Handcent SMS with WildPuzzle Rom 0.7 - no LED Notification?? - Wildfire General

Hi Guys
After i installed the newest WildPuzzle (0.7) and installed the Handcent SMS App, there a missing Options in the Settings of Handcent. In Cyanogen Mod i was able to choose the LED Blinking Frequency and the Color.
In WildPuzzle i can only activate "LED Blink" and all other Options are missing When i activate the LED Blink, it does not work. The LED won't flash on incoming Text Message.
Is there any Fix for this? I need this Option for the Silent Mode.
Greetings,
Endless Dark

email danne_jo with this problem, i've also got this problem and i'm going to email it to him aswell, porbably a ROM problem. Hopefully fixed in v0.8 ???

LED notification

Hi guys, I have a quick question, something I'm trying to figure out.
I downloaded the cab on the tweaks thread for the LED notification.
Before that i'd get the LED flashing green when I get a text message.
after installing the cab, no real difference? after missed call, email etc - there is no led flashing...am i missing something here. The LED flashes green when i get a text (but it did that anyway).

did you change it in Start-Settings-Sound And Totifications?
Hello - I've been looking in that menu set, but there's nothing there regarding LED notification :S just notification sounds...
In that control panel, you have to tick the option "Flash light" for each event you want the LED notification for.
It's really weird, because I can not see those options there at all.
Defo have installed that CAB as it is showing in the programs management as "Microsoft LED notification enabler".

Hi,
I got the Leo and I want to have the led notification without time limit. Now the work only for 10min.
I saw that there is setting in Sound et Notifiaction (your image), but in my phone this option (Flash light for ...) is disable.
How can I activate this option to set the notification time? Thank you
Hi,
try the attached CAB! I cabbed this yesterday to enable the led notification (unlimited blinking) for SMS, email, dismissed calls and schedule notifications. After installing the CAB you can change all setting via the notifications tab. It just enables all settings and sets some reasonable values.
Bye,
Sebastian

Same here. Is it for a Hotmail account ? I wonder if it's the reason because it is not set by default.

Not only, also for gmail and my work email ...
Uuuups, I am sorry. I have forgotten to remove the German strings from the CAB. I have attached a new CAB to this post. This enables the LEDs notification. I haven't tried this for email on the HD2, but on my Touch Diamond 2 the LED notifications for emails didn't work if I triggered a manual send/receive of emails.
Just bumping this up. The LED notification for new email *doesn't work*, and this seems like a pretty serious flaw on such a slick, expensive gizmo.

Disable factory SMS (messaging)

I ve installed the CHOMPSMS and wonder how can i disable the factory messaging program (i installed ASTRO). I tried to change the LED Blink colour in ChompSMS but it doesn work, i need to set the light from Factory Messaging.
Please help
p.s. Does anyone know if there is an app that i can add the A-Z alpha onto my contact phone list so that i dun have to scroll around.
You can turn off the notifications on the stock app by going into the apps settings and scrolling to the bottom unchecking the box that says "notifications."
I hope this answers your question, and as far as changing the LED color, you need to be rooted in order to do that.
thank you!
I have rooted but i am unable to adjust the LED colour from ChompSMS, only can do it in factory messaging.
Uncheck the notification only not showing the icon right? does it disable the app permenatly?

I use handsent sms but also have sms popup. I have the notification off on the default and handsent. I use the sms popup because it lets me use trackball for different color for different contacts. Extra work but it works for me.

I quit using Handcent a while back because I wasn't using any of the features. I haven't used it since I got my N1 actually. I used to do a lot of work with the Dev on it. With SMS popup I can't get the trackball to work at all. You're using the LED setting right?
This is how I have the N1 set for trackball notification. 1st I have missed reminder install. I have the red selected for missed sms and blue for calls.I use handset for default sms but have the notification off, also the default messaging notifications off. I then have sms popup. Sms popup is enabled, for the quick yes or now replies, under the contacts notifications have different colors selected for contacts.

You're using the "LED" selections right? I'm trying it and none of them are lighting the trackball.

In what application? Please be more explicit.
I have the same setup as jerrycycle (coincidence) and for example using SMS Popup - Notification | Default Notifications | Enable Notifications (disable notification in the standard messaging app) and then go the the Led Configuration section and set your options. Now, use the Test Notification function to test your LED's.
You need a custom ROM but you should not use any LED mod for this.
The led will work for the chompsms and handcent. The custom option has to me the chosen option and the time has to be set. There is a 3 second delay before the custom colors work. I can't say what to set it on without reconfiguring my phone to test.

Making trackball blink faster

Hallo, i'd like to know, is there possibility to make faster blinking trackball?
I have a Cronos 2.1 1.4.1 710MHZ
yeah i agree too. the trackball flashing notifications should flash faster so we don't have to stare at the trackball to see if we have any unread sms etc.
For the sms you can use chomp sms. You can choose in the options fast blinking. The blinking is also foreever untill you read your message.
Chomp sms - hmm. I can use it. If I install other sms apk i need to delete original mms.apk. Than i dont receive sms or mms

[Q] Duplicate Message Notifications

Hi Guys,
I have had an ongoing problem with my phone for some time, persisting throughout different ROM flashes and full wipes.
I use Handcent SMS, and have notifications turned on, it's a blue icon.
I receive this notification, and another mysterious one from i don't know where.
The other one is white and displayed in the photo below.
One would assume it's the default SMS app that's displaying it, but...
I have most definitely turned off notifications in the default SMS application, and have no other SMS apps installed, just the default "Messaging" and Handcent.
Also, when i read the message, it doesn't clear until i manually "Clear all notifications". IIRC, i even removed the default SMS app and still got those messages, but i can't be certain of that as it was awhile ago.
Has anyone else experienced this, and know of a way i can fix?
Any help would be most appreciated.
The notifications appear as such...
"You have an unread message"
"You have 0 unread messages"

A bit hard to to be sure without a screen shot - try uploading it to imageshack and posting a link (you'll to need to change the link a bit such that XDA doesn't recognize it as a link).
Most likely it is the default messaging app, Please recheck that notifications are disabled there. If they are, you can also try to enable them, and see if you now get 3 notifications on each SMS....
Hi, Thanks for the reply =)
Interesting, I enabled notifications in the default sms app and now i get 3 notifications!
So i can only assume it's something else!
I have two screenshots...

This is a photo with the 3 notifications (if i enable notification in the default sms app)

Ok, so it aint the default messaging app. What happens when you press on the notification? Maybe it opens this app?
I guess this might be a little extreme, but you can always do a full wipe, and then do a clean install - verify you get only one notification with a clean install (no apps). Then start installing your apps and try to find out which is the offending app. If you do want to do this, I suggest you wait a few days, I should release a bugfix version 1.1.9 shortly.
BTW, there are easier/better ways to take screen shots, like "ShootMe" on the market, or the ddms utility which comes with the andoird SDK if you have adb working.

Great, thanks very much for the advice. I'll wait for the new Floyo release and try a process of elimination.
Also, loving your Floyo ROM.. it's improved my Hero immensly \o/
Much appreciated, keep up the good work =)

CM10.1 + GOSMS Light Notification Issue

Hi all,
Recently got my Nexus 4 and first thing I did was flash the latest CM10.1 nightly along with the latest franco kernel. My problem at the moment is that using the CM10 pulse notification options I can't seem to get it to light up when GOSMS receives a message, the notification is there in the status bar but no flashing LED. It works fine for all other notifications (Missed call, gmail etc.) but not GOSMS.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Russ
Actually Whatsapp is the same so I'm wondering if it's a general CM10.1 issue?
Facebook Messenger and Stock SMS Messaging app light up OK, think it's time to switch back to stock
