and offcourse i have the 32B. does anyone has a solution to this problem?
did you try searching?
several posts down on this very page is alla's rom, which specifically states in the thread title that it supports full exchange syncing.

Creating a user and then posting without having read the rules, searched or made a single though about posting in the DEVELOPMENT forum, which is not meant for questions unless they really are tied to something you are developing, debug data or something else that will help in some way.

Sorry!
But i searched and rearched, and alleady tried about twelfve different rom's all with the same effect. i turned to the developpers because i hoped that there whas someone who could help me with my problem. the purpouse is to have a rom setup so i can use the branded version in my business, without an agenda thast syncs with exchange, the thing is useless.
Using the email client, is there any way to move email from the inbox to another folder?
I was thinking the same thing... I may have to install K9..
Double post
Hmm.. never noticed that. I only use mail for my work exchange account and I prefer to sort/move messages on a full computer when at work anyway. Even so, I can see where others might find it useful but I too couldn't find a way to do it.
I know this is an older post, but I thought I would post here instead of starting a new thread.
I just flashed Onyx from Team Whiskey earlier today and to my surprise, the regular email client supports Move To Folder. I love it. Have been searching for this feature ever since I made the move to Android. It was the one reason I started learning how to root and flash to begin with.
Just wanted to give Team Whiskey from props.
Since any of the custom 2.2 ROMs came out the email client wont connect to Yahoo any more For the first time it downloads emails, next time it says password incorrect. It happened to me after Obsidian V2 as well as V3. So now usng Maildroid. It supports move to other folders.
The last two 2.2 ROM's I used had issues, but all could move an email between folders in my Exchange account. However after upgrading to CyanogenMod 7.1 this is gone. Anyone have a 2.3 ROM that has this functionality? I don't want to download touchtown just for this basic functionality.
Hi,
Complete Android noob! Im thinking of getting an android phone, moving from many years of Windows mobile but i now have a need for multiple exchange/activesync accounts (two jobs, both with Exchange!)
If i move to Android, i think i want the Legend simply because it looks and feels better built, but i guess a Desire would also do. The problem is, i've read that while Android (2.1 maybe, 2.2 definelty) supports multiple Exchange mailboxes, the HTC Sense removes the ability. Is this true, and is there anyway of restoring it? Can i get Sense off and revert to pure Android without 'rooting' it or doing anything else that could theoretically make it less reliable?
If anybody does use multiple Exchange profiles, can you tell me how it handles the different calendars and contact lists? does it keep them separate or does it all end up merged together and then sync'd back to each Exchange server?
Sorry for the questions, especially if its the wrong forum, but i want to get this right as the phone is going to be fairly critical for both jobs (and i keep being told an iPhone can do everything i want, but i dont want to got that way!)
Reading my German Vodafone Legends' Manual it says: "...only one Exchange Account...". I don't care about this as I need only one and - I use Nitrodesk's Touchdown Exchange client which not only supports more than one Exchange account but is overall much better than Android's client. Huge feature list, perfect widgets (from third party collaboration), great support (check out their google group). Started using TD more than a year ago and coming from WM too I can say TD is perfect and is worth the money. They have a 30 day trail in the market. Maybe you give it a try (or just study their documents as you don't have a phone already)?
Cheers,
Derek.
Thanks for this. The feature list looks good, so i'll give it a try
Its such as shame that Sense kills the ability to have multiple accounts though.
Sorry, I had posted this question earlier today in the HD2 Q&A forum (not here):
Hello all:
I have 2 exchange accounts at work that I need to get on my phone. From what I have seen in the Android ROMs that I have tried (3 so far), I cannot configure more than 1 Exchange account in Mail. Is this a general limitation, am I missing the way to do it, or is there a ROM out there that allows for this. I don't think it is a FroYo limitation, since I have my 2 exchange accounts configured and syncing on my Dell Streak.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Fernando
Go through my topics I posted an old email.apk that works on sense build for exchange. The stock email.apk is known to have problems with some security policies (like windows live). Which this apk supposed allows. (works with ny hotmail when no other will on exchange)
Sent from my Mytouch HD2
There seems to be a common problem is most roms that I have used where i set-up my hotmail exchange the emails do not sync, the results vary sometimes the emails dont appear or sometimes the is an issue with the "synchronisation key"

I"m having no issues on mine with this HD2ONE Nand build.
So take your discussion/question to the correct forum, this is for posting development and related projects etc, not for discussions or asking for support (unless you ask in a build topic)

I never have a problem on any builds except sense roms with hotmail exchange. Regular exchange accounts sometimes work on the sense builds
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Hotmail is not working on Sense build for sure
