[REQ]Mythamps Nexus contacts theme

A few weeks back, I could get this working on a Sense FroYo rom. (for the life of me, I can't remember what one it was)
Since flashing different roms, I haven't been able to make it work on any. Always results in the contacts app being removed.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

Really nice.
Di someone succed to flash that on a CM6 ROM? I'm too afraid to do that.
Works on latest DeFrost.
I love the theme, especially the dialer look.

Sound more complicated, here are some stuff I don't Understand very weel.
They are located from post #16 in the original thread you linked in first post:
"U have to rename the file cm6phone.APK to Phone.apk and then dump it in the update.zip, reflash and goodluck. Thanks all"
"I think the CM Rom owners need to get some help from their romdev gurus there"
"No that recovery update is for stock rom owners,
this mod is not working for CM6 users"
Yeah, I don't think its working for CM6. Check the first post in that thread, it links to a few pages for cm6 users.

Yeah, I tried the CM6 modified version, and they work pretty well.
Unfortunately, they are not up-to-date with the screenshots ( older version)
I cannot believe that someone here is not intersted by porting this theme to CM6 to our Desire...
Would be awesome
The complete theme looks sweet (not only the contacts.apk) ! Might try porting it soon, but hoping someone will do it sooner

Problem with installing live wallpaper in wildfire

Hello peoples.
I'm new here, and sorry for my bad language =).
I am facing an issue with installing the live wallpaper in my htc wildfire. I have already go thru some similar threads actually, but I still decided to open a new thread to state my problem clearly. I'm sorry if I'm wrong to do so =).
I've actually found a nexus one live wallpaper ( with I'm desperating for ) in this forum. However, after I installed the .apk file, nothing happen. I have tried to launch it from astro file manager and it says "Activity not found".
At home screen, I choose to change wallpaper, and the live wallpaper doesnt appear there. Same goes to home, htc sense and my lovely ADW launcher.
I have seen people using that livewallpaper in youtube videos, so it should be usable for wildfire right? What is wrong?
Your replies and views are greatly appreciated =). Thank you
If you're using stock ROM, Live wallpappers are not supported. They are supported in custom ROMs.
and finally there's a reply from you guys T_T.
thank you so much buddy.
stock rom means, the original rom comes with purchase? ( i guess so ).
thanks for your info =)
Yes indeed, stock = original rom.
If load a custom rom to my phone & don't like it, would I able to load the stock rom??

I doubt froyo would add live wallpapers. By the way why are there no lwp on the wildfire? the hero has them with 2.1 and that has nearly the same cpu

Need some help and guidelines for my new galaxy s

Hello
Just bought myself a galaxy s i9000.
I come from using the htc hero and are familiar with custom roms, but for the hero the choices are few and easy but for the galaxy s there is jungle of choices.
Can somebody help me find a rom thats fast and works good with the launcherpro launcher?
I am going to root my phone with the z4root app. Is it the like the hero, that you download youre rom and flash it in recovery?
Thanks for all help
I use doc's rom personally, it works great for me, and it comes with launcherpro as one of the default apps, so i assume they work well together
there are detailed instructions in his thread

Most of the 'themes' you see will be either based on customised ROMS or (more likely) from using various Launchers.
I use (and recommend) LauncherPro on my HTC Desire. Other good ones ive tried are GO Launcher, ADW, OpenHome. All of these are available in the App Market. Try a few and see which ones you like. They wont delete Sense - its easy enough to revert back (use the app 'Clear Default Home' from the market if you are struggling).
You now have hours/days of tinkering ahead trying out all the looks and features of your shiny phone

Droid X - Default

OK guys first off: This is my first android device, and I want it to be as fast as possible.
This being said, I just want either a DEFAULT Froyo 2.2 or default gingerbread 2.3 which means none of these stupid themes that motorola puts on it. Now here is why I'm here:
Is there a way without having to go through like 20 different steps in order to get the default android skin on my phone? I've jailbroken many a iphone but this android stuff is very new to me, so I was also wondering if there is an IRC channel I can go to or if someone would be nice enough to either guide me through or pm me through how to root my new phone?
thanks,
mike

I have been reading the stickies, I've also been reading about the roms and themes but there is some lingo in those posts as well as concerns.
For instance for the themes I've read several posts where it says to just load the themes on a rooted device, and yet others like the wiki here which says that specific themes are for specific ROMS.
Another problem with the stickies is I have no clue when someone last updated them, because some like the one for "Easy Root" or "z4root" MUST be old cause you can not find that app on the android Market place.
I just want to make sure that I'm getting the latest programs and such. I also wrote this because the one thing that me as well as a lot of other people want which is: Default Froyo. I dont want a custom theme, I want stock Froyo in all it's glory! Can anyone tell me of an easy to install ROM or easy to install theme that has this??
P.S. If there is an IRC channel for XDA could someone tell me about it? Cause I cant seem to find it at all

I have read most of that, and I get the first post, but then you seem to completely back track on the second one. I want the default Android skin from google on my droidx, so When you first said root I understood; but then you all of a sudden said that I need to deodex it as well.
This is the confusing part since you say in your post that it already included the root as well. So which should I do? root > bootstrapper > deodex? or just deodex then bootstrapper?
You have to be rooted, then flash the deodexed stock rom in recovery mode (hence the boot strapper). From there you can theme to your hearts content and even change the font if you wish.

Just because an app isn't on the market doesn't mean that it's old and no longer useful. And there are a million guides on how to do this. Just find a recent one and go for it
Alright I've done some more reading on different sites like engagdet and there seems to be a legal program called "LauncherPro" Apparently you can reskin with this program, Has anybody used this program? and if so how good / bad is it for removing blur?
My main concern is rooting my phone as well as getting rid of BLUR cause I believe that will slow it down considerably. thanks!
Unfortunately, launcherpro doesn't remove or replace blur, nor does it change things like the notification bar or lockscreen. Its a launcher app, meaning that it runs over blur, replaces the homescreens and launcher buttons. It's great for what it does but for your purposes won't work.
Honestly, I think the best route for you would be to take the time to root and flash a blurless rom like liberty or fission.

flyingpenguin is right.
Liberty is Blurless and you an install a Gingerbread theme on it straight from it's Liberty Toolbox app!
Check out my set up... I have Liberty 1.5 with the Gingerbread Blue theme and ADW Launcher EX.
What about the themes we were talking about earlier? Are those only available AFTER you flash to a ROM? Or are those just available after the deodexing? If so wouldn't that be the best and easiest way to get the stock froyo theme on my phone? or is that like launcherpro in that it just launches the theme over blur?
Also, I've seen your attachments and to be honest I don't like the look of it one bit, I just want a rom with stock froyo or even better stock Gingerbread.
Is there a rom out there with either of those stock? I should be getting my new droid x in the mail by next monday, at which time I'll probably be asking for more help, since I don't want my phone to brick the first day of use lol.
I used the z4 root on my dx. It took a couple of tries but it worked. I went with liberty 1.5 as my first custom rom and I love it. There are plenty of plain roms out there you can try. I just wanted something with a little more umph. Good luck!

well does liberty 1.5 come with the stock froyo skin? or is there a Gingerbread rom already out for the DX?

Liberty comes with a froyo-ish skin. There isn't a GB ROM out for the X yet, but droid2169 (same dev who does Rubix) is working on getting GB to boot on the Dx. He's getting close on it, but there are still some bugs to be worked out. Had some issues with USB mounting last time I checked with him.
The closest you are going to get to vanilla android is either focused or fission
What is this Vanilla thing you are talking about? Is that the name of a ROM that has default froyo / gingerbread them on it?
Also, I don't know if someone already answered this, but the themse people were talking about before: Are they available right after deodexing? Or do I Nhave to install a specific rom THEN theme my phone?
Vanilla means original android experience or as close to it as the kernel allows. That's how I understand it.

oohh ok
If you want to theme the stock rom you have to deodex your phone and then load theme... if you want to theme a rom you need to load the rom (which are already deodexed) then load the theme.... themes are rom specific ie an apex rom is meant for apex and a liberty theme is meant for liberty... there's guides all over the internet for any method you choose
