Any I9000M (Bell) have JPY?? Android 2.2.1 - Galaxy S I9000 General

Has anyone with the Bell version I9000M tried flashing the JPY rom with some success??

Yup.
Been running it since it came out.
No issues yet

how did you upload it to your phone??
Odin?
Kies registry hack?
And if you used Odin, did you just upload the .tar file? or did you use a .pit file as well?

im running seeARMS' XXJPY v0.2 for two days now. so far so good.

Did you go from JL2 to JPY?
I tried with no success. I am very new at this however.
I downloaded JPY from samfirmware
My steps (without success):
Open Odin
Put phone in download mode
Connect phone - Odin recognizes the connection
Browse to JPY tar file as the PDA
Re-Partition is unchecked
Auto Reboot is checked
F. Reset Time is checked
Do not select a PIT file
After some time, Odin reports success (i.e. PASS!), the phone reboots and the only thing that is shown is the sprite graphic (like an asterisk). It keeps flashing on and off. If I pull the USB connection, I get the SGS logo flashing on and off.
Did I miss something?
Using the steps above, I can successfully re-flash JL2.

That would be due to the SBL in JL2... You need to flash an older SBL, or make sure your new ROM includes an SBL, and click the bootloader tickmark box in ODIN...
I found that I couldn't go backwards once I flashed JL2 with Kies... flashed a different kernel (speedmod) and was able to flash a new rom again...

I used to have it until i got darky's gingerbread. I did it with Odin.
First you need to get the JPU and then the JPY. I did it that way.
It won't work because you need the JPU. For the jpu you need the 512 pit, the phone and CSC files.
Just ask if you need them

So, what your say is, you can't go straight from JL2 to JPY?

I flashed from SpeedMod to Darky's without any issues. I am using an unlocked phone with Rogers, and I did not need to flash a different modem.

I havent tried, but i guess you cant. Better if you try JPU and then JPY, less risky.

Yea been running Darky's rom for quite some time. I was running JPX and JPY before that. Once you go to 2.2.1, 2.1 isn't good enough.

Not even official 2.2 is good enough for 2.2.1 LOL

The steps I took to go to 2.2.1 are as follows:
Rom: Darky's 7.7 Wipe
Kernal: Speedmod K12F
Modem: Stock JL2
I was on Stock JL2 through Kies.
Step 1: I used ODIN 1.7 to flash speedmod k12h (make sure you get the odin version). In Odin, don't checkmark anything, leave it as default. Click on "PDA" and then choose the Speedmod file you downloaded. Click Start and it should automatically reboot. The purpose of this step is to get you ClockWorkMod (CWM) quickly.
Step 2: Now that you have CWM, boot back into recovery (3 button method). You can now install custom zipped roms. I chose Darky 7.7 Wipe. You should have it already on your sdcard. You go through the CWM menu, choosing install from sd card. Pick Darky's ROM and let it do it's thing. Reboot when it's completed.
Step 3 (Optional): Once your phone is booted back up, if you want the Speedmod kernal, you should download the latest version but this time get the CWM one, not the Odin copy. Boot back into CWM (you can do this by holding the power button and you'll see a new option labelled "recovery". Same as step 2, install from sd card. Pick the speedmod k12h zip file. Reboot when done. You can go check the speed mod thread and learn about what tweaks you can enable and activate.
Step 4: Now I have Darky 7.7 Rom and Speedmod K12H Kernal. I need a 850mhz modem. I reboot into download mode (I can do this again by holding down the power button while booted into my phone and seeing 'download). I plug it into Odin. I download the latest JL2 firmware (you can find it in one of the sticky threads) I unzip it and in Odin, again, don't check mark anything. Chose "Modem" Pick the "modem.bin" from the JL2 folder you just unzipped. Click Start. Presto. It'll reboot on it's own
Step 5: You now have Darky 7.7 (or any other rom), Speedmod K12H (if you felt like it) and JL2 Modem. But you still don't have 850mhz. You have to enable it in the service menu. Easiest method is to install SGS Info, if you have Darky's Rom it is installed by default. Open SGS Info, here are the steps:
1) Service Menu
2) [2] Debug Screen
3) [8] Phone Control
4) [7] Network Control
5) [8] Band Selection
6) [2] WCDMA Band
7) [1] WCDMA All [] <-- before you click this, you'll notice that the [4] WCDMA 900 has a * next to it. Once you click on [1] WCDMA All [] you should see [5] WCDMA 850 now checked, as well as the 2100 and 1900.
Done! 2.2.1, Darky's 7.7 Rom (excellent btw!), Speedmod K12H (also excellent) and JL2 Modem which i've tested GPS and i get locked in seconds and is very accurate.
To ensure you have 850mhz enabled. open your dialer and type *#*#0011#*#* and you should see 850 Band 5 under the WCDMA section.

Cool. Which Rom?

Thanks very much for the info on how to combine SpeedMod with Darky's When upgrading to a new version of Darky's or SpeedMod, should I just run the new update under CWM instead of Odin?

I have the ugjl2 with k12h500hz does it really worth it to go to darky 2.2.1 i like the way it is right now but if 2.2.1 really increase performance ill flash it

Thanks for the step by step. I'm on stock 2.2 JL2 (Bell) and want to go on to Darky's 7.7. Would you be able to post the links for correct speedmod k12h kernel (Odin version and CWM version)? I've seen it in one of the threads, but there are a couple to choose from and I want to make sure I get the correct ones.
Thanks.

I flashed JPY and then JL2 modem.

Bell 2.2 JL2 not downgradable

This post is just to give you a heads up that you can not downgrade from JL2. if you can please tell me how you got it to work.
I just got my phone back from bell, they could not repair it, so i got a brand new phone.
The new phone had JH2 on it.
I installed kies and it automatically update it to JL2.
Before upgrading I forgot to do two things,
1) install CWR, jl2 uses 3e and not 2e and CWR does not work with 3e.
2) unlock the phone, the unlock method needs jh2 or less, as i know it you can not get the unlock code from a 2.2 froyo like JL2.
So i load up odin, (all versions 1.3 1.0 1.7) and try going back to jh2.
it does flash, but after on restart we can not boot the phone, it keeps boot looping on SAMSUNG screen. I even tried all the pit files and checking partition.
only download mode works. so i flashed back JL2. else my phone does not boot.
guys can we NOT downgrade back from jl2 on bell phone?
I am just thinking how bad this will be for the new phones that already have JL2 installed outta the box, and you if you can not downgrade how will new users with this phone be able to unlock the phone and install rom manager or a.k.a. Clockwork Recovery
Use odin and flash a kernel that has 2e or find a full rom that has the .sbl and boot file in it and flash that.
Petsonally I flashed JL2 with kies then flashed hardcores kernel found in the android section of the forums then been flashing custom roms from cwm im on darky's 7.7 right now with the jl2 modem.

Yes you can still install custom roms but you can never go back to previous samsung official software. So no JH2.

but other versions of roms like jh2 and jg8 dont have the sbl.bin file in side, and if i just flash those roms anyways then after extract the sb.bin file from the jl2 rom and try flashing it alone it does not help.

Here is a link with instructions on how to install Hardcore's Kernel once this kernel is flashed on your phone you can go from JL2 to a custom 2.2 rom of your choice. DO NOT FLASH THIS KERNEL IF YOU ARE USING UGJH2 this is a 2.2, 2.2.1 Kernel ONLY.
http://touristinparadise.blogspot.com/2010/11/samsung-galaxy-s-how-to-install.html
JK4 and JL2 both had the new SBL in there. I was able to flash via kies the JH2(or 8, can't remember) at one point when it was still available.
What does this mean for rooting and other things? Are we able to root the phone or are they going to be locking down the phone so we can't do anything anymore? If they will lock it down I can just drop it in the toilet and get my insurance to get me a Nexus S >.>
thanx for the rom. was looking for a native rom so i could actually change between gsm and wcdma, and your rom fits the bill. hope you continue to update the rom, like more tweaks n stuff on your spare time

Maybe someone mentioned this already but you can unlock with JL2. I used SGS Unlock Pro from the Android Market.
Interestling enough, I CANNOT for the life of me recover after trying to downgrade to a different rom..
I got JL2 (locked) and I tried to unlock (no luck) so I tried a different rom (yes I know how to use ODIN) Ive tried 4 or 5 different ronms with different methods of flashing.
And no luck..
Tried the orig JL2 rom again, and Im stuck in a boot loop
not much fun!
Mine is dead ather this same process
Hi , I did the same as you. I got my SGS rev 10.10 back from getting flashed by bell. They flashed JL2 in it and I wanted to try Darky's rom. I tried to go to JH2 first and the phone started to loop. So I tried flash it again and I lost download mode. I had to make the 301K usb jig to get the download mode back. I tried to flash back JL2 but that just killed the phone out right ... Now I have no screen at all. No messages or any sign of life. I called Bell and they will ship me a new one by mail in 5 Busness days.

I just got my replacement from bell, came with jl2 on it. I tried flashing jh2 onto it for three purposes of unlocking without any success. I had to go back to jl2 to get it booting again. In the ends I used the nv_data.bin modifying method of unlocking and it started working on rogers so I put the rom kitchen docrom on it, jpy, hardcore kernel and have been enjoying ever since. Hopefully this method of unlocking proves to be permanent

For those of you trying to downgrade to JH2 are you downloading the version that is linked in this thread and are you making sure Update Bootloader is checked in odin when flashing?
I also tried to flash an older stock firmware, but now my SGS gets stuck on the logo and the three buttton recovery mode or download mode doesn't work. Holding the power down and home button on causes it to switch betweeen the log and the battery

Yes, I confirm the JH2 linked in the thread works to downgrade from JL2. I used Odin 1.7 and put the file in the PDA and select "flash bootloader". Nothing else, no PIT no repartition, nothing. You don't need root or anything special, just 3-button mode.
Every other firmware I used put me in an infinite boot loop, this one worked fine to downgrade.
I also upgraded back up to JL2 through kies w/o a problem after the downgrade.

Flashing Darky's rom on i9000M (Bell,Virgin Canada) with minimal risk

I'm putting together a walkthrough of how through much trial and error I came up with, in my opinion, the best way to get Darky's awesome new rom onto our Canadian Galaxy i9000M that is infamous for crashing hard, with the least amount of risk possible.
**this will take a day or two as I have a busy life...just want to help some people in my spare time so don't get mad because I'm only starting with the introduction. **
Short version (From stock i9000M 2.2 JL2):
1. Download:
Darkys rom v8.0
Latest Odin
Speedmod K12O hz=500 (Odin version not CWM!)
Superoneclick root
2. Plug in your phone, enable usb debugging, run oneclickroot, hit root. Wait for everything to finish. Disconnect. Rooted!
3. Reboot download mode. Use Odin to flash only the .tar file from speedmod as the PDA leaving everything else unchecked. Wait for reboot.
4. Put Darkys rom on root of sdcard.
5. Download rom manager from market, flash latest recovery. Reboot recovery using app.
6. Select zip using recovery and apply. Voila! Done!
7. **These are only quick instructions for someone who has basic knowledge of flashing a rom and lacks many minor but VERY important details! If you are unsure of what you are doing or have never done it before do not attempt this!!.
I only posted this because myself and it appears a few others have had a.much less painful experience by first flashing the speedmod kernel before Darkys rom. A detailed instruction for brand new flashers with no experience will follow when I have the time
A more detailed guide is available here:

The SAFEST way to Flash Darky's or any Custom rom would be this order.
1. Flash JL2 , the new .SBL (Secondary Boot Loader) included with JL2 is believed to fix the dreaded internel SD death's that so many of us had.
2.Download latest Darky's Rom and make a folder on your phone name it what ever you want and put the rom in there, you can also leave the rom in downloads if you downloaded it directly to the phone.
3. Flash Hardcores Kernel with ODIN.
4.Boot device into CWM recovery, Root device it's in the advance options.
5. Install Darky's rom , using Install zip from SD method in CWM recovery.
6.done.

if my phone is still with me (currently being thrown around by samsung)
this is the method I would use as well.
Yes this is roughly the method I used. I was nervous but it was pretty easy.
From JL2 stock you basically just need to Odin flash hardcore's kernel and then you can install whatever compatible .zip(s) you want in recovery mode (as well as root or apply tweaks).
I did a doc rom first and since I have updated the kernel and downgraded wifi drivers. No random force closes yet at all, the new board (and JL2 sbl) have my 10.08 unit running flawlessly so far.
Trying not to go too flash crazy. Although some would say to do the opposite and see if the phone will die under warranty, I think the hardware is fine but don't want the pain of trying to recover from messed up flash. So I'm waiting for a significant release before flashing a whole new base.
I just flashed darkys 902 rom and using darkys config picked speedmod (I dont like voodoo). Worked good, but had to flash JL2 modem to get 850 back. I usually run the JL2 modem anyway, just because it seems to give me the best battery life and good GPS.

Hello...just trying to get an understanding before I proceed.
1. I will be receiving a new handset from Samsung. If it already has JL2 with a newer date, do I still need to flash SBL or do the latest phones come out with a fixed SBL?
2. Ok.
3. On these particular Bell phones, is HardCores kernel the best choice or basically install what ever kernel I want to get a feel of what I like?
4. CWM, is it just a different interface or program similiar to stock recovery mode?
Thanks in advance.

3) Install hardcore kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756
4) Install Darky's rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091
2 Questions:
A) won't running Darky's rom ALSO install SpeedMod's kernel? (and an option for voodoo)? So I can essentially skip step 3? Is there a reason why I'd want to use ODIN?
B)And won't installing Darky's rom Also over write the modem in JL2, thus making unsafe for internal sd again?
(Or does JL2 refer to more than just the modem).
I thought Bell and Rogers use different frequencies, so the phones can't be crossed over.

No, They work fine. Used the Bell Motorola Milestone on Fido for a couple months before changing.
Bell SIM cards can also run on unlocked rogers phones.

I think I found my own answers:
A)Once you flash to JL2, you cannot flash CWM reboot recovery.. JL2 runs 3e recovery, but CWM uses 2e.. You'll get an error trying to apply update.zip..
You must use odin to change the kernel. I don't think it matters if you use voodoo or supermod.
B) Darky's rom actually changes the modem and you lose 850. If you want it again, take the JL2.tar file and delete everything except modem.bin.. More details here: http://cloudrainstar.blogspot.com/2010/12/xxjpy-darkys-70-ugjl2-modem-bmcjl2-csc.html

Thanks for that info. I did not know Darky 's would remove 850 band. It really pays to read through this information thoroughly before proceeding.
Thanks for this guys I was stressing to the max trying to figure out what to do for my Canadian Bell phone. This worked AWESOME!!!
Can't believe how nice Darky's Rom is.

Glad to know you got it working...
Did you have to re-flash jl2 to get band 850?
Yea Rasher I did.
I was getting so brain fried I was trying to flash with ODIN while the phone was still on the home screen....
I finally remembered to put it back into download mode and flashed the JL2 modem back in.
WOW and WOW I can't believe how fast the GPS is.
It was non-existant for me on the stock UGJL2
Thanks again guys
Oh just incase anyone else reads this and forgot to do that, in order to use your phone in BC you will most likely need to do this guys first part of his tutorial on flashing the JL2 MODEM.bin after Darky's ROM.

This thread has made be a bit confused.
If i have a Bell phone, on the rogers network. What do i need to do? If i flash darky's rom and it gets rid of the 850 band, does that matter?

[JVH Install Help] Bell Canada

Here's what I did to get JVH (with 850mhz band) and CSC for Canada on my phone. It worked for me at least
Files:
SpeedmodK15E_withLoaders.tar.md5 (8.38 MB)
http://www.multiupload.com/SRVH1BTK8R
JVH_KC1_BMC.zip (169.32 MB)
http://www.multiupload.com/1FHETKJOWA
StockJVH_Kernal_noLoaders.tar.md5 (5.47 MB)
http://www.multiupload.com/PM3AXR7JFG
**************Disclaimer:***************
I'm not responsible if this bricks your phone, as "the boss" said if I break mine, she'll break me... or I get a $20 replacement phone
Backup your /efs folder, backup EVERYTHING, just in case... I'm paranoid so I did it all
ROM NOTES:
Got deodexed from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11256520&postcount=1
Modem:
KC1
Busybox:
1.18.4
Hosts file updated for ad blocking using:
http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm
Here's the steps I followed:
Save all files to folder/desktop
Connect phone via usb and copy JVH_KC1_BMC.zip to root of sdcard
Restart phone in download mode
Open Odin and click PDA
Select Speedmod tar file
Uncheck Auto-Reboot
Check F.Reset Time (I don't know what it does, but it's always checked)
Flash the tar.
Once complete and the box says "PASS" in green, unplug your phone and pull the battery (I was told it's safe, as it's in the MIUI instructions as well)
Put battery back in and start phone in recovery with VOL UP+HOME+POWER
In recovery choose to update from zip
Choose file from sdcard
Choose the JVH_KC1_BMC zip file and update
The phone will restart/install.
Once it's started up for the first time I recommend restarting in download mode and flashing the stock JVH kernal
You can also use any kernal you want.
Let me know if I can help at all. I was trying to make a completely odin flashable tar for this but failed miserably :9
I'll do my best to answer any questions however this is my first time making something to flash for you all
Note:
I'm not sure where to put this, sorry to mods/admins if it's in the wrong spot, please let me know
Hi,
I saw your thread, and I found it very interesting for people who own a Bell SGS 9000m Vibrant and wanna upgrate to Gingerbread.
So I decided to flash the Gingerbread JVH ROM just like you did, but I need to know a few things:
1. Will I be able to downgrade to my original stock froyo after this flash ?
2. Will I be able to update via Kies in case Bell release an official gingerbread update ?
3. Right now my phone is SIMUnlocked, will I lose my SIMunlockation after the flash ?
4. And is my actual configuration right to excecute this flash or should I flash something else before ?
My configuration is the following:
Baseband version
I9000UGJL2
Firmware
2.2
Kernel
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #3
Build number
FROYO.UGJL2
galaxy s vibrant bell
gt-i9000m
Thanks for your hard work, I hope to read back from you soon.
I have exact same configuration and exact same questions as poster above!!!
Still no answer... Guess we'll have to try if wanna know...

1. yes, it's possible
2. yes, but you would either need to downgrade first or do a kies hack
3. no
4. you can do it straight
Thanks zorxd.
I am going to try. So there is no need for me to select any Pit file or did the guy forget to mention it ? Also can we tick the repartition option in Odin?
Sorry if I ask usekess question I am used to flash android but new to the SGS flashing...
when you repartition you need a PIT file.
My advice is to not repartition unless you need it.
Too late... I did it got stuck into bootloop. I had an error when I tried to install the zip from the recovery (I had recovery 3e) : E : Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device) . However, I flashed the back eclair JHL and went back to the stock eclair rom. I am going to restart from there following your intructions. I now have recovery 2e ( Somehow I can't get ClockWorkMod Recovery to load directly; it always send me to recovery 2e and there I apply update.zip to go to CWM recovery)
Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if I manage to get it done.
Still get the error E:Short write of/tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device) when try to install JVH_KC1_BMC.zip from the recovery 3e ( this recovery comes right after I flash SpeedmodK15E_withLoaders.tar ...
Don't know what else to try... Help please..
I did it a slightly different way. From 2.2, I flashed a stock 3 part gingerbread rom (phone, PDA, CSC) with bootloader update using ODIN 1.82. I then flashed CF root gingerbread kernel for CWM3 and then flashed the KC1 modem from clockwork recovery for the 850 band.
Could you please show me the exact files you used so I can try to do the same ?
Aren't there at least a couple threads on how to install jvh/jvp on an i9000? Its the exact same process as those you just have to flash the kc1 modem via cwm after you are done. It sounds like you guys are experimenting too much.

Our canadian phone is not really different from all the other ones, so you don't need a special "Bell Canada" installation.
If you want JVH, you can follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818556
You don't have to do everything like fugumod, etc. I would flash JVH via odin and then flash CF root kernel via odin so you get CWM3.
There's also leaked 2.3.4 JVP gingerbread out, if you feel inclined:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
There's a way to enable 850 band on the different gingerbread modems, but i never bothered, I just flashed the KC1 modem for Bell which has the band (via CWM3). Search for I9000UGKC1

Okay I am really starting to freak out now...
I am stuck in bootloop, I can't get out og it. I tried flash Back the Stock Bell Firmware but it keeps boot looping. Download mode is okay. But it started doing this I had a message like sd could not be mounted in recovery 3e. Now I can't even access recovery after I flash Eclair but Download mode is still okay...
Aby ideas ?
Have you tried flashing back the stock JL2 firmware from bell? (found on samfirmware.com)
I've never encountered this error before, I wonder if it is a problem with the bootloaders, as the official froyo firmware from bell had a secondary bootloader and gingerbread has its own bootloaders as well.

I imagine you'll need the stock bell firmware as said above and also the proper PIT file to go along with it.
Sent from my Darky's i9000m
Also if you repartitioned it when you tried to flash the whatever it was when you tried you will also have to repartition it when going back down to froyo.
2.2 and 2.3 use different bootloaders therefore if you try to mix and match rom's without the bootloaders and repartioning you will get a ****y phone.

Thanks for your help guys. I didn't solve it yet, but i will open a new thread to prevent this one from getting to messy.

[Q] How do I get CWM on JVP

I'm installing Juwes JVP ROM and I've gone to a stock JVP ROM as per the instructions. The next step says I should flash a CWM kernel but gives no further instructions. How can I go about adding CWM support to my kernel?
You can flash a cwm kernel using odin.
Speedmod has a jvp kernel which you can download. Then its as simple as putting your phone in download mode, fire up odin, under the pda section select the speedmod kernel file you downloaded, connect phone to usb cable and hit start.
The phone will then reboot and then you can access cwm using the three buttons on power up.
Sent From My Android Shizzle!
Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 about that.
For stock 2.3.4 I have installed CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVP-v3.7-CWM3RFS.tar with ODIN.

[GUIDE] Downgrading from ICS to Gingerbread i9000

I write this guide to help you, since I've had problems downgrading from ICS to Gingerbread.
Things you need:
1. Samsung drivers
2. Stock Gingerbread firmware with individual files (including bootloaders) I used JVZ Firmware
3. Odin
Procedure:
1. Install Samsung Mobile Drivers
2. Open Odin
3. Get the phone to the Download Mode by pressing(VolumeDown+Home+Power) buttons and connect the phone to your PC (your phone should be recognized)
4. Select PIT (usually 512)
5. Select BOOTLOADER (APBOOT)
6. Select PDA (CODE)
7. Select PHONE (MODEM)
8. Select CSC (CSC)
9. If 'Re-Partition'is not checked under 'Option', check it.
10. Press the Start button
Note:
If you want to upgrade to a later firmware (eg JW6 - It has only one .tar file),
1. go to the Download Mode again select the file under PDA.
2. DO NOT select the PIT, BOOTLOADER, PHONE, CSC files.
3. DO NOT check 'Re-Partition'.
4. Press the START button.
Hope this post helped you.
Thanks!

Stuck!
Your posting is very timely! Wife's i9000 on CM9 is acting up (wifi loop, random rebooting, and low memory errors). So I want to downgrade to my nandroid back-up with CM 7.1 or at least fresh install CM 7.2. BUT I keep ending up with my back-up on top of CM 9 boot and then getting stuck with a boot loop.
I'm guessing I need to revert to a Gingerbread boot then I can restore the nandroid backup or then upgrade to CM 7.2. I read your posting but I'm not clear where I can get the needed bootloaders. Would be great if I could skip reinstalling stock and just go straight to CM 7 (whatever version) as then I wouldn't have to reunlock the bootloader.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
The problem could be the version of CWM... both are v5? they said that nandroid backup of cwm 3 have some issues on cwm 5 (CM9 comes with cwm5).

adding the bootloader, imho isn't necessary. personally I never use them, just PDA+MODEM+CSC.
512.PIT is mandatory (yaffs2 -> rfs) , GB bootloader won't do any harm.
In case the update sequence was Froyo -> ICS, downgrade to GB will require GB bootloader.
Hi
ive download a stock odin rom from http://www.sammobile.com
but the file does not contain a PIT file
can some one please post one that i can use
im currently running the remICS rom and want to flash the latest rom for my country that ive download from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=4643
thanks
here: Odin + pit
same package as sammobile, w/o zip-password.
has 3 pit files, use pit-512 only!
ive download 2 diffrent stock odim roms but when i flash them i just get boot loops
both of the roms ive downloaded contain the one tar file so i flash it per OP
but i just get reboots so i have to reinstall the ics rom
can some one post a link to a GB rom that has all of pit, bootloader, pds, phone and csc in the one file
thanks

Thanks man, brilliant guide. Helped me a lot.
As I was busy I couldn't reply to all posts but I am happy this helped you all.
Do we really need a repartition ?
Can we downgrade from ICS to GB without this ?
Most of the forum suggest not to do that as it can lead to hard brick.

Do you have any better option to switch from ext4 to rfs?
Odin + PIT 512 + repartition prepare partition layout for Samsung stock ROM using rfs.

Thanks...
what if i am on a custom ROM like CM9,are the steps the same to going back to stock?
CM9 = ICS = Android 4.0.4
