Kudos to the xda-developers & Cyanogen Mod for HTC EVO Shift 4G

I would like to start off and say I truly appreciate all the contributors to the modding for the HTC EVO Shift 4G as you guys(gals) are really what xda-developers.com is all about and without your mod contributions towards the various WM/Android smartphones, xda-developers.com would be like sex without the Big O. I hope Steve Kondik gets a change to begin developing his mod for the HTC EVO Shift 4G. End of rave, let my toasting begin. LOL!

Kudos and a Question
I was just saying kudos to the developers here at xda-developers.com and asked when Cyanogen was going to release his mod for the HTC EVO Shift 4G.

Cyanogen doesn't own an Evo Shift......

Cyanogen has stated that there will be official support for the shift in the very near future. I heard someone named chiefzreloaded was considering maintaining it for the cyanogen forum

Where at his site did you read a post pertaining to support for the HTC EVO Shift 4G? I've heard the name chiefzreloaded before, just can't remember where at the moment.

Auto-bump charge kernel?

Does anyone have an auto-bump charge kernel for the shift? I am using one on my regular EVO and it gives me great battery life.. is there one available for the shift? I love waking up to 100% battery where my wifes evo shift is 97% off the charger....

How many different places can you ask about this kernel? Lol... And while your wife's shift mary start at 97%, how do they compare at the end of the day, stock shift versus your kernel on evo?

OK sorry I asked in so many places. Just got a shift for my wife and wanted to see what was what before I gave it to her...

I understand your excitement man, it's cool. Wasn't trying to come off as an ass, just found it amusing. I promise ya, on just undervolt kernel the shift will blow away your evo in speed and still outlast it on battery.

I use the SBC kernel on my evo and my shift by default STILL gets better battery life!!!!!!
You won't need the SBC code on the shift.

Are there any other Roms for mytouch 4g

Every search I have done leads me right back here. You could try ultimate droid, don't think it it's listed here. Google ultimate droid rom. Awesome rom in my opinion.

Just so you know UD/ROM has stolen alot of their stuff from Cyanogen(mod). Then they turn around around change some of the coding and make it their own.
That's why you will not see them on XDA.

Ahhh ya I felt as if it was very similar it is very fast though I wanna see a wp7 port to the mytouch

doubt we'll ever see WP7 ported to an Android. That's moving back in time.

Yeah but in the end they gave credit so itse all good in my........phone? But yeah they did take alot from cm with out giving credit. This ud rom seems to be alot better on the battery then cm.

My problem is how they did it. They joined CM then wanted access to the codes and what not. Then they turned around and bad mouthed them on their own board, then stated their own leaving certain Cyanogen baked cookies in the ROM.... It's the whole point of what they did. I will not use their stuff nor recommend it to anyone.

yea. i read some of the stuff that was going on with it. very shady to say the least. in the end its a nice rom. dont really care about the drama end of any of it.
would of been a REALLY nice rom if they woulda just did the work together start to finish and continued together after words.

And any posts with links to any ultimate Droid roms will be deleted.

Ultimate Droid is banned from xda. If you want the story go to cyanogenmod.com and you can read all about it.
There may be a couple other roms out there on other pages.. but the ones here definitely get the most attention and the most fixes.

Actually, they (the dev) has a thread for the UD ROM in the HD2 section of XDA.

I will not use their stuff nor recommend it to anyone.

I am with you on that neidlinger.

Why would the EVO shift get sense 2.1 and the original only get 1.0

I just don't understand why the lesser model EVO got a better sense version guess that's how they are making us want the 3d even more

The only thing "lesser" about the Shift is the screen size. Aside from the name and Sense, they're two completely different phones and the Shift is the more powerful one.

The real question is, what does Sense 2.1 add that the Evo can't handle?

Not that there aren't other posts about this but...
Let's not forget the almighty Dollar!
If they give it to the EVO one less reason to buy a new 3D!

Guess I need to check out the shift I was offered the choice of a shift or ns4g to replace my EVO due to being returned 4 times for warranty they both just seemed built cheap light n plastic feeling ill look at it a little more doesn't seem to be much development for shift either

Um, yah, anyways. I'm just glad we have devs who take the time to port the updated versions if sense to those who want to stay on the cutting edge...

Now now I didn't excuse any one in this thread of anything

This is actually my 1st time posting sumthin on the forums but i've been rooted for the last 3 months jus 2 lazy 2 comment lol, but all my questions i have usually get answered bouncing aroung from rom to rom and using search and i kinda mostly do that to get around the "passionate" debates that pop up time to time lol anywho everybody have a good nite

I'm surprised by some of the members here posting and quoting such utter rubbish. Some of you have over 1000 posts and really should know better, and try to set an example. Does anyone here really find it productive to troll, and reply to trolls?

My wife has the shift, she won't let me root it for her but hers has sense 1.0. I've checked everywhere and have not found an update for the shift anywhere, did they get a ported rom that brought sense 2.1 with it or am I missing something somewhere.

My wife has the shift and I don't see what's so amzing about it compared to the EVO. Granted I'm rooted and she's not, but I played with it when she first got it and now only touch it when she screws something up. All I have to say is Mikg, its absolutely amazing.

I think it was leaked awhile back so it should be out soon.

No one on the Virtuous Team has a MT4G. The one member who does has been MIA for a long time.

our phones are far from outdated, I have a few friends that still use G1's and the original DROID. its just that ppl want the newest and greatest things, nothing wrong with that. but unfortunately for me, its out of my price range to upgrade often but back on topic, hopefully Evil D is doing ok and just dealing with personal issues atm. was really looking forward to trying this rom tho

No idea. All I know is the Virtuous team officially stated in this thread that Quattro was cancelled because eViL D isn't around to participate. If someone else has a MT4G, I don't know who it would be. Despite Affinity being updated, it's possible no one on the team does.
