I would consider myself one who just knows enough to be dangerous when ut comes to installing android on my WM6.1 phone. I have tried multiple versions of android releases but all seem to run slower than desired and I always end up back with WM.
Anyone with experience: which version would you recommend for my phone. Below are the specs. And, by the way, I'm still using the haret.exe; once I finally find a well-working platform, I'll do a full install.
Phone specs:
HTC Touch (verizon: VX6900)
WM 6.1 Prof
CE OS 5.2.19212 (Build 19212.1.0.3)
Processor: MSM7500-400MHz
Memory: 105.13 MB
4GB SD Card
I want a version that runs smoothly on my system and doesn't lag or freeze like a PC from 1992.
Thanks!!

If you want something smooth to use everyday, use one of Plemen's themed donut builds. Or you could even go back to one of the Ion builds. They all work fine.
SenseHero or Tattoo could also work, albeit a bit slower, but more flashy.
I'm currently running a themed build of 2.0.1 from the Kaiser forum.
+1 for Plemen's donut builds - they are all solid as a rock and speedy. They are faster than WM for me, but I am running NAND which is faster.
I got this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591104 installed on my Sprint Touch and I'm liking it so far. I might actually try flashing it sometime.
The one thing you didn't include in your stats is one of the most important stats for the speed of your haret experience, that is the speed of your SD card.
If you have a fast card (class 6) most of these builds will run well with a haret boot.
If you have a slower card, loading the build onto your NAND will increase your speed and stability substantially.
I would also recommend one of Plemen's donut builds for speed and stability.
Now, here's my second question: In my many attempts with different versions (from what I've read), something changed in my google account where I can't access/download unsigned versions of programs. Is there any way to overcome this without changing my google/gmail login??

Do you mean you can't download apps from the market? (Or at least that you have a limited selection?). If so I would suggest the Market Enabler.
And I agree with the previous posters, thus far Plemen's Donut builds have proven to be the most fast and stable. My preference would lie in his HeroBlend build, if only because I like the darker theme.
Plemen's HeroBlend build
Plemen's Eclair Themed build
Also, this Tattoo build looks really nice, and runs quite fast if you delete the Rosie.apk after starting it up. Too bad it's too big to fit in NAND though, at least for now.
I downloaded market enabler, but I still have missing apps...I've read bits and pieces throughout the net that copy protection on certain files is prohibiting me from downloading them.
Oh, and by the way...the recommended build is working VERY well

Installation
Use a Windows Mobile ROM that is known to work with Android (I am using Miri's WM6.5.x XtraLight for fast booting into Android)
Use a Radio version that is known to work with Android (I am using Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2)
Download one of the Android builds above
Extract it to the root of your SD card
Start "\Storage Card\haret.exe" (in fact haret.exe is BatchLaunch)
Android autoboot
Install Gen.Y DualBOOT for starting Android into your Windows Mobile
Reboot your Windows Mobile
If Gen.Y DualBOOT is not loaded on Windows Mobile boot create a shortcut of the Gen.Y tool and place it under "\Windows\Startup\", then reboot again
Switching Android builds without data loss
At first: INVEST THE COUPLE OF MINUTES TO MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR "\Storage Card\Android\" FOLDER!!!
Believe me, even if the strategy is perfect, there are other reasons to fail like filesystems and others.
HAVING A BACKUP IS THE BEST STRATEGY!
Method #1 (the simplest)
Replace everything in your "\Storage Card\Android\" folder but keep "data.img" as this is where your settings and market apps reside in.
Method #2
Use third party apps like described in this thread.
Bluetooth devices working/not working

Ford car system

Quadrant SENSE build: 1478
Reporting errors/problems
To have a fair chance of finding errors/problems you report with my builds please posts the build you are using and it's version.
This helps to give faster support and improve the builds.

Are you still uploading the sense version? megaupload keeps telling me that the file is currently not available.
Edit: works now
What is not working?
Can you please list the things that are not working? or is this a perfectly functional ROM?

Forget about the screenshots, just the simple HTC Desire style.
For the BASIC build, just think of the SENSE build but without all the HTC apps, so without the pull down unlock slider and very minimalistic.

Check back in about half an our or an hour. I am currently uploading to Rapidshare.
Any chance you could upload a version without the HTC theme? There are hardly any builds with the original light grey/green Android theme which I prefer.
Will check this out though, if only to see if the battery life is any good.

The same old well known limitations as ever:
- No 720p support with EVo Camera and Camcorder
- Neocore and some other apps can not be installed, currently investigating this with davlvik debugger.
Camera flashlight is working for me, Flashlight app is not. Will be exchanged in next version if I find a good flashlight app.

Take a look at the changelog info about the used kernel.
It's the latest official git kernel from today using full RAM.
Hey,
Thanks for this - going to make it my first (proper) Android on HD2 build I think as it seems the most up-to-date with Sense.
One request - could you mirror this on something other than Megaupload? For some reason I'm currently only getting 5kbps (dialup speeds!) from Megaupload, everything else is fine. I will help mirror it everywhere afterwards once I get it!
Cheers!
Edit: Just seen you've put RS links up as I posted this - on the case, thanks!

MIUI STOCK BUILD PORT 11.05 PPP
Free beer and women HD2 Porting Thread
This is the latest build of MIUI for the HTC Touch HD2. It's relatively stock with a few minor changes for our HTC LEO. MIUI build includes all changes made from previous builds and optimizations for all of the new changes including:
iphone style launcher
iphone style icons
iphone style settings [much better organized system settings]
iphone style contacts, and screen effects
innovative new lock screen with music player
loads more MIUI goodies that have impressed me as a user
The default kernel is based on the EVO Kernel yes I changed kernels. The changes made for the git update have done wonders on backlight stability and battery drivers. There are some issues with the kernel (see post 3).
If the current build proves to be very stable (which it has been for me so far) I will include hastarin's r8 and some language builds. The translations for other languages are not available yet.
Quandrant Score 1614
Release Notes

Creates a 1 gig data.img; first boot will take some time.

The build still needs some testing; specifically in the bluetooth. If someone can report with their findings that would be ideal. If there are any other things not working in this build, let me know ASAP
How to install
Install is relatively easy:
1. Extract the 11.06.miui.lang folder [including contents] to the root of your sd card. Since it has a unique name, you won't have to rename it as I doubt any other builds has a unique naming ID.
2. Ensure you have at least 2 gig of space on your sd card (the data.img created is 1 gig which is NOT included)
3. Once the copy is complete, go to the android folder, run CLRCAD.exe and then HaRet. You will be taken to the HTC screen for a bit (about 10 minutes) and the rom will load.
a. If you get some strange error on boot, make sure you are using a new data.img
b. If the build still doesn't boot, reformat your sd card
c. If the build won't boot after a & b, please let me know in the thread
4. Skip through all android settings on first boot (you can set these up later).
5. The default keyboard is google keyboard. You can change this by tapping and holding a text area (sms, internet, facebook) and changing input settings to any keyboard you have preference to. Future builds will have htc_ime but for now android keyboard is good. I also prefer smart keyboard.
If you have a previous build
Ideally you should be able to drag all the files from the 11.01 build (including startup.txt) and keep your first data.img. Please verify if you have any issues with updating this way. If updating you may have to edit the startup.txt file in the following field if you're using the 10.30.miui folder:
set cmdline "rel_path=10.30.miui nand_boot=0"
or alternatively you don't have to overwrite the startup.txt file
your boot should load
The HD2 rom I am running is Duttythroy (and I have always ran duttyrom and it always gave me an excellent android experience) with 2.15 radio. It has never gave me any issues at all plus it is a good windows mobile rom [/shameless dutty plug]

SD mount issue
If you are having an issue with mounting/unmounting your microsd card, try this (again thank you mccmjoon76 for the solution)
1.you have to down load the terminal emulator from market place
2.open it and type "su" and press enter. allow super user access to it (mine kept freezing so i backed out and re started it. You will need to type "su" again and a window should pop up )
3. then if anything was done right you should see a "#" sign were your about to type the next line.
4.then type "mkdir /data/sd" make sure there is a space between the mkdir and the first /.
5.if everything worked right then nothing should happen except it moves to a fresh line in the emulator .
if you did everything right you should be able to go into settings and unmount your sdcard from there.

What's difference or advantage over other miui builds available especially the one I am using now 3.0 beta with 3 launchers
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
It's a stock presentation of miui. Infinitybiff was the only build that really had a stock interface that was fast and relatively smooth, however due to circumstance and time constraints, he couldn't do it. After testing a quick 10.22 port I decided to release a 10.29 build. It is stock, pretty fast and extremely stable.
Also note the build you are referring to I also direct users to different builds that prefer a themed ui rather than a stock one.

ok dude thanks for feedback. i will try it as i love the miui look. the stock version works very well as you can do virtually anything with it. don't like the stock clock though as that white thing looks odd. i am not a fan of the lock screen logo that gift box with ribbon. lol
oh that's changed...a lot has changed in miui
I remove the white clock and use tajm and battstat...maybe something to add in the next revisions of this build it is relatively bare bones. But as bare bones, you will love the changes from like 9.30.10 to 10.30.10
I think when its translated, you will all like the weather program. It looks like the htc sense weather but I'm sure it will be optimized immensely

I dont know what Roms you have available for your device but it may be worth adding a section with what Roms (stock or custom) work with Android and what ones arent working correctly. While Android is emulated, there are still some WinMo drivers that affect the operation of your Android port and certain Roms may not work.
It may be worth trying to flash a different Rom and then try Android again.

I currently use:
ROM-Version (Vodafone)Switzerland German: 1.41.166.1, (10904) Radio:0.63.05.41
the next one I will try is:
[ROM][25.06.2011][WWE-ITA-FRA-ELL-GER-RUS-SPA-NLD-DAN] ver 3.10 nsourm -build 29022
ver.5 - RUU_Signed_????no_sense_clean.nbh is without sense and cookies home tab and without extra apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801481
The nsourm rom is highly recommended and very stable (version 3.1) I also run this base WM6.5 ROM too (without sense and without cookies home tab). It seems to be quite compatible with the Android port as it mostly follows stock rom philosophy.
The other optional cab that has been installed is the stock icons.cab located here as without it, my SPB shell doesn't show all the icons properly. I have no problems with the Android Loader 1.0 dual boot application (set to autoboot after 10 seconds). I'd first flash the stock ROM then this one if wanting to change from another custom ROM.
you tried over nsourm 3.1 and Android works well, but have you tried over your stock ROM? and have you noticed any difference? such as. that something works better, or that something is not working at all?
I have not tried Android with my stock ROM and don't want to go back to stock ROM either as I still need to use WM6.5 from time to time - because there is no Garmin for Android! Stock ROM used to crash often whereas with nsourm 3.1 it is definitely much more stable given it incorporates more recent builds. I would assume that given nsourm is close to stock ROM philosophy (but with much more recent builds) that there would not be much difference to anything that ran in Android. Maybe someone has already tested for the differences.. and can let us know the results!

Hello every one.
First of all happy new year and may all your wishes come true.
Then lest start:
3+ years ago i bought the blackstone. now about 1+ year i have the galaxy s2.
I gave the blackstone to my mother sow she could only buy a simonly contract.
I put a custum firmware on ot from "blackSTONEhengeā¢ HyPer with Manila"
tho this rom is good looking its is full with bugs. when my mother is calling some one the mobile wil crash after?30+ sec and reboot.
it give rong battery values(precentage) and the smoothness is too low is laggy. I have orderd a new battery 1500mha but the rom is bothering me.
i dont know if the rom is overclocking the proccesor or not.
i want to instal a tiny rom witch have all the functions the mobile has to offer. and is smooth like hell.
if there isnt any could you plz give me the most recent offical firmware?
i dont want the landscape mode in it...<it will alwys fail!
its a long time ago that i have flashed the rom also.... and i dont have the htc software...
if some one could suggest me a basic rom and a short explanation how to install the custom firmware i would be very happy.
i cant remember some things...there is a keycombo to a rgb screen witch i dont know...
there shoud be drivers that you have to manualy assing to when you are in rgb mode? (dont have the drivers)
and the install program witch would be with the rom suggested.
ps. sorry for breaking the rules but the most active people are here and this wil be the fastes way to get some help.

downloaded the 72 mb file hope thats the right one...
see a new program pagepool?
for wath is this? (make your phone run more graphical programs?)
cant edit the rom tho....
Default I set a pagepool (16MB Manila ROM) which is enough for most of the flashers.
If you want you can increase/decrease the value. It is a sort of RAM cache for frequent used files.
