Anyone noticing warmer then usual battery temps on their MyTouch 4G... My battery for some reason runs rather warm (generally 31-34 throughout the day depending on use) and yesterday when I was charging the battery the back case was extremely warm... i went into system and saw a battery temp reading of 43.9C.
Does anyone else experience this? is this normal and should i not worry or is something wrong and I should take it up with T-mo?

Im not sure if this is normal but the cpu temperature after like 5 mins of use always goes up to 30 degrees is this normal? I'm not overclocking and not doign much but you can feel that the battery gets real warm...
Do you guys experience the same?
CPU temperature of what device?
30C is low or normal for most PCs, and though I am not sure about mobile devices in some parts of the world it is room temperature this time of year.
For a better (more specific) answer please write what device you are measuring the temperature for and what software you are using to do it.
P.S.
The feel of the battery has nothing to do with CPU temperature. They often get warm specially while charging.
On my prophet, if I charge it, OC it and use all the radios (Bluetooth, wifi) and do processor intensive stuff like watching a video, battery status tells me it's at about 40... I haven't noticed any damage, but I only do things like this very occasionally. I don't think it should be a problem although if the battery gets too hot it will degrade.
allright im using htc p4350 Herald and I'm measuring with battery status pro...
But it might just be fine if l3v5y says somethin about 40 degrees...
I would try and keep the temp down as it will last longer running cooler, but I don't think it will impact too heavily.
well...when we all talk about limitations and issues of android build the first thing we always say is "battery life", but what concerns me more is the overheating.
i know the 2 issues are related to each other, but i don't care about battery life as much as the device temperature, because it might damage the internal hardware right? plus nobody likes to hold a piece of burning plastic in their hand
Does yours always get hot? Mine got hot during the first run of Android(all that loading crap). I got a little worried to I let the phone cool while off. Been running it for hours now and it feels exactly as it does in Windows. And battery life is pretty awesome.
Mine got 44 degrees celcius yesterday.. not really good for our phones I think.
The reason I use setcpu is more to control overheating than improving battery life. You can set it to underclock whenever it gets to a certain temperature.
I'm probably going to pick up a G2 pretty soon and was wondering how everyone was doing as far as battery life goes.
Sound off in the comments below if you have anything else to add!
Ok, weird story that happened to me today. I forgot to plug my G2 to the charger last night before I went to sleep, it had already been charged. I woke up, it's battery reading was at 100%...
Such is life with a G2
great using an evo battery and i can go atleast 36 with heavy usage
Along with mild usage, I can go about a day and a half before it's time to plug it in.

I have the chichi red batts in ours and they go about 9-12hr with true heavy usage, read constant data up/down or games. The stock batts were good for 6-9hr. We live in an EDGE area 2-4 bars reception, screen brightness on auto, non root phones with all bloatware active.
Of course having said the above, if I fall asleep with 20% batt and sleep 8-12hr I wake up with 18-20%, 20min on the charger and I've got 50% batt.
Awesome. With my usage, I last around 12-18 hours, depending on intensive or normal. Still plan to order that 1800mAh Galileo battery.. lol.
The battery life is very good, but I don't use wi-fi and only 2g data. Even with tweaks it took a week for the phone to have long battery life. I have no idea if the battery had to be "conditioned" - doesn't make sense since it's lithium, or calibrated to the phone's battery meter.
This is good...It sounds way better than the G1 Battery.

Anyone else's phone running extremely hot since the update? When I have it charging and streaming pandora it just sucks my battery. Before this update, I was able to do this without taking a hit on the battery.
I went to the sprint store yesterday and they tested my batter and it was good. The radio in particular gets extremely hot, put it in airplane mode for a few minutes and the phone cools off. I'm wondering if I should load a different kernel. Could that potentially help? I noticed most of the kernels are overclocked, which I don't really care about. All I want is something stable that gets decent battery life (6-8 hours) of heavy use and the ability to have it on the charger without draining the battery to 50% after I unplug it.
Anyone else seeing any issues with heat and poor battery life?

Download either Spare Parts or BatteryHistory from the market.
Open the battery stats and toggle the top drop down to sensor usage. See if any application has a high % of usage. If nothing with high usage, then toggle partial wake usage from the same top drop down and look for the same.
My OTA install is wonky with the Gallery. The moment I open it, it destroys the battery with sensor usage. Even if the app isn't open.

I'm using spare parts right now. I don't see how you can find the percentage of usage. Android system is using about 30% (guessing) under sensor usage. Under partial wake usage, android system is about 10%.
Nothing that throws up a red flag.
Is this normal? The ambient temperature in my place is at least 32°c. After using the phone for extensive amount of time (browsing fb,9gag,chrome and watching YouTube). My battery will heat up at least 39°c - 40°c and my screen will heat up also. Even with case i can still feel its warmth. My brightness is at almost 10-20% all of the time. Im on always airplane mode and only using wifi so bad reception is not the issue why the phone is heating up. My battery is actually degraded (1180mah capacity) and waiting to be exchange. Even though its overheating i dont feel its throttling down what so ever (this phone is a beast!). Thanks, hope someone can shed some light with my concern.
