Hi.
I use the app Quick Settings to turn mobile data off when i am done using my phone. But the data always turns on automatically after a moment. So i am forced to then Manually go into settings and turn off mobile networks.
Anyone know why this is happening ?

Not sure if it's related but have you checked if AutoSync is enabled? This *might* be the cause.
Settings >> Accounts and Sync is where its at.
Auto-sync is off.
I didnt have this problem before the OTA update. Using quick settings i cud easily switch on and off my mobile network. now i have to go in deeper using the phone settings and turn off the network.
It could be that there is a slight incompatibility between your Quick Settings app and the recent OTA update.
I'm using PhoneWeaver and ahve recently amended profiles to switch on/off the data connection. This mostly works but occasionally does necessitate me to manually switch the data connection on/off as required. To be honest I only started using this functionality after the OTA update.
A worst case scenario would see you effecting a factory reset, just installing your Quick Settings app and see how things go.
I'm getting the same thing. Hadn't occurred to me that it started after the latest update.

@mjehan
try with HTC widget
Widget --> Settings --> Mobile Network (simple widget) or Data Dashbord (Bar)
Re-installing the quick settings application did not fix the issue. Mobile Data still randomly turns on.
Will test the HTC widget now and see.
HTC widget solves this issue.

There is sync icon on the top bar when i set both background data and sync off
whats happening?
And when i check the current widget log, i'm sure there are some apps is doing sync secretly, how can i manage all of this background data and sync things??
I could be wrong but I think some widgets will sync if they are on one your home tabs and you have data connection on. Even if you have the options in settings turned off.
try to go into airplane mode and see If it stops.

Get "Mobile Data Enabler" from the market. Add the widget and shut off data there.
*Stock phone / no root*
I have only found two things to really complain about for this phone...
1) It syncs constantly and never stops until I turn it off.
2) When ever I'm on wifi, it always shows both wifi and network icons. I don't see activity on the "H" icon when on wifi but nevertheless it shouldn't be there.
Anyone with any ideas why these are happening?
Thanks in advance.

I've only noticed the H appear when on wifi if MY ACCOUNT app is open / being used. Use a task killer to stop that app and see if it goes away. Works for me

The MT4G has a "task killer" built in:
Settings > Applications > My Account > Force Stop
Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work right away... However, it seems to have passed now that I have restarted my phone a few times since my original post.
The sync part of the problem is still there and can't find a solution other than turning off sync...
Like many of you I notice that when going to the market I see the H instead of my wifi. Try this for a fix. Goto setting then account sync unchecked background sync then to the market it will tell you to turn on background sync hit enable then turn background sync back on. Seems to help some.
Update: im still have the same issue

same issue here.
I turned off my data but everytime i use the market it would turn on the edge network.
Is there a fix for this? it's pretty annoying and cost battery. Won't cost money though because I have tmobile blocked my data.

We have talked a lot about this issue in my thread:

Something weird is going on with my twitter app. I reinstalled it and logged back in and then went to settings to configure notifications and it won't even let me turn them on. What's going on? Any ideas?
Btw Sync is on.

I've had this happen to me to fix it sign out of the app go to Twitter on a PC or change the phone browser to desktop mode. In the settings revoke permission for the app then sign in on the app and it will work.

Hi I have a few apps installed and some of them will provide notification when I am on my 3G, is there a way to disable notifications for all my apps at one go or do I have to manually disable it 1 app at a time ? also are there any other ways like a firewall or something.

Yes, there are some firewall app (I dont remember, you can search on Play Store).
But you can open Settings > Data usage > select an app > select 'Restrict background data'
