[Q] Are there any NAND builds where BT voice dialing works? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Now, I loved voice command in winmo, I used it all the time driving and after doing some reading, i find that android build 2.2 (froyo) and up have a bluetooth voice dialing feature similar to msvc, but i have yet to find a rom that has this.. from what ive read, you either hold down the call button or the headset button to launch it, just like with msvc..
So, if someone could maybe throw me a clue as to which rom i might try to take advantage of this feature, so i wont have to flash every one to find it, i would be very grateful, thanks you.

just want to say thanks to everyone who has posted a comment, so helpful. from the amount of replies its like nobody uses android..

I would have answered if i knew anything, maybe try the Q&A forum, hopefully someone will help you there

Switch to Speake Mode when slide open the keyboard

Dear All,
This is my first post at the forum. All my other questions have been answered via the search function, so I'm very gladfull that all of you know this awsome machine so well.
Actually I do have a rather challenging question you everyone who is reading this forum.
When I'm talking to somebody on the telephone, normally keeping it to my ear. Now I would like to open my agenda en start writing in it to schedule an appointment. I would the system to switch to handsfree mode as soon as I slide open my keyboard? Is there a way to do this?
Did somebody maybe found an upgrade for this?
For instance, I know that when you open the Nokia 9300 while calling it will transfer to the speaker function?
Well, maybe someone can help me solve my little issue.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jort.
Thats a very good question. I had never thought of that, but it would be nice, although not essential as switching to speaker is fairly quick and easy to do. If there was a reg hack or util to do it, it would use it for sure.
I know what you mean, i use it most of the theme this way. i bod a Bluetooth headset for this problem. but if there is a way. It wil make me happy
Have not seen a hack for this - just hold down the call button as you slide the keyboard open - that will do it
thats just like the lg V on verizon
good question !!
if we can find this will be a good hack to add to your device.

Call Recorder Software for 8525

Hello everyone,
I am looking for a program that will let me click a button and record my phone coversation with someone on the cell phone. I do not know if that is even possible but I would like to be able to record important phone calls to my SD card.
Please let me know if you know of any software or way of doing this.
Thanks,

yes ... yes there is an app available regardless of the countless threads describing why there cannot be one (cred to Menneisyys who worked on that for ages)
how the app works is you pay someone to follow you around ( a stalker is good for this purpose and costs less) then when your phone rings you simply
-Hand it to them to answer
-Give a brief detailed message to the person on the phone(get someone with a good memory, it costs more but it is worth it)
-They write down a message.
-They hand back the phone (providing you pay them enough) then hand you the message.
its as easy as that!
(you could also just search to find the answer!)
Thank you for a very usless answer. I hope you didnt hurt yourself typing it.
Also searching it dont help because smart people like you post crap without knowing the answers so if you search there are 10 people saying that it works with resco or pm tools or vito recoder and others and the other half says it wont work with smart phones.
So who is right?

not very bright
Old postI gave up on but i have not been here for a while and just have to say it.
Ok so the links he gave me take me to crap about answering machines which i was not looking for. I need to record phone calls not an answering machine. Also even if i was looking for an answering machine those posts still do not answer any questions just couple of people one saying well its hardware another no its software another we can break it another no we cant .....
The hardware limitation in the Hermes, and most other WM PPC phones for that matter, applies equally to answering machine as well as call recording software.
Buy a Gigabyte WM phone if this functionality is important to you. Or better, any Nokia Symbian S60.
Actually it DO appears to work...
I haven't done too much experiments yet but answering machine on my Hermes seems working fine.

Interesting... and the quality of the recorded audio is good? You don't need to keep the phone in speakerphone mode to record the audio, i.e. the phone will be quiet while recording the audio?
Does not work on hermes.
Yep... I'm having troubles too.
It seems I have spoken too fast.....
BUT they have released 3 major updates in the last few days.
New version is iSecretary 3.0.
Going to test it.
*EDIT*
In the first post they are looking for Call Recording software.
Answering machine is quite OT, so I posted my first impresions in the correct thread.

Phone mode makes me type numbers!

Arrrgh! So frusterating. I just searched for info on this for a while, and I know its simple and everyone probably knows how to fix this so here it is.
When I am using the phone (connected to someone) the 10 letters with numbers on them are stuck as numbers. No way can I type the letter j for instance. Its like the blue dot shift is pressed. If i press it then the letter, I STILL get the number.
When does this suck? Say i am talking on phone and the person on the other end want to give me some info, say a shopping list. I can put it on speakerphone then hit note and type as they talk.....would be sweet for me cause i do crazy work but I cant cause i am missing 10 letters. I have to use the on screen keyboard but booo.
And I know this is a feature, probably to make it easier to dial numbers or something.
BTW i have a hermes with wm6 (non att, i think schap 4.20)
Thanks guys~~!
This has been discussed numerous times and cannot be fixed by the lay person... You have to install a rom that has the numlock on call fix already cooked in.. there are quite a few of them out there... The fix has to be cooked into the rom, as far as I know, there isn't any way to replace the system file that is necessary while the rom is in use...
Feel free to ask as many questions as you like, but you may want to take a look in the Wiki as well... It'll help you with answers to questions that you don't know you have yet...
Deb.
Great... I have flashed with a couple different rom now trying to find one I like before settling on schaps 4.20. So your saying all I have to do is find another custom rom out there that includes this fix. Thank You very much. Is there a rom package out there with this that you can reccomend? If not do you know the name of this fix or what phrase they use to describe this as I couldn't really find anything about it and never noticed in the descriptions of different custom roms.
Thank You again so much, getting this "feature" fixed will be a great boon to my productivity. It is such a "sounded like a good idea at the time" thing, if they would have thought it out would have know it was bad. It doesn't even help you dial numbers when you call because it doesnt take effect until you hit send, so you have to hold in the blue button anyway. It would be really great if I took notes while on the phone that consisted of only numbers, but even phone numbers need a name.
All you wonderful chefs out there please smile upon the masses of technically proficient but not quite good enough to cook roms and start including whatever this fix is to get rid of this ultra dumb super-numlock-when-in-phonemode phenomenon.
Or do I have to do something to the custom rom I download before I flash it?

[Q] Remap botton?

Hi Was just wondering if we are able to remap our HD2 botton? I would like to switch "Home" botton to home and "Windows" botton to search. Right now on all builds it is the opposite.
Don't flame me m8s was just wondering if is was possible.
Thanks.
No, this is not currently possible, as a quick search would have told you.
A really good way to avoid getting flamed is to invest a little personal effort before posting.
Well sorry
But belive me whne I say that i do a lot og searching and reading before i ask a question, we both know that the search function isn't exactly teh best. And sometimes I do ask a question without searching too much - this is when I am busy IRL and needs a quick answer. Either way I don't flame people that keep asking the same qustion again and again, I answer or I don't.
But thanks for your answer.
Regards.
The 'not the best' search function found me at least two threads that would have given you your answer simply by plugging in 'remap button'.
You were hardly flamed, now were you, just given a bit of advice about avoiding lazy postings. You either choose to take it...or you don't.
Guys, enough please.
Remap of buttons is not possible at this time AFAIK.
and as for search, for some people its been fine, others not, this will be corrected very soon.
Thanks and thread closed

Unable to Mute phone during the call

This is my first post on this forum. I have recently installed NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9-SD V1.0. Everything is working great except one problem. I am unable to mute the phone during the call. Even though the icon shows as mute, the others can still hear my voice. Please help me in resolving this. I have searched the entire forum but no solution found.
As always keep up the great work.
Does anyone else have this problem on that rom? Did you told chef of that rom about it?
Maybe it's only oversight which requires little fix from chef.
I believe it's not the only problem. ics is still new to hd2 and therefore many things need to be fixed. but he is right, report to chef
This is a known issue, it was discussed under the NAND thread.
Search before you ask

Thanks for your response. I have almost spent 5 hours in searching a fix. Nobody has a proper solution. If you know one, please let me know. I'd really appreciate that. Thanks again.

Experiencing the same exact issue here.
Searched and searched and could not find a viable solution.
I am wits end on this issue.
If anyone knows a solution, please post it...
Thanks guys...
Don't duplicate posts .
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
@whocares2k7 and @naseers
Not being able to mute a call is a known issue listed in the thread where the rom is available for download.
If you can't live with bugs on your phone, then I suggest you go back to your official rom from HTC.
These known issues will be fixed when the chef gets around to it...
Cheers,
ck
ck16 - No, it is not listed in the thread at all <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462>. Like I said I've searched and searched and cannot find an answer all over the place!
Thanks for your help!
Cheers
