I just changed my bootup screen and added sound to it, but I have run across a glitch and I dont know if its something I did, or because we are now using Nand.
I installed Motomans boot animation screen to the desire dft build, and the droid sound, but the sound file will play thru, but the animation doesnt. I know I have read for other phones, people only getting one or the other to work, but I got both, the sound clip is 10sec long, and from my gathering the animation is approx 30 second long, but it doesnt play that long. They start together, but once the sound file is done 2 seconds later the screen is at the lock screen. I also tried a longer sound file thinking that might have caused it, so I added a 30 sec sound file, but still in about 12 seconds they both stop and the system is loaded.
Does anyone have a clue what I might be doing wrong if anything? Just an FYI, if I play the animation by itself, then it will run the full 30 seconds alone, and I am assuming the 30 second sound file will too alone.
If anyone can shed some insight that would be great.

Ok well I have to confess Im a newbie with this, my 1st windows mobile phone.
So I installed TF3D then I had no MP4 playback so I removed it and now on my today screen there is nothing and also I still can't play MP4's
Please someone help me, is there a factory reset or something I just want it back to how it was when I took it out of the box.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance
To get it back to factory defaults, you have to perform a hard-reset. This is an easy operation.
1) Turn off your unit
2) Hold the two (silver) buttons below the screen
3) Turn on the unit while holding the buttons
4) Follow on-screen instructions
5) It's done!
TF3D installs so much crap, it's better not to install it if you intend to uninstall it again. Just leaves too much behind.
install advanced config
choose more options out of the menu
edit file type extension
search fpr mp4
change it to "WMPlayer.exe"
problem solved. not sure if it works as workarround for tf3d too.
So I did factory reset and got everything back, but one minor poblem.
When I answer a call my phone goes into sleep mode in 10 seconds but I'm still on the call and when i goto into settings and power and over to advance and set back light to turn off in 1 min and phone turns off in 2 mins it doesnt keep the phone on. I found out when I get short calls and lok at my screen after 5 secs and its off already. But my phone is set to sleep in 2 mins and backlight off in 1 min. Is there something else that needs to be done?
So my problem is when on a call i goto start-settings-system-power-advanced its says backlight is set to 10 seconds so ill change itto 1 min but when i hang up and call again it reverts back to 10 seconds so evverytime i change it its only applies the change for that one call. So is there anyway of fixing this?
Another update about my problem, while usig all other phone functions backlight shuts off at 1 min as programed, but on call it still goes into sleep mode in 10 seconds. So I tried staying on a call with my bluetooth headset and surf the net and problem still exists while on call... there must be a fix to this...someone pls help I have tried hard resetting to factory settings twice to no avail.
I think there is automatic screen turn off while on the call.
Yes your right, but mine is stuck at 10 seconds and when i click on the battery icon and click on advanced its set to 10 seconds so i change it to 1 min then make a phone call and it reverts back to 10 seconds by itself. Im trying to find a way to keep it at 1 min. Anyone have an answer for me?
Called Sony Ericsson support and their phones are going into sleep mode after 10 seconds too, so its not just my phone and asked them to put in a trouble ticket to be fixed for next firmware upgrade.
hey. ever since i intalled the new official rom, i have been having very wierd problem wit media panel. wen i connect my headphones, (not bluetooth but wired ones) it plays ok. but after playinf three tracks it always stop playing. i have to turn on device (press the power button once to turn on display) and then the nex track strats by itself. but if i don turn on device, nothing plays. m really confused.
did i change some settings without knowing. could some one help me out. i really like this panal

Im having issues with the media panel ever since I updated my phone as well. When I start playing a track it plays for a sec, then it freezes for a long while (animations working but no sound) and continues after that.
Does it still turn optical joystick on ? Cause the previous ROM does exactly that.
hey
after 4 days of hard resting and reinstalling, i finally figured the problem. media panel seems to get stuck lik in the 1st post every time i change File cache (don no if one of them or both seem to be the problem.). so far i tried to softwares, xperiatweaks 2 beta and also advanced config.....
anyone have any idea or can fix it?
plz
thnkx
On mine there is another bug (generic uk r1aa008): video taken with camera play slow, instead mp4 also with high bitrate play well.
Anyone get the same?
I have also been having this problem since upgrading to R2A. I've put it down to some power saving changes SE have tried to introduce.
On the old version of the Media Panel it never turned the backlight off and the timer bar always updated to show the position in the track.
With this version the when the back light dims some screen updates no longer occur (e.g. the timer bar) and the eventually the screen will turn off. It then seems to stop playing after 2 or 3 tracks after the screen has turned off.
I've not worked out anyway to fix it - just hoping when the official ROM update is released via SE it will be fixed then.
So I enabled the flipping in animation every time I hit the windows key but there's a slight delay before anything happens and it shows just the background and then maybe .5-1 second later everything comes in. How can I make it so there is little to no delay?
Thanks
Anyone?? Should I post this in the development/hacking board?
Hi all,
Kind of a strange issue I'm noticing with my Nexus 4. The phone seems to, by default, have a screen turn-off time setting of "after 15 seconds of inactivity" for the display options. I tend to like to have my screen stay on a little longer especially if I'm in the middle of a conversation or I'm watching something and my attention gets diverted momentarily. 15 seconds is just way too short. So I change it to a larger value, like 2 minutes for example, and the setting keeps, for a while. But every so often it will start turning off quickly again and when I check, sure enough it has reverted back to 15 seconds. I'm not sure what's causing this... an app? An errant setting with the phone? Weird bug that has yet to be fixed? Rebooting the phone does not seem to solve the issue, nor has anything else I've tried to this point.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi guys i seem to have a problem which i cant figure out where its coming from. This is my second device that does this, basically sometimes after i unlock the screen i get a glitch or scramble on bottom half of the screen for about 1-2 seconds, mostly when it unlocks to the contacts or call log tab.
At first i thought its because i had disabled the transition animations and window animation scale in developer mode but it did it after i set them back to default as well.
After i thought its from the light animation on the lockscreen and i disabled that as well but same issue persists.
It only happens 3-4 times per day.
I exchanged my first device because of this and now second one is doing the same. I will try and post a picture later. So is anyone else experiencing this or do i switch again?
