These 3 wakelocks are always about even with each other at anywhere from 50% to 90% of the time "since last unplugged". Anyone know what these are, if they're normal, or how to get rid of them?
turn off latitude helps a lot
but they are Android 4.2 bug, i think Google will fix them
Probably normal if you were on the phone or doing lots of texting.

Hmm they're actually increasing almost the whole time the phone is idle with screen off though. Latitude is off as well. I'll try a clean ROM flash after factory reset and report back. Thanks guys.

Unfortunately these are still present (and high) after a full wipe and flash of the latest AOKP. Anyone else see these at the top of your wakelock list?
Not on MINCO
I am having this issue too, I believe it might be an AOKP problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37451238#post37451238
Well, I searched for hours, and hours for this wakelock too, and I think I finally found what it is, basically this wakelock is caused by the signal processor going berserk and waking up your phone constantly, most of the time this is caused by something disturbing it, and in that you have to think about something that could change or capture a signal in really the root and not through the official Android ways, like Viper4Android, it changes the audio kernel, this could disturb it, or automatic call recorder, this one picks out the voice signal, and this applies to almost all the sensors and signal processors
I am on 4.2.2 and the bluetooth won't turn on. As soon as i click ON, it immediately goes back to OFF (in blink of an eye). Is it due to the well known wifi-bluetooth issue? It happened yesterday when wifi was off even. Restart is the only temporary cure as for now. Any suggestions?

The video isn't mine. Searched over the internet.

I also have this issue but its fine once I reboot. Still annoying tho

Exactly. Although a restarts fixes the issue temporarily but it's pretty annoying as bluetooth is used daily and that too quite a lot of times in a day, sometimes. So constant restart really isn't a cure. Anyhow, I was wondering it's just me and this youtube user lol.. but now I know it's kind of a known issue and hopefully Google will fix it, since they know the issues with BT/WiFi etc. But I heard they fixed it in 4.2.2 however, we are still getting it which means the issue hasn't been resolved completely.
Edit: I was using Juice Defender Ultimate earlier and the issue started happening right after a few days of the said app's. installation. Googled a bit and got to know JDU is the culprit. So I uninstalled it on Saturday. But issue still persists.

Never had Juice Defender Ultimate installed on my phone,so thats definitely not the cause. However maybe another app is causing this ? Would be interesting if we could find out.
I am also glad im not the only one with this problem, but it seems like it isnt affecting a lot of devices .. I mean this thread is barely getting responses ? Anyway I hope this gets fixed soon.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I hardly ever use the BT, but the only 2 times I needed it, it happened the same to me. Never used juicedefender, unlocked bootloader + root only.
It's not a big issue for me... but IT IS an annoying issue
I had this for the first time today. The only app I have that might effect it is Qualcomm Battery Guru.
Do you have frozen any service that might be linked to Bluetooth ?
Hmmm.. I uninstalled JDU after reading this thread:
http://feedback.latedroid.com/forum...ooth-cannot-be-turned-on-when-juicedefender-u
...but nothing really changed. So it definitely wasn't JDU.
Hmmmm..
Since a week I am facing another weird issue. I can't seem to transfer any files from or to my phone. Since Jpegs are of small size, they get transferred. But songs..videos..etc.. they just cant get transferred. For instance, a transfer will suddenly hang at..lets say...14% and will stay there for half a minute or so.. and then 1 file share unsuccessful will appear in notification. Out of around 10 to 15 tries, just once it transferred a 39 MB HD trailor.. otherwise it just doesn't transfer any thing.. Do you guys face this *hit too? What to do?:s
This Bluetooth not turning on issue is really annoying. Anyone has any news for it? No fix? Nothing?
I have to restarted my device several times in a day. And it extremely embarrassing when someone asks for a file transfer and you say him.. wait i need to restart the phone. BT isn't turning on
I asked a friend of mine, who has a N4, about this and he said it never happened to him. It seems that not all devices are affected with this bug ? Could it be a hardware thing ?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Only had it happen once during the last three weeks so the issue is quite rare. Also had to reboot to fix.
You can leave Bluetooth enabled though, it doesn't drain battery whilst inactive.

Same here, have no issues. I did have issues with wifi not turning itself back on when I was using Qualcomm's Battery Guru. Are you using any type of battery saving app like Tasker? If you are try uninstalling it and see if that helps.

No. I don't use any battery saving app. I recently installed Battery Guru. But the issue was there even before installing it. The issue is there since the day I got my hands on the device. I seriously don't want to RMA as everything else is excellent in the device. Infact.. I seriously do not hear any buzzing sound from it.. even in a silent room. It was there in first few days but it was hardly audible. And now its gone. I have tried many times listening in a silent room but don't hear it anymore. So everything is perfect besides this BT bug I really really want a fix for it. No RMAing
The problem arises from the constant turning off and on of the bluetooth radio, as seen in cases such as the battery saving apps (Qualcomm Battery Guru, Juice Defender, etc.). I have the same problem happen when I automate the toggling of bluetooth using a Tasker created schedule. It is not limited to any particular app but has to do with a bug in the Android OS.
The official bug report is here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39688
You guys can star the issue to help raise awareness to Google so that they can fix it. For now, the only workaround that I have found is to just leave bluetooth on all the time.
Help!
Same happens to me. As soon as I switch bluetooth on it switches off. Rebooting doesn't work for me neither does doing a factory reset. Will this be fixed??
I am not having any issues with blue tooth and wifi

I've had this problem with my S3 too, I would leave the phone on a desk or 0ut it back into my pocket and when I check 15 minutes later the phone has turned itself odd. Its an odd problem to pinpoint as it comes and goes, there was maybe 3 weeks of time that my S3 would do this for no reason and then it be fine for a long time.
With my S4, it was fine initially, even after installing the apps I had on the S3, but after root and removing some stuff in TB it happened about 3-4 times in the last week. Now the last app I removed was page buddy, afaik its not a problem related to downloaded apps but maybe of a removed system app.

UPDATE: Just happened again this morning, turned the screen off, and dropped it on the table accidently, maybe 2 inches off and bounced a little. Might this be the battery coming lose from the contacts and the phone just losing power? log cat hasn't show anything causing a shutdown of the phone except for an error with QcrilMsgTunnelSocket.
Could be a common play store app you had on both of your phones that's causing it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah that seems likely, the bloatware that I removed were listed to be fine to delete. I can narrow the possible apps down to: Reddit News, Final Fantasy Air Brigade, Textplus, Chrome, Implus and Facebook. Has anyone ran into a similar problem?

Check the carrierIQ thread in general. Forget where the detailed play services one is, but if you use TB to uninstall the system play services and then reinstall it from the play store you get less wakelocks.
I installed CleanROM 1.1 on Sunday. Battery life on Monday was excellent. Monday evening I went ahead and disabled CarrierIQ because of the excessive wakelocks (but it didn't really kill my battery). What I don't understand is that BBS is reporting that my phone was in deep sleep when I wasn't listening to music through my headphones or bluetooth. So I don't really know what to make of it, because it was sitting in my pocket for most of the day at work.
Normally I'd still be at like 85% at least. I was hoping someone could shed some light because BBS is not reporting any excessive wakelocks that could drop my battery almost 50% in a 10 hour period with only a little over 10 minutes on screen time and an hour of music playback.
Android status can also shed light on run away processed. Outs in the play store.

I'm not sure. It seems to vary. And I do have/had all the google settings disabled and greenified the problem apps. It's just I couldn't pinpoint anywhere that 46% drain from yesterday.

Haha, even your "bad" battery day is still pretty good compared to me. I kind of think anything over 10 hours is good.
Right now I'm at 86%, that's 5:51 up, 4:03 deep sleep, 1:48 awake, 0:45 screen on. Which, yes, means my phone has spent over an hour awake without the screen on? Very sad.
One odd thing I notice is that it says I spent 42 minutes with No Data or Unknown Signal. I wonder if that's part of it being Awake? it kept searching?
Other than that I've got 11 minutes of NlpCollectorWakeLock for that 5:51 up.
I'm not complaining, those are still very good numbers. But I feel like lowering that off-screen awake time could take it from very good to great.
Turn off Google Now, toggle Sync off when you don't need it, disable data in areas where you're certain you won't get a signal.
I got 28 hours easy with 12 to go

I use the metro to get to work so IDC about traffic/commute times
I don't fly often so I don't need flight details and reminders

Yeah, you know what I never really thought about it like that. Though I *do* kind of have fun looking at my location dashboard in Google and seeing where I've gone and other metrics.
But you're right, its a huge hog (I'd say I get an extra 5-8 hours without it) and it isn't adding *that* much value.
I Greenify Facebook Beta and Twitter. And for some reason Google Keep keeps getting stuck in a sync loop, so I Greenify that too.
Think I'll clear data on GNow and see if I really notice the loss.

my phone is more of a beast after the 5.0 update.. so there is nothing to track down to me.. battery issues seem to be limited to certain ppl and not everyone.. lots are having amazing battery life.. if its not working for you then try installing kk again maybe?

Not my first cruise here. This phone never even glitched before the 5.0, not the same performance or battery since so there is something to track down.
Any change after a factory reset of your phone?
Same issue here after 5.0. Battery drain and phone overheats after a few minutes of use. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
It seems that I am having issues as well. I have tracked the problem down to something in google play services and exchange email sync. My phone battery settings page shows that my phone is always awake.... If I do a factory reset it no longer happens. But as soon as I enable my exchange email it starts to do the same thing. My phone turns in to a nice hand warmer because it gets hot in my pocket and dies in 5 hours or so. Try a factory reset and see if it still is giving you bad battery life.
When I do the factory reset and try to do a restore of all my apps I get the same problem. When I do not restore and set my apps up from scratch it seems to work well until I add exchange email. Ill do some more testing and report back.
I dont use any exchange service just Gmail accounts and they are not on active sync, I have to swipe to sync them. Call me lazy but I dont want to Factory Reset unless its proven that its going to fix it.
Locked up so bad today Had to pull the battery for the first time since I bought it in December
No way to guarantee a FDR will fix your phone. I can tell you that it fixed mine. Battery life was terrible and the phone would get so hot it would go into cool down mode. After a FDR everything is as it should be on 5.0. IMO people should FDR after any system updates as large as the Lollipop update just to make sure all the KK files and data are gone so there are no conflicts.
Amen to what newman said i would factory reset before complaining about problems. I haven't updated to 5.0 yet because i really don't see a reason to just yet but i would definitely factory reset for peace of mind if i did.
I did a factory reset twice and still same problem. Battery drains and overheats. I find it weird that some phones have the problem and some don't.
But it definitely is a problem and I don't really "complain". Some people just ask for help which I don't think is the same as complaining. Like Bobby, I've been doing this for a while. I've been rooting and jacking with android phones since the og Droid.

I too was a Rom swapper in a previous life but dont have time these days to keep up and needed a rock solid daily driver so I stayed stock on this phone. Please let me know if the reset does fix the issues. I hate to reformat all my stuff again for nothing. What a shame though to fugg up a great phone like this, you would think by now they should have it figured out so this doesn't happen. Or at least leak it early so the rom chefs could have a chance to find the flaws before the release

How did you figure that out.
I played around with s health a bit after loading lolipop, and noticed thats when it heated up on my phone so I froze it in titanium backup, but didn't restart. Apparently the pedometer was still keeping track of the step because it was still running. Restarted the phone and haven't had the issue since.
