Usb cover question - Epic 4G General

I don't really close the cover on the Usb port on my phone too often for a few reasons im lazy and its hard to remember and I don't know if keeping it closed makes much of a difference. Should I keep the lid closed? And will keeping it open damage my phone?

I think you have to use the version floating around the forums. IT has been a few weeks but there is a thread discussing it and the link to the file works fine.
It just seems lose maybe I should take it to sprint and make them tighten it

I'd also be down so long as I can get back into download mode
Yes you can still get into download mode by pulling the battery holding both volume up and down plugging it in to the comp and then putting the battery back in. And I will messaging everyone back later tonight or tomorrow morning.

its probably not "worthy" enough to be a actual ROM right now.
Most things probably don't work...
so thats probably while..

thats beast bro! hope you get it working as much as possible.
Thank you all I have data working. I'll post some screens tomorrow morning.
Awesome frigid! I hope all the best with the rom

As much as I support this project, Sense has been shown to be an ass to port due to the closed sourced software. I believe the only phones to receive Sense by devs are those with similar hardware to HTC phones, such as the Nexus One and Desire.
But, good luck to you!
Wow impressive data working that's good
Just want to ask if everythings going all right?

midNIGHT keyboard fc

So this has been happening to me since day one with midnight. Well ever since the gb keyboard was put in. If I go from touch gb kb and slide open the hw kb I get a force close for the gb kb. My phone locks up for about 2 seconds. Its always happened to me no matter which version of midnight I was on. Btw can anyone throw the 2.1 keyboard my way? I hate the gingerbread kb anyways. Damn period is too close to the spacebar and I always end up hitting.it.so.this.happens lol also I use to be able to txt with one hand with 2.1 kb but I can't for the life of me on gb kb.

Anyway: you might try this Gingerbread Keyboard.

Maybe that will work better for you.
I use swype with my phone so I don't know if its the keyboard apk or something else.
Good luck
^thanks man. Gonna flash this soon. I only got upset because its something I see all the time in these forums. Personally id rather get banned than get pooped on by the forum renta cops.

How did you install your keyboard? My [formerly] MTM Blackout (i love it) would get the same force close for the longest time and i turned on the show keyboard setting button on on screen keyboard, restart, fix permissions, problem went away.
Just flash via clock work. The one above is the default loaded into midnight so I didn't work. But I picked up SwiftKey beta 2 and I have to say it's much better and I'm not getting the force close

"Gingerbread keyboard force close" would have been a great title. To bad you didn't use it. And since you caimed it was a midNight problem why not put your question in the thread where you got the rom from?

Sounds like it might be hardware damage. Did you check and see if the battery has a proper connection. Does it turn on and off by itself or only when you move it?
only when i trow it let say in a table a bit hard but if i just lay it it wont
If you throw your sensitive electronic device at a table, it shuts off? Stop throwing your phone.
Sounds like a loose battery or bad power connection somewhere.

Mine does the same thing when I drop my phone on my bed... It is caused by a little play between the battery and the battery cover. Apiece of paper folded and cut to the size of the battery and placed between the battery and cover has done the trick for me, and I believe it is just because of wear on the battery cover from pulling it too often...

If Duct Tape can't fix something (anything!) it's either damaged far beyond any hope for repair, or it wasn't really broke in the first place.
There's not a lot of middle ground.
Well phrased, and I'm glad that when my phone fell off the bathroom counter and bounced screen first off the hardwood floor, there wasn't a sign it had ever moved, aside from some dirt on the screen

Would be nice to have reversible plugs. The only thing I envy about the new iPhone.
A new magnetic micro usb would be even better. I love the way my plantronics headset just jumps on to the charger.

Mathematically that is rubbish....the majority of my posts are to help people.....there is no purpose to this discussion/thread at all, it is just someone having a moan and that is not what this forum is about.
If everyone created a thread when they felt like having a moan then this place would be chaos.
So instead of criticising me, why don't you take a little time out to reflect on that?
Additionally, if you have a problem with me then take it up with the moderators.

(coming out of nowhere)
I somewhere read that s4 will have wireless recharging. Is it true?
I mean, it's not that wireless electron flow isn't possible (please correct me if I am wrong). We can transfer current wirelessly (i read somewhere, i think in digit magzine that it had something to do with same oscillation frequency or something).
What do you guys think?

And if battery is 0%?
Well...
Simple answer is - WHY STRUGGLE WHEN SCIENTISTS DEVELOPED TUBE LIGHTS AND BULBS? Just switch on any one of them and get enough light to carefully explore the lead!
It's not that we are going to some dark mountain to recharge phone where there are no lights, we are in our own home.
It's quite easy actuall i switch of the lights my pc and everything else. And use my phones screen as a guide and insert it and bingo. Not bad ayy, I think, you know what i won't even say it this thread is just plain dumb..
From having a iPad mini I find it much harder to plug the charger in then the S3 when in the dark. Mainly cos the port is so small and the speaker is around it so its hard to feel it lol just my 2 cents...

Get one of the older asymmetrical micro usb cords like GS2 had -- you can plug in by feel in dark. I don't know why they changed it -- dumb.

This thread screams of fail... I'm thinking its hard to plug the charger in the phone when its dark because... oh yeah, its dark. The solution to this is to turn on a light, not difficult.
