[Jan 6] Boot-Up Sound MOD (Sense Roms Only) - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Please delete this thread.

Nice info! Thank you

About other builds:
You need file: /system/media/bootscreen/boot_animation.xml
Inside this xml you will find next directives:
audio="/system/media/bootscreen/boot.mp3"
useAudio="0" // 1: true ; 0:false
So you can put your audio anywhere.... and modify xml.

If this is true and works. I will fly to Odessa and buy you a beer.

I've already done this, and also have changed the boot animation as well (adding bootanimation.zip to the same location), but the problem I have come across is, between the two running it doesnt run the full length. Meaning by this, the mp3 is 25 seconds long, the boot animation is 30 seconds long. but when it starts to run, it runs only for 10 seconds and goes to the lock screen. Anyone got an idea how to make both run the full length sound and gfx?
Also just as an FYI, you can also use the location system\media if the customize location is not available in "non-sense" builds.

I wish this were true. However it all depends on the rom and where in that specific rom the xml file is. Ex: on sense roms I believe the location is system/customize/resource/cid/default.xml when you edit the xml file do a search for bootanimation and you'll see the string that specifies the location of the audio file to play during boot.
Currently I've been trying to figure it out for both my HD2 and Aria. I don't know of an easy way of searching for the xml file. I'm open to any suggestions.

Sense builds dont need the xml file, Non Sense do, the file your looking for isI believe default.xml, there is no boot_animation.xml

Correct however it isn't easy to locate.
This is the string I'm referring to
Code:
"<BootAnimation animation="/system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip" audio="/system/customize/resource/android_audio.mp3" />"
You'll find that in a sense rom.

[UTILITY] Manila 3D Kitchen [BETA, with rhodium manila support]

Hi!
There a lot of kitchens avaialable for ROM building. Now this one is to ease TouchFlo3D building.
This kitchen uses the knowledge and works of 6Fg8, D-MAN666, xboxmod, chainfire and many others who are involved in Manila hacking.
If you use this kitchen and/or any of the decompiled scripts then be so kind and share back the source code of your modified scripts too!
This kitchen (v1.5) has the following utilities included:
6Fg8's mode 9 editor (v3.3.0.1)
sztupy's mode9 converter (v1.0)
chainfire's CFC compressor (v0.46)
MKT: a tool for batch converting/compressing/compiling mode9,qtc,png,xml,lua files (v1.1)
LuaDec (2.0)
A work in progress lua and xml IDE
And various other tools
In the center of this kitchen stands MKT aka manila_kitchen_tool, which is like 'make' but for manila kitchen developement.
It has the following functionality:
split hased _manila files back to their original filenames
join a bunch of files in a directory back to their hashed form
mass decompile mode9 files back to xml and save their lua scripts
mass convert qtc files to/from png files
mass compile lua files
It works like 'make' in sense that only the modified files will be recompiled/recompressed so after the firts setup it might be ideal for manila development.
The output of the kitchen was tested with the Rhodium manila (WVGA version) on a HTC raphael device and it works, so this project is no longer a prototype, but is still considered beta stuff
Kitchen set up
I uploaded a complete Rhodium2 Manila kitchen in case you want to use that as a base (download both the kitchen and the rhodium files, then copy them to the same directory), but of course you can use any other manila pakcage you get across. To set up the kitchen copy the package into the 'pkg' directory then run:
Code:
mkt split
to split the hashed files back into their filenames. (For this conversion it uses the same table as m9editor uses.)
You will get a "bin" directory. This will hold all "compiled" stuff, so here you will find all the files that don't need more preprocessing, and can be hashed/installed to the device
Next you want to get some editable files out from the luac, mode9 and qtc files, so use:
Code:
mkt -x bin frommode9
To decompile mode9 files back to XML (it will also extract the scripts out of the package)
Next:
Code:
mkt -c d,qp fromqtc
or
mkt fromqtc
Will convert all qtc files to png files. (the first type will work on cfc compressed qtc files, the second will work on non cfc compressed files)
After this only the scripts are remaining. Unfortunately these can't be decompiled easily, so grap the decompilation of someone (like me ), and put these files into the "insrc" directory. After this run
Code:
mkt -d insrc -o src split
so all the hashed _manila files will be converted back to their original filenames to ease searching through them.
After this you're ready with your prepared kitchen. These things were already done with the Rhodium manila so you might use that package to start manila modding.
Compiling
You can use tomode9, compile and toqtc commands to compile these files back to their binary counterpart. Alternatively you can use:
Code:
mkt -c pq,c,p make
to run this three command after each other. It's like a Makefile, so it will only compile things that have changed. Of course you might want to 'make all':
Code:
mkt -a -c pq,c,p make
This will build all files from the "src" directory into the "bin" directory
Creating the package
After you're done you can use
Code:
mkt -o outdir join
to hash all files from the bin directory back to hashed form, and put it into the 'outdir' directory. Next add the binaries and you're ready to flash
Alternatively I included createpkg that will create a cab package from the OEM apckage found in the 'pkg' directory
Download and other stuff: http://winmo.sztupy.hu/manilakitchen.html
Sounds great! Downloading now. Thanks sztupy!
Yeah, good job sztupy, this will be a great addition.

I hoped so
unfortunately it's hard to tell a command line tool where to inject the scripts... An XML export/import function would be cool (export it to XML, without the binary scripts, then add the decomp'd scripts, and the importer would do its job esolving everything), but I know that won't be possible until you resolve the mode9 files completely...

your visualization of the m9 files look like xml, that's why I thought about that (but yaml could be a good serializator too). But this is just an idea, if you can tel me an easy way to tell a command line script where to inject a script that would be fine
And a command line CFC compressor is also needed

mode9 is basically binary XML, so i had no choice
The easiest way (at least for me) is byte positions just kidding ...
I'm on vacation next week, maybe i'll get struck by an ocean of light while skiing on one of the wonderful austrian mountains
CFC compressor .... I've that lying around somewhere here, shouldnt be a problem to adapt it.

Just downloaded kitchen and getting ready to start playing. Just wondering, will this make a installable cab file for rhodium manila for touch pro? Of course with vga adapted files. I've noticed that previous attempts of making a cab for it have failed, but oem packages work when cooked in. I'm making a theme, which shouldn't require a full install, but would be nice to know.

I tried to install it as a cab on NATF's ROM I'm using, and it worked flawlessly. It might break on a stock ROM though. The whole convert to cab thingy is alpha currently, but hopefully it will be solved.
sztupy, So how do you go about fixing the main function? I have the LUA file I've been working on done except for the main function and all the Q16.16 instances. But looking at the src.lua file, it appears chunks of the main are scattered throughout the file. Literally, I have code parts at the beginning of the file, in the middle and at the end of the file.
That's how the luadec output that you ran for me (because luadecguess was inaccurate) outputted the decompile.
So I'm stuck because I'm not sure how to proceed with fixing it. What do you do, just leave it where it's at and search for what it's referring to and fix it where you find it? Or do you cut/paste (move) it at the top of the src code in the order it's supposed to be in?
EDIT: never mind, left the code where it was and just searched out and fixed what it referenced. Other then the Q16.16 lines, everything is good.
Hi sztupy. Excellent work. Im poor and unemployed so although Id like to, I cant donate any cash at the moment. I like this project enough to offer body parts though, if any of yours fail
EDIT - bug report removed. was related to luaconv.exe. moving to another thread.

You can consider every function in the file as a value. It's just like a number or a string in this case, because in the main body you assign functions to some variables. So if you find something:
Code:
SomeStuff = function(foo)
lots of stuff
lots of stuff
lots of stuff
end
SomeOtherStuff = function(bar)
lots of stuff
lots of stuff
lots of stuff
end
Then in the main body this will translate to:
Code:
SomeStuff = funtion1
SomeOtherStuff = function2
And in the disassemlby to something like this:
Code:
R0 := Function(f1)
SomeStuff := R0
R0 := Function(f2)
SomeOtherStuff := R0
And of course the definitions of these functions will be put after the main body (just as with any other inlined function, the only exception is that compare/luadec and the other tools I made will handle these functions separately to ease decompiling). So if you have to fix the main body you have to only look at the part of the script which is not in a function...end body

Tab title bug in (Dutch) stock ROM + 'achternm' typo

Just picked up my HD2 yesterday and already tweaked it quite a bit using tips from this forum. However, there is one thing I can't seem to resolve.
The original dutch HTC Sense puts the tab title of 'music' in caps. So it's like "Mail, Weather, MUSIC, Calendar, etc" (Mail, Weer, MUZIEK, Agenda, etc.). It's obviously some sort of typo in the translation to dutch and although it doesn't affect usability it really annoys me.
This is what I've tried so far:
- Search the register for the string value 'MUZIEK' or anything close to that
- Search the content of Manila XML files for the string value 'MUZIEK'
- Open manila.exe with ResHacker to search for strings..
None of those gave me any locations where I could change 'MUZIEK' to 'Muziek'.
Any suggestions?
I bet it's in one of the many 'xxxxxxx_manila' files under /Windows/. On the Touch Pro, one of those contained the today screen tabs info. I remember I changed a tab title there once.
I haven't gotten around to looking for it yet on my HD2, but I'd like to change that 'MUZIEK' title as well!
It is in: Windows/56ae5a2d_manila (line 27) and Windows/784be3cb_manila (line 6)
I remember now: the file is /windows/26948339_manila.
You should copy the file to another location, open it with a text viewer and look for this line:
<Page Order="8" Name="music.page" PackageName="HTC" Title=[[IDS_MUSICTITLE
I believe the 'Title' field is the one we want. It uses some kind of variable called [[IDS_MUSICTITLE]], that I guess holds the string 'MUZIEK'. Since I don't know where that variable is defined and if we can change it [edit: see post above], I think we could (for now) just replace the variable right here with the title we want.
So, the line should become:
<Page Order="8" Name="music.page" PackageName="HTC" Title="Muziek">
Save the file under the same name. Then copy it back to /Windows/ using TotalCommander (a file explorer that can 'overwrite' ROM files). Then restart HTC Sense.
I should warn you that this is all speculation based on what I (vaguely) remember doing on my previous phone. I haven't installed TotalCommander on my HD2 yet and I'm too tired to experiment right now... So try at your own risk.
There you go, my question was already answered while I was posting.
Changing the variable where it is defined is a much more elegant solution than replacing it ad hoc, of course.
Nothing even close to "MUZIEK in "26948339_manila"
have a look at the two files that I mentioned.
Both files have MUZIEK in it!
Just tested my "fix", and yes... After a reset it's now showing Muziek.
B.t.w. It's not the only typo.
Have a go at adding a new contact.
Look at what its saying for second name (Achternm)

I think my fix would work because I'm replacing [[IDS_MUSICTITLE]] (which stores the string 'MUZIEK') with 'Muziek'. But yours is better because it fixes the problem at the source. Thanks!
Thanks guys! Editing the Windows/56ae5a2d_manila and Windows/784be3cb_manila files did the job! They don't have an .xml extensions which explains why they didn't show up in my searches.
Robrecht: I had tried overwriting the MUSICTITLE variable name with 'Muziek' before but that didn't make a difference. That might have been the title the way it shows up in the settings screen where you can change the order of the tabs.
I'll try so search for the 'Achternm' typo in these files as well...
I fixed the 'achternm' typo in the contact editor. It was baked into an executable. Replace the file in the attached zip with the one in the phone's Windows folder.

Maybe a dumb question, but how can I replace the file? It says it's in use (which makes sense).
You can overwrite ROM files with a file explorer like Resco Explorer or Total Commander. Also; I would always make a backup of files you overwrite.
Btw. These are the edited _manila files with the fixed MUZIEK (caps) typo. Same story as above for the /Windows folder on your phone. (Phone needs to be restarted)

From what ROM did you extract and altered the ContactEditor.exe.0413.mui because now in ROM 1.48, all the field names are gone !!! Please explain to us how and what you have done with the .exe to fix the Achternm typo?

[Problem] Set icons in start menu

Hi,
I´ve got an issue that i can´t set an icon to task manager and messages in start menu/settings/System. See the pic below. I use a cab file to apply these icons.
i just make a pkg with my reg entries and pics i want to use at the end of my kitchen. open up your reg with reg editor and see if it looks like this...
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Settings\cplmain.cpl,1]
"Rank"=dword:000002BC
"Icon"="[COLOR="Red"]\\[/COLOR]Windows[COLOR="Red"]\\[/COLOR]Start_Icon_Lock.png"
notice the \\, it must be that way in registry...a single "\" wont work. also you could try assigning rank, but i dont really think that is necessary for the pic to show.

Code:

"Icon"="\\Windows\\Start_Icon_TaskMgr.png"
EDIT: Btw, how is rank determined? Dont really understand what ""Rank"=dword:000002BC" means..
I'm a noobie so forgive me if I make any mistakes.
But... Try adding some "zzz"s before the package to make it run at the end of the build process. If it still doesn't work, search inside all files (most probably the .provxml files) in your kitchen folder for "Task Manager.lnk" and see if another file is assigning a different icon to it. I use EVK's built in search engine to do jobs like that.
I hope I helped
EDIT: About Rank, icons are ordered from highest to lowest rank values in the start menu. I think "000002BC" is a hex value for the normal integer value that the rank is set to.
EDIT2: WOW! Awesome icons! Did you make them?

Thanks for the tip. I have the folder to run last in customization. I understand thats its some sort of hex value or whatever, but i dont understand it so i can place the icons where i want them.
The icons are made by dlink ithink.
2BC = 700. The rankings go from 0-999, and most are higher, which is why that one appears on the low side. The easiest thing is to just arrange everything on the phone (drag and drop), then export the entire start menu registry key and just put that into your start menu EXT. I'm not sure exactly how the values vary left to right and top to down.
I heard somewhere that the built in start menu 'drag n drop' messes with the ranks? I'm probably wrong though
I believe the ranks go in this order.. 1 being highest, 8 being lowest. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I hope NRG doesn't mind me butchering his start menu with my awesome paint skills
Hey... i dont think you are patching and i dont think you are trsut sign the cab... or making the image PNG...
but if you are "cooking" you dont need the cab... just make an EXT PKG with the icons ins the "file" folder... and the REGS in "app.reg" file making the path to the image, if you are patching you must to set the image as "read only" simple slash and be sure that CPL is teh correct one... and for the New TEXTMesage be sure you are using the path to.. tmail.exe i couldnt give you my EXT PKG with the paths cause im not in my home right now

Thanks for the help + Que PPC. The PNG is ok as it works in start menu. Btw, i made a package, instead of an cab. Much simpler to edit. What is the correct CPL for task manager in start menu/setting/System?
I have no clue on CPL or how to determine posistion
Ok i have the stock image for Taskmanager in my startmenu in position #24
Hex = 35A4EBEC
DEC = 900000748
So it seems that in the strat menu you can rank the icons as you want... by this 100 to 900 valu but in settings and for CPL icons the thing is.. they are arranged authomatically by name
(look at the attached image)
and this is the reg for cpl 30

with this: \Windows\Start_Icon_TaskMgr.png
BEsure there is the image in windows folder

"Icon"="\Windows\Start_Icon_TaskMgr.png"

you find all hardcoded items in this directory (e.g. start_icon_*.png)
give your new icons the same name in your ext directory (oem)
2. customize icons
only what you need to customize icon is the following reg-keys
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Task Manager.lnk]
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Start_Icon_Task Manager.png"
-> this key replace the "task manager.lnk" icon in the root of the startmenue
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Office\Notizen.lnk]
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Start_Icon_Office_Notizen.png"
-> this key replace the "notizen.lnk" (like notice in english) icon in the customize directory "order" in the startmenue
so when you need no ranking is the simplest and fastest wayy i can explain to you...

The thing is that i dont get the icon that is in SYS, i get the on in the exe. Would not matter if i change it.
Very true i can confirm that... the CPL images for icons in settings system cant be changed... maybe is due to another reg or .ico or other kind of file in oem

Could be.. Probably. I sure hope not
You should convert the rgu files to xml files.
XML always run after the RGU, So its better to use when making custom modification.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369457 (second post)
Th e cpl's are loaded in a provxml in the oem folder (don't remember which one off the top of my head). If it's messing with desired settings, rather than loading another provxml during first boot, and slowing down first boot even more, it's better to either edit or delete the oem provxml. Personally, I'd delete it and then put your start info in an app.reg in an EXT that runs near the end of the build.
Edit: the provxml with all of the cpl's is mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml, and it's in oem-lang 0409. It's a complete waste to run this thing, imo. Just put it in an app.reg and you'll get a faster first boot.
Sorry but for change icon position in start menu, cant you do it just from start menu moving that icon and then go to the right reg key and export it?
This work for Kaiser dunno if Leo,Tp2 or Topaz has different way.
hi fellow chefs
i post my question here as i thought it would be better then openijng a new thread for it
i keep marketplace in my rom but i cant set it to the internet folder
i have looked in the initflash.dat and there is nothing there about marketplace(at least not that i could find)
i have looked in the sys map from market place and found a provxml
i changed it there the same way i did for taskmanager and it still doesnt work(for taskmaanger it works)
can some one help me out where or what i need to edit to have marketplace in internet folder
i attache my provxml so you can see what i have done

[Solved] Where to find WM Root certificates? They are missing in all my ROMs!

Hi all!
I searched a lot on that topic an coocked loads of roms (for XPERIA/Kovsky/Venus) for testing purpose...But I cannot find a solution for that.
All my recently cooked ROMS (several Builds) are missing root certificates, I only have each two from HTC and Sony Ericsson in Setings. What went Wrong? where to find them? I thought to have found them in the following provxml's which actually is not the case I found out... (see below)
<old> Here is my problem. Build 23541 is seemingly (at least for me) missing root certificates. I managed to figure out they are included in a provxml called mxip_wpc_3.provxml. So I copied that one from a official LEO ROM (Build 21***) and did not change anything. After flash I can find it located in \Windows\ but the certificates are not appearing in Settings.
Now I now that provxmls need to be in UTF-8 format and set to read only, hidden and system. That ist tha case with this specific file. So what's wrong? </old>
I hope that someone can help me with that topic cause I have no other idea now.
Thanks A lot guys!
Hilaireg put together a really good tutorial om provxml's. Look it up, it may help. And make sure NET CF is cooked in (just a guess).
I guess you don't have that provxml added to any of dsm files . Just use this tool and add it to any of dsm files.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523139
You can also use xml parser to check if file is good, for example Serna Editor.

Do you happen to know if that is needed too with platformrebuilder?
I've never worked with it but my guess is that you won't have to manually add provxml to dsm files.

Must be talking about this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519548 Found it, thanks, very interesting indeed...this one will go into my bookmarks
Anyway, as i just copied the files from a working ROM I don not think something is wrong with them...

Thnkas as well, Layout is probably good, as the are woring in that LEO ROM.
I will look a bit deeper in your link, this sounds like the right way.
Are there other sugestions?

Tryed that now...But it did not help! Considering the xml is good (as it is working in a leo ROM) what else opportunities are there?
EDIT: Tried to import the provxml's (mxip_wpc_2.provxml and mxip_wpc_3.provxml) using AdvancedConfig but with no luck. Wondering...
Rename the file ZZZmxip_wpc_3.provxml and try again. EVK processes .provxml files in alphabetical order. If a directory referenced in the above .provxml is not created by a previously processed .provxml, then the modifications will not be applied.
I guess you are referring to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=707717
From what I understand (probably very little) your provxml got executet too early as one shortcut was not yet present in the startmenu, so it stopped, right? With my files they do not depend on other files / reg values as these are just certificates...anyway, lets see
I will do so now, but I also tried to build a clean (no EXT) ROM from 23563 Rollup thread by Da_G and had the same problem! This is starting to get starnge...Will report in about 30 mins.
EDIT: Renaming did not help. Starting to get frustrated...
EDIT2: Even converting that provxml to a cab did not work. Am I looking in the wrong place?
Yes that thread, some ppl said that you need to edit the OEMs dsm where you add the provxml and add the provxml into it, dunno if it works... another one is... when a provxml fails in a corrupted line the next lines dont be executed but the before lines were set... so maybe the dirty way can works for you... if not works... your provxml is wrong in that thread many ppl said something about using a tool to see if the provxml is ok try them too
the dirty way to make it is... ad the provxml lines in your provxml to any other provxm... remember to keep the same attributes in that provxml.

trying the dirty way now.
I checked the provxml using a provxml2cab converter which usualy gives an error on bad files. And I am using Notepad++ which makes chacking quite easy. Than again, it comes from a official ROM and was not modified...
EDIT: Nope, not included!
what does that provxml has inside? some icons arrangement? or shortcuts?
Root certificates. both are attached below.
Are you using oskitchen alpha? There have been some problems with provxml not running (hence the alpha) but alpha5 should be fine.
Not sure? Its the NewUI Version and one of the last ones with the old folder structure (I think 1.27 or so)

It was a problem specific only to the 1.31 alphas. Make sure the provxml files have the three attributes set (hidden, read-only and system), that could be the cause of the issue.
I am pretty sure the attributes are stet as you say.
If dirty way doesn't work, then I'm pretty sure it's something wrong with provxml file.

The only real way to find out is to set oskitchen to stop before imgfs generation or setting LZX and going quickly in the platformrebuilder temp\dump folder while it's generating IMGFS and using the ATTRIB command on the files in the dump folder to see what attributes those end up with. If all those three attributes aren't set the files won't run.
I'm pretty sure I've had provxml file with no attributes and it worked perfectly, but maybe I'm wrong .

.RGU file entries not applied.

While cooking my ROM for testing under emulator, i create a directory called "MyTweeks" and copy it under sys folder.
That directory includes the following files:
1- "mytones.mp3".
2- "initflashfiles.txt" --> empty.
3- "option.xml" --> contents are not necessary.
4- "7fd5181e-f7fc-4404-908a-7f71e2568c53.rgu"
The .RGU file includes:
REGEDIT4
;
; Set Default RingTone
;
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0]
"Script"="apr"
"Sound"="\\Windows\\mytones.mp3"
After the ROM boots-up, i found the .MP3 file copied successfully to \windows directory, but the registry tweak is not there
can any one tell me what's wrong with this .RGU?
Also, any registry entry is missing....
You should post this to the respective kitchen thread to get an answer.
you better check for duplicated GUID(number) or post your whole rgu contents. do you have enter(empty line) at its end?
eventually - another guid has priority because of overall number rule(thus your tweak is overwritten by another rgu).
and ignore posts like above...it's typical here;/(you know +1 to posts count, but 0 help given).

Your comment sounds good for me.
I already post all the content of the .RGU file as above, nothing more in the file.
Yes, i entered a blank line just before the end of the file.
There is no other GUID with the same name in the whole project at all, it is actualy unique number like this:
7fd5181e-f7fc-4404-908a-7f71e2568c53.rgu
How can i give this .RGU a priority? or make the changes after all other changes?
if this question couldn't be answer here, where exactly should i post (whitch Threads)?
higher number has higher priority(at last in normal kitchens), so ffxxxxxx- will overwrite 7fxxxxxx-.
just do search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 on whole kitchen(UNICODE search) to determine, if that reg entry is doubled/tripled etc...also, make another search(ascii search) for same reg entry regarding provxmls(as it's another way of reg import, and this is overwriting all rgu's eventually).
on the other hand i wonder about mp3 as ringtone, are you sure, if that file is ok(i mean, if it really work as ringtone on your actual rom)? sometimes system sets ringtone to default, if file set is let's say..bad.
btw, do not make guid by yourself, use tool for this:
www.guidgen.com
ahhh, another thought:
try to add
"DefaultSound"="\\windows\\xxx.xxx"
to your reg.
|
v
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0]
"Script"="apr"
"DefaultSound"="\\Windows\\mytones.mp3"

1- MP3 as a ringtone is working fine if i manually change it. why you're wondering about that?
2- I tried to do the registry manually after booting, it works great. but in kitchen it isn't.
3- I tried many time to Generate a UUID by the help of the site you sent me with no success.
4- I did a search in the project and found the following:

Thanks.
You didn't mention a .dsm. I suspect you need to create one with the same guid as the .rgu.

I used "totalfire" to create one but the same problem still there.
also, if i removed it from the folder, the BuildOS creates a dummy one with the same results.
really, i fed-up, but i'm thanking all of you whom tried to help
I just need any one of whom success to apply his own registry tweaks in his cooked ROM to tell me how he did it..
As Simple As this....
edit.. I attached the files that i need it to be installed...
ok, this may be weird what i am gonna write, but have you tried to place your ringtone in proper place designed for additional ringtones by initflashfiles?
here's catch - some things WONT work when not COPIED while first boot.
i have no time for explaining this, but try to edit initflashfiles to copy this ringtone to proper place, than edit reg to match.
and another interesting thing: try to rename Mytones to mytones.
before this - check one thing with rom that was not working earlier - make sr, and go into windows to see, if your file became..folder.
there's small chance of getting weirdness with files with capital letters in name, sometimes.
and finally - did you make softreset before checking, if ringtone is set after flash(do NOT check this before first softreset)?
and postfinally - convert your file to something native for WM(weak advice, but...).
btw, skip dsm for this, it is useless for such things.
@pupakota
I tried but still something wrong.
I have no problems with the file copy, the file copied successfully.
The problem with the registry entries... any registry entries within the .RGU file didn't applied after flashing the ROM or even First Softreset after first boot.......
There are nothing changed in the emulator registry for any of the registry entries.
one thing, you are making this for emulator(Oo)?
have you checked your pack on real device?
you shouldn't take emulator behaviour as sure mirror of real thing...
You should try putting another registry key into that .rgu; it could just be a dummy key (like hklm\software\test). Then see if it is parsed during cooking. It's starting to sound more like a provxml is over-writing your values during bootup.
