I have tried different reg editors to change settings but get message access denied.I recently tried to update the Net framework version to 3.5 by installing the Cab file and going to the reg editor and setting the 2 versions by changing the 0 and 1 around but again access denied.I used a configuration program and set it to run the new version,( 3,5 which it sees) pushed apply and closed but when i look at the reg editior the old version is still set to 1,and the new version 0.I have done these chages, soft reset etc but nothing changes

Hi
I have discovered this site just now as a was searching for information on how to updrade by qtek9100 for a2dp and use a bluetooth stereoheadset with it.
I found some leads but they all ended in my not being allowed to change the registry settings for
"local machine"\drivers\BuiltIn\"
I can not add BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd and therefore not conclude the setup.
Is there anyone who can give me some advice on how to go about this ?
I have updgraded to the latest official ROM for sweden.
Lars
Try the CAB file attached
You might have to unlock your phone before you try and change the registry settings.

The cause for the problem may be one of the following:
1, you used a desktop ActiveSync-based registry editor.
Don't use desktop tools to chage the Registry. As is pointed out in my Registry Editor Bible, it won't work. Use a PPC-only registry editor.
2, you didn't shut down the PPC entirely after this (or waited long enough for the changes to be written to the Flash ROM as is explained in many of my WM5 & registry & flash ROM-related articles); this is why the changes haven't been stored.
Note that this has NOTHING to do with your phone's being locked. You do NOT need to unlock your device.
Hi all,
My other half bought a Touch Plus yesterday and I've been adding software to it to make all that much better.
The contacts are stored on the SIM and I've copied them all into Pocket Outlook. I then made the reg tweak to hide the SIM contacts which worked immediately, hiding all the SIM contacts. However, when I soft reset the device (via software or holding down the power button and then re-powering on) the registry value goes back to what it was - showing the SIM contacts!
Is there any way that reg value can be kept to 0?
Cheers
ND
Hi
I have the exact same problem and asked this question previously here, never got a answer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359152
The first thing after a reboot is to hide my SIM contacts... If anyone have a solution it would be very nice.
Kind Regards
I have found a solution...
Download dotfred's excellent TaskManager/Registry Editor from: http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
Copy the exe to wherever you want on your device,
Use the registry editor in there to set the ShowSIM value to 0.
Export that registry value... to \My Documents\HideSIMContacts.reg (for example)
Create a shortcut to the task manager exe in Windows\StartUp.
Edit the properties of that shortcut (I use Resco Explorer) and set the Target as follows:
"<path to task manager>" \My Documents\HideSIMContacts.reg /silent
Make sure you have "'s around the Task Manager path BUT NOT around the path for the reg file.
Reboot...
Bob's your uncle.
I had the same issue with my previous Orange UK stock ROM, don’t know why the registry tweak does NOT stick after SR on certain ROM’s :-/ so in the end I resorted to installing the attached cab which fixed the issue
On my current HTCAsia WEE ROM the registry tweak works so no need for the cab fix! Anyway for those with ROM where the registry tweak does NOT work, you can use the fix mentioned here by NinjaDonkey or install the attached cab and soft reset, that should do the trick
AWESOME...thanks, I have a locked rogers HTC Touch and have tried many different Reg tweaks that would not stick to hide the SIMs in my Contacts, but the NIKI Sim fix above finally got it. Thanks, thank you, thanx again.

I downloaded and installed this but it didn't work. What did I do wrong??
tks,works well
I have been using the FdcSoft Soft Key version 1.3 control panel applet for ages on my Wizard and have it as a OEM package (not much of one...) for including in ROMs. I noticed a newer version is available from the DotFred site - version 1.4. I downloaded this and included it in a ROM, however I noticed that it by default now appears in the Personal Settings page and not the System one as version 1.3 does. I used the drop-down box to change this and it prompts you to soft reset, which I did but it still appears on the Personal page.
I tried this a few times but it never changes so I took the registry key and value it creates
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Soft Key]
"Group"=dword:00000000
and set the Group value to dword:00000001 which should be the correct value and cooked it into a ROM and re-flashed. However it still appears on the Personal Settings page and the registry value reverts to dword:00000000. I then re-cooked with the older version 1.3 and all is well
I know it's not a big deal but I am used to seeing this applet on the System Settings page....
Am I doing something wrong?
Cheers
Andy
Hi all,
Alot of flashing been going on recently, and XDA_UC is pretty handy for getting all the cabs installed back on the device, this coupled with the ability to have my email/bluetooth and various other settings imported is excellent.
But still the main slow down when installing a new rom is that once the programs are installed they still need the program specific settings adjusted. Things like entering registration info for resco and Galarm or seting up tomtom.
Is it possible to automate this part of the install process?
Export the programs' registry value to reg file and put into XDA_UC folder
Try to find them in HKLM and HKCU
thanks,
i'll be flashing another ROM over the next few days, i'll see how this works
Hi all,
I have downloaded few tweaks & was trying those. I found that the phone is quite fast. But when I found that there is no SETTINGS menu available I was frustrated. I dunno exactly when it got deleted. How can I get it back to start menu? Can anyone let me know if any registry values to be entered to enabling it again? I believe that people here will help me out definitely. Is there any other way which from which i can restore the settings in start menu?
Thanks to you all in advance...
Waiting reply..... Please help me to get rid of this problem...
Mandar M. Oke.
Are we speaking about "cooking development" or simply you installed some tweaks in a downloaded custom rom?
Some minimum informations are required such:
_WM build
_which kind of tweaks did you make.
_a build log
Maybe u changed thé Hidesettings value to 1 instead of 0 if u use Manila ...
settings menu for >= WM5 <= WM 6.1
