I am gonna try this right now, i will post what happens i have a new D2 comin this week so I aint scared...

This ROM has the coolest animations ive seen on any rom for any phone ive ever had.
**FM RADIO WORKS!!!
***Ok, so the physical keyboard acts up when you use alt. and alt. lock. Only thing ive found so far. How hard would it be for someone to fix that? This is a really cool rom, better than anything available for the D2...Sorry devs

Dang. The swype i have for D2 doesnt, but i bet if you install swype apk from DX it will. I will try it.

Confirmation from drod2169 on twitter saying it would work. Swype is a problem and a few other issues.

any idea where i could get the apk for it?

I flashed both of the roms in the link in the first post. They both have awesome animation. Why arent we getting that kind of stuff on the D2, devs?

Xda does not want swype apk's posted. Read a thread in g1 section by mod mssmison. Pretty sure you could find it with a touch of googling.

Lol, yeah just swype policy, but it's ok if it's on the phone from the start

Looks like good stuff. Has anyone tested most the features? enterprise mail? google apps? all the basic stuff? Who's first to compile a list of what doesn't work?
I'll be looking forward to someone getting this fully functional. I'm sure it won't take too long now that the discovery was made.

I have the physical keyboard 100% working Im trying to figure out the camera right now. Im not the smartest guy in the world, and i figured this out, so i give it til next weekend and we should have a few more options...

I been messin with it over the weekend, and FINALLY got it. Physical keyboard, swype, camera and video playback work. I know someone else already ported this rom to the D2 and hes tryin to get Rumm to put it out, but if anyone knows the guy, help us out

[Q] Best Rom for Froyo 2.2.1. & rooted Samsung Epic

I have a samsung epic rooted currently on Froyo 2.2.1 with clockwork mod
Im looking for a rom thats fast, has no issues & has the homescreen that look like the evo, even if a rom makes my Epic run like its a Evo is cool too? please let me know

Htc sense isn't available for Samsung Epic. But...you can install Beautiful Widgets app to look like the Htc Sense clock for your home screen.

my phone is rooted, & from what i read, when your fones rooted, it puts a program called super user on your phone which allows you access to apps regular phones cant & that those apps are free. & after reading the reviews on beautiful wigets ppl are saying that the programs weather is often wrong like it says sunny @ 2a.m. lol n that it sucks battery dry n slow fone down
have yu had problems out if it.

Guy, don't believe everything you read. I know this might come as a complete surprise but not everyone knows what they are doing with their phones and misinformation is spread constantly. Try it for yourself, if you don't like it, refund it in less than 24hrs.
Just because you rooted doesn't mean pay apps are free. Yes there are apps that need root to function properly that are free, as there are also ones that are not free.

I use beautiful widgets for my clock and weather and have seen no problems with it being correct. I also use LauncherPro, both of these together basically mimics EVO's Sense UI perfectly.

Superuser refers to the user's ability to access system functions. With android it essentially grants admin access allowing you to modify things usually 'off-limits' to standard users.

C'mon people don't be so harsh.
Basically the idea is just to let you access functions that are generally blocked by sprint or samsung. How you want to use it is up to you.

[Q/REQ] Why is a WP7 Lockscreen unthinkable?

Hi dear android community,
My question is: why is a WP7 Lockscreen for Android quite unthinkable?

In threads like this often people ask for that kind of lockscreen but the answer is: no one did that yet.
Is it so difficult? I think no sourcecode, even if we had it, could be used for android development right? Therefore one had to write this program from the beginning?
I so eagerly want that lockscreen :/

Correct me, but i think this kind of lockscreen is possible to build with widgetlocker.

It looks like a full screen transparent status bar pulldown with an image on it to me...

Yes, something like this...with nice looking date and time...nothing else I ask for

Look at galaxy s 2 lock screen
Its like that except screen can be unlocked by swiping the screen anywhere..
hopefully we can port it or something really like it.

+1 I would like to see a thread to this as well, so that we can follow the development!

The thread was removed for various reasons I believe. They have a website dedicated to this project. I'm on the phone so I cant link it right now but its a pretty cool idea. They have some cool stuff cooking.

[Q] Elite Sense Battery Icon

Just installed Elite Sense V2.6 (unthemed) and its running beautifully. Unfortunately I thought it would include the circular battery icon in the screenshots (Rom thread link)
Should I have installed the themed version or is there a way to update that icon?

Ya should all try it, the UOT allows heavy changes to the rom, and nice customization for anyone. Beats theming roms yourself.

No, not mine, and it's indeed a great site. And the only thing he needs to do to mod the ROM is take 2-3 files out of it - and decide what mods he likes.

If it its that important to you, why don't you use your stock back up or download stock rom (royal, iced, whatever) and extract it yourself? There is really no need to double (or triple) post the same question...

I ment to post this in the twice and why the hell are you guys baggin on me? Im just tryin to customize my phone the way I want it. I didnt tripple post this. I ment to post this twice so I could get some actual help from people who actually care... The people in "themes and apps" are more friendly than people in "Q's and A's".. If I new how to delete post I would!

No, only mods can do it. In this case don't worry about it...no biggie. As you can see though, there's always someone who will notice and make a comment if you double post (sometimes a regular, sometimes a mod), so it's just not worth it.
As for your original question, even if you find the messaging APKs from the MT4G stock ROM, they may not work on VU. There's big differences in the Sense framework between the two ROMs, so the apps may not be "plug and play". Good luck though.

It's not going to work, framework compatibility issues as stated by TJ.
Have you tried GoSMS Pro? Awesome app, and it's not bulky and laggy like Handcent. I use it all the time, very sleek and customizable. You can make it look like the stock messaging app if so desired.
