hi all ... today my streak can't see the SD card !!! i don't know why !!!
the sd card is mounted .. when i go to sittings and try to unmount the sd card to mount it again >>> the launcher hang ... !! and force close
my menu now have only the application installed in phone memory
i turned off the mobile and eject the sd card many times ... same !!
even if i connect the mobile with my PC , the notification in tool bar didn't show u as usual to copy and ... etc .
i can explore my sd card now only through ROOT EXPLORER application .
lately i added 4 folders " ringtones ,alarms,notifications and UI sounds " inside ( SD card\media ) which a take from this topic

i am having trouble with my hd since yeserday
i cant see my storage card .
i open my back cover take the microsd 8gb sandisk out and in and then i can see it for a short while and again gone
a restart will not help

Check if you can read the disk on a PC using a card reader. Check it for errors. I've just had the same and found the storage card had damaged files that stopped the whole card from being read. I formattde it using the Panasonic SDHC format utility and restored my back up. All fine now.

i have found that when i move pictures from my computer to dcim folder in my storage card then this happends when i try to see them in my device album pictures i took with another camera and that i had in my pc then the stroage card suddenly disapeer

Hi there, all of a sudden my storage card has decided to rename itself from storage card to storage card2, and with this all my programs that where intalled on the original storage card have stopped working. How can i change this back as my file system now shows 2 storage cards(default new storage card and my old one that has been renamed storage card2), i hope this makes sense and there is a work round to this, i have tried pulling out the storage card but this didn't work please help as this is really annoying

1 take out the card
2 rename the folder 'storage card' to something else,
3 reboot
4 insert sd card and your card will be correctly named again.
its caused because the system is looking for a folder on 'storage card' before the system has finished mounting the actual storage card,. so it creates a folder instead.

Ok im not sure how to rename the folder in step 2? in active sync or disc drive mode this is where i,m getting stuck, thanks for the reply mate

This problem of disappearing Storage Card / Storage Card2 keeps appearing frequently on my WM6.1 Samsung device. Everytime doing the manual process is troublesome. Is there any way to get rid of this problem permanently or in automated way?
hey guys ...here is my problem i have a htc mega and i formatted the micro sd to fat32 so that i can load a custom rom of my sd card .......and now i cant install apps to my sd card , i choose install to storage card and it installs with no errors but when i go to my micro sd via file explorer the program files folder is empty..when i take a look at the program files folder in my device memory my application is there .....

Yes u can remove ur sd card while nand is running...All u have 2 do is ensure u unmount the sd card first to avoid data corruption/loss...Go to Settings > SD & Phone storage, Tap unmount and wait for a msg on you notification bar which says its safe to remove your sd card...You can use multiple sd cards this way...

Well, there is another question - what is the case if you use a ROM that creates a partition on the SD (core DHD in my case)?
It depends on what ROM you're using. If you're using a ROM that uses a Ext3/4 DATA2SD partition then you can't take it out. If you do it'll just reboot to the HTC screen.

i'm new and came from " xperia play " ...(( loooong story ))
i installed 32 GB sd card on my note 3 , when i connect it to my laptop (( windows 8.1 )) i can't see any "remove/disconnect" sd card option !!
also it will detected as camera or MTP on windows and cause of that, there is not any safe remove option option on my windows . i also activated usb debuggin , but still the same problem
i just wanna to know , how can i safe remove my SD card ?

Settings > General > Storage > unmount SD card. --- then remove it from the device?

i don't want to remove my SD card from note3 physically .
i want to safe disconnect my SD card from Windows .
Just unplug it. There is no safe to remove option now for the phone. It's the same for me. My usb needs safely removed and I choose the icon.
But my phone I just unplug as there is no option anymore. I use windows 8.1

It's not loaded as a storage device, it's loaded as a network device.
Because of that you do not need to eject it when you want to disconnect it from Windows.

I haven't yet and its plugged in and out of my PC all the time...
