Ok so I doing this off my own back because it would be nice if this section could stay clean for a while so people can actually find what they are looking for and get answers and not make it a frigging mess with stupid pointless posts which are so annoying when you wanna check out the latest things happening so here are some threads with answers to all you're questions and what not, would rather if you just posted links so I can update the first post with answers and what not

So far you can NOT run Android from the NAND, there is a few ROM's that are built very very light and will allow you to boot straight to Android such as NRGZ |LEO|Android ROM|, there is also XTarantula Android: EClair (senseless) and then you have darkstone HD2Froyo v1, which is just the android files you place on you're sd card, so far personally the best version I have used, and finally my personal faveourite as this rom allows you to change your'e android build ChuckyDroidROM 23128 works very well woth darkstone HD2Froyo v1

If so which rom/build?
Asking this because I don't have hspl lmao.. Kinda stupid if you ask me but I currently don't have internet connection on my pc..
Read the problems in android to winmo thread and that's the darkstone froyo rom. Besides that any other builds?

Nooo I dont want it bricked >.< I know what it means and I'm actually wondering if any one got their phone broken by installing any build/rom lol because I don't have hspl and if by any chance my phone does get bricked I'm screwed.

you cant brick it using android it runs from haret, all the files ar eon ur sd card, but 99% of the time u do need to change ur radio, and from what I have read custom roms are the way forward to using Android hope this helps

Thanks because from reading the android development thread dcordes mentioned something about a chance bricking your phone. Helps a lot though now I understand!

Demon, just keep it up to date.
Im referring every single thread with a - why didn;t you post it here - comment (tot the Q&A topic) while when things get fixed we can still post a quick link here.

yep i fully bricked my hd2 and couldnt turn it on at all. i had the stock rom and build at the time, and accidentally flashed an international rom to a us tmobile device. i learned not to flash anything below 2.08 spl or its considered international and will brick ur device.

Please, i bought the hd2 so i can run Android on, I have been looking for a long time searching on XDA, and all over the net for a solution to my problem " when ever i run android it starts, i customize and download stuff, but when ever i just leave it on standby mode for like 2 or 3 mins, it gets stuck when i try opening the buttons just light up and i have a black screen.... please help me
some people get pissed off repeated threads, I'm sorry i've been looking for a really long time never reached a solution

Im a noob too and if you read the stickys at the top of the forum you would see your answer is there. I have only owned my phone for less than a year and i figured this same question out by reading. You could have also used the great feature xda has created to stop cluttering up the q and a forum o wait you posted this in the developers threads lol common dude your just giving all the noobs a bad name.
a mod shall set you ablaze!!! flame on!

What Radio are you using
Just make sure you've done all steps carefully and of course without any mistake!!
I am pretty sure you can do some search such as "Android on HD2"!! There are some good examples!!!
last I am just a user, not any developer!!

why dont you go back to stock rom 1.66 and update the radio to 2.15.50.thats what i have and never run into any problems with any android builds so far.i have tryed with 3.14 but ram was very high on the winmo so i went back to wwe 1.66

No, do NOT run that 1.66 stock ROM on a T-mobile US HD2, it will brick your phone.
and HellocK, you need to be looking through the proper ROM sections for the T-mobile US HD2...this is the area for the european version (Leo).
One of the local section mods will be by shortly to move this thread to its proper location.

did not realize his american,its true you can not use european rom.

I use miri roms you can find them at htcpedia.com every android build I've used I done it with this rom any version works fine... am also using radio 2.15

sorry guys did not mean any harm,only was trying to help,did not realize you was using usa rom.i am sure if you can find something compatiple like the european rom and have 2.15.50 radio update it will work flawlessly.i can recommend also mdj revolution hd with hastarins 8.5.3 that i,m using at the moment its fast and battery life is excellent.

I had that problem a lot when I first started using Android on my HD2, what I do now is every noew ROM I put on first thing I do is go into settings, display, uncheck auto rotate, and turn off auto brightness and set it pretty high, never had that problem again. Give it a shot, maybe it will work.

yea i reached this solution lately .. im testing its been 2 hours running now .. still testing.. will confirm soon

+1. This is what I use and never run into problems. Just make sure you update that radio and the Miri roms make everything run very well.

Change the radio. I had that same problem with the 2.11.50.26 before. I am using 2.14.50 and it work fine. Winmo Rom in VBN 3.14 . And do you have the original card? If you have a crappy sd card won't help the matter.

yea .. im using 2.15.50.. running smooth now .. and 3.14 stock ... the main problem was the auto rotation and calibration since i got that im running it well

[Q] HTC HD2 Android

Hi
Iv'e been searching a lot of all the ways to run android on my HTC HD2. And I think it's a bit messy with all the ways to do this.
When I tried to make this work I hade about 10 internet tabs open to download and read how to make this work. Yet still no success
Iv'e also tried installed it with flashing rom, running haret etc. but not gettin it to work. Iv'e installed froyos version of android.
Can someone please make a step by step list with all alternatives and programs I need to make this work.

[Q] Camera problem android/winmo advice needed! update

Hey Guys,
Just installed Android Energy Rom 3.5 Sensation XL
Only problem is that the camera does'nt work!
When i had winmo my camera told my: could not initilize camera
i thougth meh, opera problem, just flash android on it!
Now, android reboots everytime.
My motherboard has been replaced before i had it in my ownership so i don't know what's wrong with that.
what shoud i do:
a: Flash winmo back, see if it helps (guess not)
b: Pry open my mobile, see if the camera is connected properly (how would i know? and can you help? links please!
c: try another android rom?

well, i dismounted the whole camera. And put it back together again the wright way, but still no luck,
any suggestions?
Flashlight works though,

Try another build first before flogging the hardware; preferably with a different builder and kernel.

Being that you installed windows mobile and says camera can not initialize, I would say definately a problem with the camera, or connection to the board.

it could be any rom try typhoon first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951, or any other
if it still continues then task 29 and flash stock winmo and see what happens.

I already opened up my phone, and reconnected the cables and had the whole camera module out, cleaned it, and put it back in its place en secured it.
still no luck though,
can it also be a motherboard problem?
everything else on my htd hd2 works, i can call, turn on wifi, etc. Just no camera

Camera not working on any roms

My camera works fine in wm 6.5 but it doesnt work on any of my sd roms (haret boot), doesnt work on american android or Nexus ICS by tytung hard reset hd2, formatted sd card and clean installed both, fixed permissions, still nothing... everything used to work fine until I got my lcd replaced and updated tmobile rom through t mobile website. in wm6.5 the phone runs flawlessly camera and everything.

What do you mean by "not working" ?
What exactly do you get? a black screen? a force close? an error message?

Black screen then will ask if I wan to wait or force close, have chose the wait option and after 10 minutes still nothing, reinstalled thru system/app camera.apk, nothing... 3rd party camera apps cant open it either.

So it's working under WinMo >>> supposedly eliminates hardware issue.
But it's not working under any "sd" android ROM AFTER an LCD replacement.
Maybe if you provide a logcat other members may be able to help you?
Have you tried it in "NAND" android? Have you tried different Kernels while on sd? Have you tried it on Windows Phone 7?
I'm at the limits of my knowledge, sorry.
I hope you get it fixed.

check out the link below if you want to try out NAND, once you know the steps it's actually not that hard.

ughh figured it out went back into windows mobile and it worked fine then it started working on and off, now it wont work at all even after hard reset, looks like its pointing towards a loose connection in the hardware not ROM related after all, thanks for the help. Time to go get in an argument with repair tech

Have you tried getting another camera app off the market? Most have issues with ICS and some others.
