I noticed that once I went to CM7 I haven't been able to even video chat. I can get to the menu, but whenever I press video chat the app force closes. Anyone know a fix?
Its because cm7 uses gingerbread framework, most applications haven't been updated to support android 2.3. From what I have heard tango works really well on cm7..

Anyone have any idea if this will possibly help with the crazy (hacked) FFC support? Boy Genius Report - Android 2.3.4
First, this should be in the general section.
Second, google is going to fix the FFC problem by making gtalk the go-to videochat app. Everyone has it on their android devices, but nobody uses it. It would appear they're trying to make the out of the box experience better by integrating software that will work with the hardware rather than relying on third parties like oovoo, qik, or fring.
hopefully cyanogen incorporates this update into 7.1

I really hope so, all my friends have iPhones and we use fring to videochat now cause it supports 4 people with the recent update, but my god dame FFC is upsides down, tango fix from chaging the manufactor into samsuing didn't help neither.
Get some new friends. Jk hehe

You need to change the model to "Nexus S". Changing the manufacturer name stopped working due to an update or something.

I'm hoping you meant Samsung. If you put an i in there that's probably why it didn't work.
Can someone direct me to an apk for a Netflix app that works on a my touch 4g please?
Unfortunately I dont think there is one working for the stock ROM. However, many custom ROMS (Including recent cyanogenmod 7 nightlies) have it working. in that case, just head on over to....

Oh.. Its my girlfriends mytouch 4g. I was hoping theres one that she can use to work Netflix. Thanks for the help of though, but her phone isnt rooted and im sure she wont let me do it lol.
Unfortunately there is not a way to get netflix without rooting
How about now that netflix works for other devices?... Can one get it to work on an unrooted mt4g?

Netflix codes the .apk to only work on certain devices. The only reason it works on 3rd party ROMS is the developers have tweeked the rom and tricked the .apk into thinking it's one of those supported devices.
I'm running a stock rom. It is rooted. I have Netflix 1.3 installed.
Works flawlessly. See here...

Shouldn't it be built in now? IIRC it was supposed to be in 2.3.4.
Can anyone confirm that its natively working?
Still looks the same to me.

Definitely not built in.
Hope it makes it into the official release...
I have never gotten this to work on any GB leak (anonymousROM i3 and currently RandomROM Osprey). Phone<->PC allows me to connect to a video chat but the person on the other end doesn't see/hear me. If I try phone<->phone I can't even initiate a chat if the other user is on GB.
Any ideas?

Yeah I can see the video chat icon for PC users but not phone users. Is it confirmed working, or just in there without being tested?

I tried all of the GChat w/ Video fixes I could find and nothing works. I can video chat with a PC user but they do not get any video, nor can I switch to the front camera.
I've never(as long as we've had gb) had a problem using gtalk for video chatting.....

Hmm really? I have never gotten it working. I even tried chatting with myself (2 gmail accounts, one on phone one on PC) and I couldn't get video. I've never been able to get it working
Oh I've never used it phone to pc, just phone to phone

In that case, neither phone could initiate a video chat. Just showed voice chat. I tried it with a friend of mine.
Haven't tried phone to PC, but like others Android to Android works. Actually, let me clarify - GB to HC work, my brother has a Xoom (the jerk).
Hmm I just tried it at home on my personal laptop (was at work earlier) .. I can receive video from my laptop but I cannot use the front camera on my phone nor do I see anything but my GChat avatar on my laptop. Any ideas?

FYI just flashed ACS Go Green ROM and I still have the same exact issue: no front facing camera and absolutely no video streamed outbound from the phone.
I dont know if youve tried this yet but here's a link to a g-talk app in the quote from the thread linked under the quote.....

Hmmm this is strange..... have you tried it on a stock rooted rom? Sometimes a tweak in a custom rom can break another fix that usually works I don't know.what else it could be :/
i have had no succses withbl google... every other(qik.tango) one i tried worked fine...

I think this is one of the reasons why we don't have GingerBread yet, because the front facing camera needs tweaking in code for Google Video Chat. If it doesn't work on leaked GB versions, you might as well forget about it until GB is officially released, or a newer leak.

Yep I've pretty much given up on it. Apparently I am one of the few people with any issues But it's not a huge dealbreaker.

first rule of a rom: PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR ETAS.
it will be completed once feb gets all the work done. don't rush him, he's doing this for free.

Never. Typically ported OSs (ROMs) are always a work in progress. I mean Team Cyanogen has 252+ updates of Gingerbread alone.
Lol and they keep rolling out...

ah see? that's the thing.. we know the issue, we just don't know how to solve it as of now
but no worries, feb is working with devs from the DHD, who got their camera working.
Currently on the Creamed Glacier ROM by feb and was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the music force closing? dunno if there was a fix yet.
In my experience, ive also had the FC music app, but there was always another music app installed right next to it. Im not sure if the force closing app is the stock ICS music player and the one that works is google music or w/e they are calling it. but for the time being i have just uninstalled the force closing app and used the remaining with no problems.
so yea you are not the only one with that issue.
