For some reason, my caller ID on Fresh 2.0b is not showing the correct contact information for incoming/outgoing/call logs. It has picked a random person to be all calls.
Additionally this is a person that is not even in my Google Contacts list, they are a person from Facebook that does not even have a phone number listed in Facebook.
Is this a Facebook app thing or a dialer issue? And what do I need to do to fix it?

in the search function of the site type in "Contacts Bug" hope some of the solutions there help you... I was still unable to get this fixed after endless trials on multiple roms mind you. Good luck. I'm the person asking for this exact same thing

Well I did just figure out how to get rid of it.
I went under settings and removed the sync account for "Facebook for HTC Sense" and all my call logs reverted back to the right people... =/
That just means I cant use the facebook sync, which was half the reason I went with the hero. =(

It does work on the stock ROM.
Mine works fine on Damage .999999999 rom.
I've read, searched and done my homework on this problem, but can't figure it out.
SMS works fine texting anyone in my contact list EXCEPT my wife. I can send a new message to her but I can't reply to an SMS she sends me.
Looking into the details of the failed SMS, it shows it is trying to go to 01214-xxx-xxxx. There's a 0 where there should be a +
Everyone else is +1xxx-xxx-xxxx.
Looking at the SMS she sends me doesn't have the +1 (like everyone else). All SMS TO ME are on the form xxx-xxx-xxxx and all replies +1xxx-xxx-xxxx EXCEPT my wife.
She's on Sprint, I'm on AT&T. The kids are on Sprint and can reply back just fine. They both have Android phones too. I can reply to the kids just fine.
One more possible clue, she was the only contact that somehow got on my SIM card. I deleted that off and just use my Exchange contacts now. However, that's still not doing it.
*** Solved ***
The issue was the Twitter contact I had for my wife. She and I both have Twitter accounts. We followed each other. The Twitter contact info looked correct but was causing issues.
To troubleshoot I first deleted the Exchange contact. Then she sent a test SMS. My phone interpreted her number with the culprit 0 IE 01xxx-xxx-xxxx instead of xxx-xxx-xxxx or +1xxx-xxx-xxxx.
... the SMS shows as coming from xxx-xxx-xxxx but something in my phone was still appending a 0 .... and my phone still knew my wife's name. So I knew I had some remnant of info of her in my phone. The only thing I could find was the Twitter contact.
I unfollowed her and readded her contact info. Presto!!! I can reply to her SMS texts now.
She's cheating on you
That "0" is the country code, but for some reason its using 2 codes (0 & 1) check you contacts and make sure her number is right in there also

Sorta funny, but it would be the other way around, she wouldn't respond to MY texts. I give it a 3 on a funny scale.

But the thing is, everyone else can reply to her SMS just fine. Thankfully, I have an identical phone to compare with. Both my wife and daughter have EVOs on Sprint. I can reply to my daughter's SMS messages but not my wife's.
I think mr_billionaire is on to something, and I suspected the same. The international code is hosed somewhere. Under call settings I found an international code difference on my wife's phone (than my daughter's) under Settings, Call. My daughter's said 011, my wife's was 01. Changing it to my daughter's 011 didn't help.
It must be some way my wife's contact is stored in my phone.
mayb its got to do with call barring?
I'm just going to take a guess and assume that your sig is what your running for your phone correct? if so then I wouldn't be surprised if you were having that issue.
maybe...
what if you just hard reset your phone and see if that fixes it....I mean kinda sucks but might work
Try deleting her contact from your phone, SIM, and whatever server you sync with. Then have her send you a text and try again.
This is a known problem, Android doesn't like my wife either.. My wife keeps on saying that i'm cheating on her with my Android... Bottom line man... Give up, they will never get along..
ok I might get killed with this one - but did you reboot to winmo and see if you can reply to your wife yet? aint hd2 great? if android doesn't work, go winmo!
This looks like a candidate for failblog.

WinMo always used to work, but I figured I'd test again. I booted into Windows Mobile and sent a test and was able to reply back just fine.
Then I booted into Android and ran the same test, ...fail.
The contact should be identical in both since it is pushed from the Exchange server. However, I'm not trusting it. I'm going to delete her contact and re-add her.

Take it as a blessing and an excuse!!
I'm having an issue after I got the VZW OTA GB update. SMS's are not going into a conversation mode, they are coming up as 2 seperate texts in my SMS list. It only seems to happen when I initiate a message to someone and they reply. If they send me one first and I reply(without any prior messages from that person in my SMS list), it seems fine. Anyone else having this issue?
That sounds frustrating, but I can help. If you have a Twitter account, please contact me @VZWSupport. You can also contact our Customer Service or Technical Support teams @ 800-922-0204 for a resultion. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have a friend with the X on the stock GB rom, but rooted, that is having a similar problem. It takes a long time to send sms even with full bars. He is using the handcent app.
I am having it as well. I guess the only way to fix it for now is delete both threads before you get a reply and than when the person gets back to you it will be fixed.
When you download the Facebook for Android app, it asks you to sync contacts. DON'T DO IT. Whenever someone has a phone number in their Facebook profile, regardless of if there is an existing contact that it will link to or not, the number will have a +1 in front of it. For instance, a number that should read 123-456-7890 would read +1123-456-7890. Facebook adds this for unknown reasons. When you send a text to the borked number, the text goes through, even on verizon.com, it says that the text was sent by you and that the other person received it on their profile. However, the person does not receive it on their phone. Also, if you call someone with a borked number, the phone will not ring.
In conclusion: Don't sync Facebook contacts, and your SMS should send fine and calling should work fine. Alternatively, you can use any messaging app but stock, such as Go SMS Pro and the message will go through fine, even with the +1 format.
Hope this helped someone.

Nice Find man i havent noticed this but ill be weary of this from now on
How does this explain people receiving some messages and not others? If it was the number they wouldn't receive any texts at all, not just 30% of them. I noticed this a while ago and I couldn't call people with the +1, but they received texts just fine.

Only people who have their numbers listed in their Facebook profile are affected.
This is what worked for me. If it doesn't work for you, then I'm sorry.
I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying maybe there's two seperate issues. Without my Facebook contacts synced some messages are going through and some aren't. Maybe its just me, but I've seen posts with people saying the same. Thank you for your solution nonetheless.

You're welcome. I'm not saying by any means that this will solve everyone's issues. Just my experienced and it worked for me. Best of luck to you on sorting whatever is up with your SMS out. What ROM are you using?
+1 is the country code for the USA, no idea why it's adding it though. I know that wavesecure requires you add +1 to the contacts on your contact list since the texts come from somewhere in asia IIRC (may not be true now since McAfee owns them).
I know it is, but since it's a cell phone, you don't use the 1 or +1, which messes it up.
Thank you for putting this up. I was confused and frustrated as to why lots of my contacts didn't receive or was able to send any texts or calls to me. But now its all good
I'm going to test this theory. Hope this works. Thanks

Try using Contacts Clean-up from Android Market. It works great and resolved my issue on the fly. Dev just made it CDMA compatible
I think this only matters on sense roms. I know I need to be on aosp for dialing businesses through voice search to work because it also adds a +1 (at least it used to).
Thanks for the post. It was driving me crazy.

Just downloaded and used, great app! Thanks for the suggestion.
So, whenever i get more than one message from the same person on whatsapp i can just see the last message. I tried expanding that notification bubble but it doesnt.. so if I have to read all the messages I will have to open the app.
Is anybody else facing the same issues with Whatsapp? I checked with other messaging apps (FB messenger, Hike, Text messages); all have expanding notifications bubble displaying all messages after I expand the bubble except Whatsapp.
I am not sure if this is a Nougat thing or just V20.
Any way to change this?
My notifications are not showing at all on Whatsapp. I have to open it and go to the person or group and they suddenly pop up.
I've turned on notifications from the settings on the phone and in the app itself, still nothing.
Whatsapp say its the phone the phone people say it whatsapp......the usual customer no-service. It's obviously an issue.
I hate change, nothing ever works the same, never mind better.
