i have to have the worst luck in the world..
got my nexus one today. condition is MINT. seller also included the receipt from HTC proving that it got replaced.
popped in my sim, everything worked fine. turned it off to swap batteries and thats when the hell started.
im not able to get past the nexus logo. NOTHING. it would turn on, than go to the screen, vibrate, than repeat multiple times. phone has never been rooted.
i did EVERYTHING. i did the volume down plus power and than i cleared wiped the memory, same result.
than i tried downloading 2.2.1, renaming it to update.zip, put it on my zip, but that doesnt work. the phone can't tell theres a update.
like **** man. i than went here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nexus_One/Guides_&_Tutorials
read that i needed FRG33 and rename it to PASSIMG.ZIP. when the phone turns on, it gives me the message if i want to update, i get excited. i click yes, everything says ok, than i reboot and bam, still endless reboot. tried to do the passimg again but this time i get a fail on radio V2 or something like that.
WTF is going on. i didnt do anything. ANYBODY HELP?
maybe the battery you swapped in is bad?
same result with both batteries :/
i hate my effing luck.
Make sure your batteries are fully charged, seriously.
great, now when i click recovery, it doesnt even go to the android guy with the exclamation mark, it just gets stuck at the logo. all im able to do is get to hboot. WTF.
i mean the battery has half a charge. just checked with my desire. i even tried with it plugged in in the wall. nothing.
my aim is screwupboy444. your welcome to help me there or even laugh at me for being a bone head and getting in this situation.
Do you have a different SD card you can use?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
yeah, i was using both the desire 8gb and the nexus one 4gb. both were reading fine in the desire. i read that if it gets to the nexus one logo then my phone isn't bricked, but im starting to think otherwise. nothing works.
ive been searching for the past hour half. everyone seemed to have fixed there by doing the passimg method or wiping data. but unfortunately none of that is working. i tried placing the froyo "update.zip" and running it but when i clicked recovery, it went into the boot cycle again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850
thinking about doing that but i have a feeling it doesnt apply to me. that and i don't understand any of the process. i dont think my phone will even be read by my comp.
did the passimg for the third time. went past the logo and actually to the set up screen. than it rebooted again. and now its stuck on the nexus one logo again.
could it actually be that? i left the battery charging in the desire for about 40 minutes, than took it out and put it in the nexus one and actually got to the set up screen for the first time.
but my question is, if thats the solution, does that mean my phone is gonna trip out everytime its less than 60 percent battery power?
this is what i get when i put the 2.2.1 update on my sd card and go into recovery mode

most of the threads where people got this fixed required them unlocking the bootloader and doing something. im the second owner of the phone but would like to avoid rooting but if its required in this situation, i will. i just need a dummies guide to do it..
No, there's threads for recalibrating the battery, if needed.
Keep it fully charged, and see if it will run for a reasonable period... That way, we can see if it really is the battery...

Don't worry about the exclamation and Android for now, and see if the phone will boot and run with a fully charged battery...

frick, i know thats what i should do. it just blows that i got this today and theres already a chance that its trashed...

thanks for all the help man. you dont think i need to unlock the bootloader right...? im just more curious on why the desire can work with either party no matter the charge. damn.
Wait until your battery is about 75% or more would be better, then try the passimg again...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
not sure if its good news or not but (i apologize for my lack of patient before hand haha), i took out the battery the desire was charging again and put it in the nexus one. it got to the set up screen all three times before it resets again. i tried plugging it in the wall charger but it still resets at that area.
edit:
the battery level was at 74% when i tried it.
75% is not a hard number, and I'd let it charge as much as possible. I'd also quit switching batteries, and just stick with one until you isolate the problem...

oh iam. im charging the nexus one battery in the desire because once i turn on the nexus one, it gets frozen there, and than i cant turn it off.
Hey guys got an issue i've seen several people have but nothing i've read fixes mine. So here it is. My battery meter is stuck at 41% no matter what i do. When i plug in the cable it looks and acts like its charging and it even goes green when its fully charged. Then i can use it till it powers off and it never stops reading 41%. I tried calibrating apps. I tried other battery widgits. I tried reloading roms and clearing battery stats in clock work recovery and letting it run down to nothing. Before anyone asks, yes i used the stock cable in fact i used 3 different cables. I am running 1.4.1 rooted with mn and no oc. i had this problem a 1.2 before i updated to 1.4.1 hoping it woukd fix it but no dice. i even loaded battery monitor widgit and it registers plugged in and unplugged but non of the stats come up or refresh. Any help would be greatly appreciated
It may be a hardware problem. How long does the battery last? Is 41% the max or is that the only value it ever shows?
i get normal battery life length and everything else acts normal which is what drives me nuts! but its always at 41%. plugged in 41%. freshly charged 41%. 2 seconds away from turning off 41%!!!!!!! 41 has now become the number i hate the most!

Just questions to try to understand a bit more. If you go into Spare Parts app and check battery information what does the battery level and scale say, and does the battery voltage change as you let it discharge.
Also when you say different ROMS, have you tried say running CM7 of an SD to see what this shows?
in spare parts the readings never change. i have tried cm7 same thing!
Wow, I have the EXACT same problem!! Well at least yours say 41, I'm stuck on 29%. I've tried the same things you have, but I'm still 29, . I check the threads on occasion hoping for a solution but nothing. It still functions fine, I just never know when it's going to cut off on me, because I never truly know how much battery life is left. I just try to charge often till the lite is green, then I know I have time.

Go to CWM recovery and wipe battery stats. Some people say it helps, others it does nothing. But it won't hurt anything to try. Also only use the stock charger and stock cable to charge.

Mine has just gotten stuck at 34%, otherwise the same set of symptoms. Has anybody come up with a solution other than unplugging the battery?
I've installed several different CM10 ROMs, told Battery Monitor Widget to forget its history, but it, Settings/Battery, and a couple of other apps and widgets are all flatlined. I even deleted /data/system/batterystats.bin to no avail.

That did it! Everything appears happy now. I deleted the file and rebooted. The level was sensible, and after plugging in, Battery Monitor Widget showed Charging for the first time in days.
Thanks! Much better than opening this thing up!

Actually that's what I did once. I had a similar issue and opened the case because that helped on my Galaxy Tab. It did not help the nook.

Just open your file manager and look for /rom. It is right there. I don't know if it has to be a root file manager though.

May have to be. I've just got the standard file manager on there and I can't find /rom. I typed it in, but it only opened to an empty file. I'll DL explorer and try that way.

Try Root Browser Lite. It is free and does root.
Yep, I did it with Root Explorer, but (especially if you're a Linux command-line sort) in Terminal Emulator, just type su, then cd /rom, and rm is all you need.
Good luck!

So...like a number of S3 users out there, I was also pretty disappointed by the battery life...
Then, i initialized the device, using kies and did a factory reset...but this time, i didnt insert the 16 GB SDHC card in and used it without it for the first battery cycle....i was SHOCKED by the results i got!!
Good..right?
Now, im confused as wat to do now...cuz I have to use my SDHC...can anyone suggest why this happened?
P.S.My previous battery stats attached here...
i think its the media-server
put the card in and leave the phone alone,so the media-server can index the files on the sd-card

The card has been inserted for the past 5-6 months...I was always getting battery around this range..
Looks like you had the media-server bug. Media server wasn't letting your phone go in to deep sleep.
Put your SD card back in, take a backup, format it and then put your data back in.
That solved it for me.

Finally upgraded from my SGS1 Epic to a SGS4, but I've come across some issues and need to return it before my 14 day return is up. I think the SD card slot is fried, 32 GB card reads in my epic, but in the SGS4 it just says bad card try reformatting. Then it says erasing card and just pops up with the same message again. Also an other glitch (or feature) is the nuclear battery. can run it all day and it never goes below 100%, luckily it seams more on the software side as when I plug it in I get the red light for charging that eventually turns green. I thought it might overcharge the battery if it was reading it wrong.
I had force rom 2.3 on it and have used odin and the stock tar to get back to stock, formatted all the partitions OAHDus would allow me to.
Is there any thing else I may have to do before returning it that is new on the SGS4 that i am unaware of?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Okay aside from me not having a computer to be able to develop on I still use my Note 3 and yes I am a flashaholic so I do continue to test other developers ROMs and find something that works for me. I am having some really bad battery drain issues on my Note 3 and it gets VERY hot.. i mean like really hot! First off let me say that I don't have warranty on it so i can't send it back to get another one. Whenever I use the phone for pretty much anything it starts to get hot and then battery drains like 20% every 20 min or so. I've tried flashing multiple ROMs and even using stock.. yeah STOCK. But each and everything that I have tried just doesn't help. I am at the point of like smashing my phone on the wall or something lol. Please if you guys have any suggestions please let me know. If i can't get this thing fixed then I will no longer be a Samsung Fanboy (that's a lie) lol. But thanks in advanced!

I had this problem with my old razr, it didn't get as hot as you say but the battery did drain really fast. If I were you I'd buy a new battery and see if you have the same problem. It's not uncommon to have a shot battery. Although, I'm not exactly sure what could be causing the overheating. You could possibly try putting it back to stock, calling Verizon and explaining to them that your battery is dying really fast and the indicator will jump percentages really fast. They may replace it...."may". Tell them you have done nothing to do it and have tried everything on the internet to fix it. What's the worst that can happen, they say no? Good luck man.

Before I made this post I did some research and found that the sd card may be the problem. I have had it removed for around 2 weeks. I also took the sim card out and still nothing works. If Samsung doesn't send me another one then I will switch to Moto.
Running apps have a factory Mode running? That's what used to make my phone hot.
