switch between two sim!

hi to all, anyone now a light program that you permit to switch two sim?
i've bought a dual ghost sim but now i don't now anything about witch sim is in use!
someone could help me?

Actually in Hong Kong, it has 2 types of dual sim slot, ie., with STK (Sim tool kit) function and without.
If it got STK function, it will call the stk application automatically on your program area, and u can select which sim to use.
If no STK function, u just need to switch on / off between flight mode and it will switch

Ist a german Software Developer! I think the Software can get only in German!
I think its that kind of program u search for.
Perhaps u can connect the Developer to implant an English interface.

Take a look at PhoneAlarm (PocketMax ) or PhoneDashboard ( hudsonmobile ).
Phonedashboard shows on wich network you are.
PhoneAlarm shows the strengh of the network signal and if you click on it it shows you on wich network you are.

I dont know it should work! Some other Qtek User are working with it perfectly. Perhaps it's a problem with your Firmware at the german os it's working great.
I will contact the developer perhaps he can explans us why it is not working with your qtek!
I will post the new information when i get them!

i use a normal gostsim found in ebay.
and my two sims are sunrise 64k (swiss) and tim 128k (italian)
my big problem is when i put simname on my today it slow down my s100!
somethimes i must do a softreset to return at my today!
any idea?

I dont using it at the moment. Because i haven't gotten my mda at the moment!

I am using a Magician and a Motorola MPX220, both with a duplicated SIM Card (2 Cards). Of course, not both can be used at the same time, so I find Wivit's Software an easy way to quickly turn off my phone on the magician.

This requires you to cut the sims; this was straight forward.
Some people say it doesn't work with UK 02 monthly sims; I have one, and an Orange PAYG, and they both work perfectly in the Magician.
It took quite a lot of repositioning of the little cut sims - the multisim works perfectly in a nokia because it puts pressure on the back of the SIM to keep it in place. The Magician only puts pressure on the very edges of the SIM, so I stuck a tiny bit of blue tak under the metal cover that covers the mini sims, to bulk it out tiny bit, and it works perfectly.
There are apparantely other very similar products eg

that use the "STK" menu (SIM tool kit) to allow you to switch sims without switching to flight mode and back. However, I've read a review that says such STK cards suck power more quickly than the others. I can't comment - mine doesn't seem to use the STK menu, but it doesn't really bother me.
I also think that when ebaying, unless you expressly search for an STK card, you will get one that doesn't use it.
So: cutting is no problem, just measure twice, cut once etc.
Requires a lot of careful positing in the Magician, so it's best to have a spare phone (eg a nokia) to test it in to ensure it works first, so you know the problem isnt' the sims.
Also, hah hah, I found that removing the battery from the Magician for more than a few minutes coursed a hard reset, of course, so ensure you backup before doing this procedure cus you'll have your battery on and off throughout.

Which dual sim holder for the EXEC?

am interested in using my 2g O2 sim & my 3g O2 sim in the exec, as i have 2 separate contracts. What product would you recommend? will the XDA II ghost dual sim holder fit/work? and is the combination of 2g & 3g sims possible? Thanks

How do these work then? Say I'm using one sim for voice and one for data, obviously I can't use both at the same time (or can I?). So, when I want to go online, do I press some key combo and then the handset soft resets? Can it be made to automatically redirect all calls to the other sim and then cancel diverts when I swap back?

normally 2 sim cards go into a holder and the holder has a single sim which goes into the phone. you turn phone on and ONLY ONE sim card is active the other is effectivtly off. turn phone off and on (in our case flight mode) and the SECOND sim is active and first one is off. with some software from wivit you can actually control which sim is on/off from the phone itsel without switching phone on/off and some digital holders provide that facility via STK software built into the XDA phones. that is how twin sims work, but the main question is has anyone tried this with the EXEC model just yet???
So xiasma you could use one for voice and one for data and try to remember which one is on and which is off.

just to update everyone
i took the gamble and bought a dual sim card holder designed for the II/IIi and tried it in my EXEC, and............ IT DIDNT FIT!!! hehehe
guess we'll have to wait for a dedicated EXEC dual sim holder

I made it fit!!
I have the same dual sim card holder and in order to make it fit I removed Exec's sim card holder. You can easily remove it by pulling it carefully out. It's pretty easy. Afterwards, place the dual sim card without the sim holder and overturn it. Then place the battery over it and with little push you'll hear the "clip" sound which means that the battery is placed. Finally, place the plastic cover and voila!

nope, tried it. there is no way u can place it under the battery without causing IMMENSE pressure underneath it. will wait till they release one that can lay over the battery as opposed to under it.

Yes, actually a dual sim holder that could lay over the battery would be better.
However, it's not that bad as you describe. Did you REMOVE the pda's sim card holder before trying doing what I did?? This way you gain more space under the battery.

Demon could u please tell us whether u used both 3g n 2 g sim cards with ur daul sim adapter and did u had any problems when u mixed a 2g sim with 3g sim?
Also did any body tried trimming of sims as required for NEW universal digital dual sim as shown on this website

No, I haven't tried to mix a 2g sim card with a 3g one. Ive done it only wit h 2g ones.
I have also trimmed cards but not for this specific dual card holder. I did it for another one that you had to switch off the phone and on again to change the active number and it worked pretty well.

It's the one you have to switch off and on again your phone and I bought it for my XDA IIs I had before from the guy of your link.
Just bear in mind that sometimes it doesn't work on Exec. I mean that even if you switch off and on again, the sim card doesn't change and you've got to do it again. I don't know why this happens, I didn't have such problems with this dual sim card on my XDA IIs.

Did anyone manage to find a dual sim holder that works with 3G USIMs?

For a start that's a fake product, so god knows how it will perform.

I have a sim max reader and 12 in 1 card, but they only work with V1 sim cards (All I've managed to clone is a cpl of really old Orange sim cards)
All the others either just don't copy, or don't copy and feck your sim card!

Yeah it works fine with the orange sim cards, its an amazing piece of kit, not cheap tho!
If only it would work with v1.2 and v2 sims it would be mint!

I too would like this info. I travel a lot and my company gives me a prepaid sim when I am traveling for them.

There is already a thread on this, use the search to find it. basically you have two options: The one where you cut your sims (try not to destroy them, with me this method did not work because the dual sim adapter was dead) or the one where you put your sims into a dual sim adapter. the last method leaves a large bump on the back of the device and causes the battery cover to bulge. I tried it, but the bulge is too ugly for me and the chances are that the cover breaks. use search to find more info on this subject.

Worked for me in my Motorola Razr V3 but was troublesome in the Cingular 8125. I haven't tested it since I upgraded my OS on the 8125. But will do that soon.

the vavolo (sim clone) wont work in many countries due to the type of sim.

Dual SIM in Atom Life

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody have managed to use dual SIM in their Atom Life?
I have tried and tried but without success.
It works fine on my hermes, but no luck on the Atom Life.
Can anybody help with my problem?

Just upgrade to WM06. Everything will be OK.

I have upgraded to WM 6
I have made a fake auto configurator as I thought this was causing the problem.
I can see the menu, but when trying to open it just tries and will stand there with the colorful wheel spinning forever on a white screen.

Dual SIM is where you have two SIM cards in your phone, there is various solutions, some where you need to cut your SIM's and some where you don't.
For both types there is two solutions, one where you turn off and on your phone to change the active SIM and one where the SIM tool kit menu will let you choose which SIM to use.
The SIM tool kit ones is the one that is not working in Atom Life, the one where you switch off and on the phone I have not tested as I do not have one of these - yet, but I assume that will work

[Q] BSNL SIM does not work with HD2

Hi All,
Recently I have porting my mobile number form AirTel to BSNL but after port BSNL sim does not work property.
Some times it connects with the network and after few minutes it gets disconnected.
Does anyone have got this problem and its solution.
I am using PACMan 1.2b by Xylograph and MIUI 5 by THANHVO31, both are in NATIVE SD and MAGLDR.

Have you thought that the problem may be with the SIM itself and not related to the HD2?
Try using the SIM in another phone and see if the problem still exists.

I have checked the sim with another phone, that is working. But with HD2 it doesnt work, some times works and sometime does not.

Maybe the sim is not placed correctly, or it is loose. Try removing and reinserting the sim into the HD2. Blowing into the sim's place might help? (dusty old HD2 )

I have done all the things with it, other provider's SIMs are working fine.
I am using Leo radio 2.15.* will try to flash 2.12.*.
Hope it works.
Update: Installed 2.12.* but still not getting signals.
