questions - Fascinate General

have been downloading all the things i need to put dj05 and voodoo5 on my fascinate. however i am unable to get the link to ODIN and CWM recovery to work.
also. now with the impending release of who knows what from verizon i am gonna wait.. if it is froyo. would i be able to root froyo after a ota? would i be able to voodoo froyo?
another off topic question.. i see the dj05 superclean has a lot of "aosp" programs.. what is aosp?
the superclean dj05 does not mention things like calander. does this mean the calander has been removed?

Link for odin and cwm
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/development-135/how-to-root-recover-update-go-back-to-stock/
When froyo is released wait for the devs to repackage it into a rom, it doesn't take long...
Aosp is android open source project meaning stock android...no skins on top like touchwiz or sense...
And roms come with apps like calendar still installed so don't worry about that...

You can create a backup of your stock rooted rom and then restore it any time but I recommend odin if you wanna go back to 100% stock

How to un-flash Bionix rom and go back to ji6 firmware?

Ok so I flashed the latest Bionix Froyo rom onto my Vibrant and I don't really enjoy the hiccups found in the rom. I would like to go back to the Ji6 updateand wait for the official 2.2 update from Samsung. Can someone explain to me how i would do so?

Odin back to stock JFD then update to JI6

In theory, you could flash Anderoid's AOSPish 1.4 which will bring your kernel back to 2.1 and then flash the stock J16 rom over that.

Would that work? That would be so much easier than using odin.

Yeah, aospish has the kernel included, so it shouldn't give you any problems.

Flashing theme causes massive fc's and soft reboot

I odin'ed my phone with the dk28 8g md5 version then rooted but for some reason all of a sudden whenever I flash mysterious beast as soon as m phone boots I get 15 fc's at once and they just keep coming then phone resets. I have to re odin to fixit. Any help is more than appreciated. Thanks

I haven't looked lately but I am pretty sure what you flashed is the stocked leaked rom. If it is it is not deodexed. I believe the themes require a deodexed rom. Try one of the custom roms and then make sure any theme you flash is compatible with froyo.

Next time can you keep questions about a theme in the themes thread instead of creating a new thread. I'm one of the devs of mysterious beast and I would like all questions in my thread.
sounds like to me your not running a deodexed rom. All themes require to be deodexed at the moment. Theres a stock deodexed rom floating around that was done by ACS. All the custom roms are deodexed. You would need one of these to run a theme

thats cause of the battery mods in some of the themes. in order to restore succesfully you would have to flash the rom and then do a restore from cwm
I have the same problem, but I am running Epic Experience v2.0.06 on Stock Kernel. I don't really get any FC's, but everytime I get a text, missed call, or VM, my phone will soft boot. I am running a GingerBread Theme too.

warranty and rooting/modding

If you're running voodoo 5 and decide to go back to stock and unroot.. Would my warranty be good? Or would verizon know?

If you odin back to di01 and if you clean all the folders from your sd. I don't see how they would know.

+1
they wouldn't be able to tell as long as you odin back to *di01* and clean your sd card. if you odin to dj05 you will be SOL though seeing as that DJ05 isnt out.. just make sure you ODIN to whatever verision is out at the time you return your phone.

[Q] Text Messages were sending blank....

I put froyo on my brothers phone from di01. When he sent a text message it was received as a blank bubble. I flashed the DL09 modem with odin and it cleared up the problem. Now for some reason he doesnt receive text messages...does this have to do with wiping the cache? I followed the instructions perfectly and it worked great on my phone but i was on DL09. The update to froyo went perfect on his phone too except for this issue, and suggestions? thanks in advance
Next time google it before posting, but you need to reflash your radio.
From my super clean dl30 fascinate
I did research it...I know how the site hates posting before looking into it. Ill try reflashing the modem. Thanks for your help.

Reflashed still isn't working...I can send but just not receive...any other suggestions? I can start over and odin dl09 then froyo but I kind of rather not.

If you're using the EB01 Froyo build then flash the EB01 radio. If you're using DL30 then use the DJ05 or DL09 radio.

Rooting issues

Hey guys, ive factory reset, wiped data and cache however whenever I root and flash a rom my sms is not functioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
What baseband, what rom are you using?
DI01 baseband. Stock rom. Just tried to flash evil once rooted. Sms was the only thing that didn't work. I've had same issue on other roms.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
You will lose sms with that radio on EF. I would Odin DL09 and from there ota to ED04 or use the zip files found in the development section to get to the modem you want.
Keep me Fascinated.
Sounds like I can handle it, could I be a douche and ask for link to thread with odin file for dl09, pretty please?
