Hi guys. So I tried manually updating the software for my phone using the firmware from huawei website. Unfortunately, by being a rookie, I did not notice that this firmware was for a different carrier (cricket) and I am on MetroPCS.
I did this by copying the dload folder onto my micro SD card and then doing a software update via SD card. It was successfully installed. However, since it is for the cricket carrier, now my phone won't connect to anything, and I can't do anything with it. It shows a constant message that states:
"Sorry!
The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. " (force close)
I write this thread to:
1. warn future users to not do this software update unless you are on the cricket network.
2. Also would like to know if anyone out there is able to get the correct (Metro PCS) dload folder so that I can install that software back in my phone.
3. To know if there is anyone out there that can fix my problem
I also noticed that my phone reads "unknown" for my baseband version. This should have numbers on it
Im guessing u didnt do a backup right? Well wht i suggest now is rooting and installing a custom rom and recovery. But if u do have a backup then just go into recovery and restore it. That should bring u back to how u were

Hi XDA Folks!
Recently (Yesterday) i bought this litle peace of cellphone to my GF and i was trying to upgrade it to Floyo 1.0 (Update July 5,2011). I must tell you that the phone bought was an X8a from Claro Guatemala, it was still running Android 1.6 on it.
What have i done so far? Since i have knowlegde on Android and the SE family of phones (I used to own an X10 a few months ago) i rooted, installed Xrecovery from Flashtool and made a backup of the 1.6 ROM. By mistake i downloaded Android 2.1.1.0.A.6 for E15i and when the phone booted back it asked me to write the SIM NETWORK UNLOCKING CODE and i thought to myself WTF!!! So again i downloaded two more files:
Android 1.6 Claro Chile for X8a
Android 2.1 World for X8a
Flashed Android 1.6 back to the phone and then it was working normally it recognized the SIM and so. Right after that i flashed Android 2.1 for X8a world and again the SIM was recognized and working good. Until here no issues or whatsoever...
Rooted again, Xrecovery Installed and then i moved floyo 1.0 from this thread to /sdcard/xrecovery and then performed the restore to have that ROM up and running...
The phone didn't boot so i flashed Baseband 15 for X8a from Blagus mediafire folder the phone booted again but the SIM is not recognized again it keeps asking for the UNLOCKING CODE....
Do you think i am doing something wrong here?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated...

Try this
Backup your data and contacts on your PC
Install xRecovery
Boot into XRecovery
Format System, Format Data, Format Cache, Format SDCard
Mount USB from xRecovery copy the Floyo.zip on the sdcard
Unmount USB then Unmount SDCard in xRecovery the mount SDCard back - to refresh the files from the SDCard
Install Custom zip
This way your phone should be clean with only floyo and u can copy back your stuff from the PC.
I had some problems with some data from the SDCard when switching ROMs also if this works dont restore data using google account sometimes data from an older ROM messes up your new one like wireless passwords.
Thanks for the reply i'll try but i think my phone can't use Baseband 15 because whenever i flash baseband 15 my SIM gets network locked. If i revert back to the X8a Global firmware it works again...
I'll do more research and i'll post the results of the steps you advised me..
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, however i think my phone can't handle baseband 15. Yesterday i downloaded 2.1.1.A.0.6 WORLD and when it boots up it asks for the SIM UNLOCKING CODE, i choose dismiss but the phone doesn't get any network signal.
Weird thing is that it does work using the 2.1 update with baseband 06... Anyone else having this sort of issue? I really want to put at least FROYO on my GF Cellphone but i don't know what else i can do...
Am i doomed and have to deal with the 2.1 update??

you try using SEUS to flash?... i'm from Chile and my phone's baseband was originaly 06.
Install seus (Sony Ericsson Update Service), and my new baseband is 15 ^^.
Try it...
Or you could update to 2.1 from 1.6 on the phone.
Thanks for the help guys... I give up, i tried flashing Claro Chile 1.6 and then upgrading trough SEUS and the same result. My phone got the 2.1.1.A.0.6 with baseband 15 but it again asks for the SIM unlock network code....
I'll try to take to my career service center to see if they can update it.

Sorry to post on your thread like this, but how do you installed the floyo rom? Theres no update.zip file, just a few ISO files. What am I missing?

SIM network unlocking code is not the same as SIM unlock code. I have a SIM lock code (so that if my phone gets stolen and they shut it down, they can't use my sim card). Sim NETWORK unlock code is the code you need to unlock your phone for any carrier (if I am correct). You should dismiss the 2nd one.
If the first one (lock code) appears and you don't know it or have never set one up, try 1234. If it doesn't work, talk to your carrier.
hi
i tried to restore original OS into my mobile through sd card and it went faild i got an error "upgrade ROM code erre please try again" and i can't fix it now i have tried almost everything but all in vain ! and few months ago i lost its original charger and data cable so my pc can't detect the new data cable i have only way to go through the process is sd card plz help me out of this if anybody knows
you probably used the wrong stock rom. flashing any old stock rom from sd card first removes hspl, then tries to flash the rom, but since hspl has gone, only the correct carrier/region rom will work.
Alternatively, if the flash failed part way through and you get rom code error, you can usually just go ahead and try the flash again.
to help further you need to provide more info (should have been in post 1) model of hd2, exact filename for rom you tried to flash, what you know about the phone like where it was bought from ((i.e was it carrier branded)),
Hey so i updated my LG G2 from 24A to 39A, but once I got to 39A my sim card could no longer be read. In the network settings tab it now says unknown and under Mobile network type it says disconnected. I tried bringing it back to stock 24A but it still did not work. I tried another sim card but nothing. Before I updated my phone I made a backup, but when I loaded it up it still did not work. I tried flashing different Roms but no dice. Its weird because I can use wi-fi calling and everything works. It is only when I am not on wi-fi where nothing gets read. Can anyone help me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
are you by any chance having this problem when you try vexxoaosp?
Im not entirely sure which one that is, but I dont think so. Could you provide a link to it so I can try it?
I don't think you should try it then.
Sorry mate, did you do a stock reset with a kdz file fitting your model?
I recommend you to use LG Flash Tool 2014 with a stock kdz file. There is a thread about it here.
I tried that...multiple times lol
Did you contact your service provider? Any warranty left?
I bought it second hand, so unfortunately no warranty

Wi-Fi is using similar memory controller as SD card. I had an issue where my SD got corrupted and Wi-Fi did not turn on because of it aswell. So try removing/replugging the SD card (and restart afterwards).
Ty for your answer blefish, i try what u do and try with another SD card, and i put my SD to another device. and i can´t turn on wifi, but my friend phone´s works well.
UPDATE: i made a downgrade to 2.2.2 froyo and WiFi Works Well.. any hint to upgrade my phone? whitout lose WiFi?¡
]when you're on ICS do you have an IMEI number? If not your phone is screwed on any ROM higher than GingerBread. Mine is the same. It just cycles through the connecting cycle on and off. I've even tried forcing an IMEI number through a program but it didn't change anything.
EDIT: nevermind finally after hours and hours of trying to revive this phone I got my IMEI back and wifi working. Damn it took ages to figure out.
Flashed to Official Gingerbread, then done the steps of retoring my IMEI number which is listed behind my battery. I used DFS tools for this and a post that tells you how to access the project setting menu to enable the settings. Then I wrote my IMEI number back on my phone, then rooted it and installed a custom recovery. Then from there installed Aurora ICS and used another post here to write my Mac address found behind my battery using Terminal Emulator. And bam! my wifi isnt stuck in a loop trying to connect anymore.
I got an IMEI number but the wifi dosent work, do I need to simply use TWRP to get official? then go back?

There are several solutions on all Oreo rom threads.
May you type no sim in the thread search
and try what's working for you.
I would suggest completely wiping your phone and flashing stock Oreo with your computer. That includes internal storage so you want to back everything up.
