Private Number in Android - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi people
When I had windows 6.5 on hd2 and made phone calls to another number not in my contact list, it would show up as Private Number. Is there and App in Android that will allow me to withhold my number if I try to ring some that is not in my contact?
Thanks

Send contact phone number or buisness card via SMS

Hi all,
Is there a way to send a contact's phone number via SMS or the whole details of a contact (buisness card)?
On smartphone software I was using "send contact", but I can't find any application for my Jam.
Thanks.
Do a serach for an application called vCard.
It works fine if you make sure the number you're sending to has the international prefix.

[Windows mobile]How to retrieve company telephone number using IContact?

Hello All,
In my application I have to retrieve all the numbers related to a contact. i.e. In Windows Mobile there are different types of numbers, like Mobile Telephone Number, Home Telephone Number, Bussiness Telephone NUmber, Company Telephone number.
There are direct API to retrieve these field except Company Telephone number.
ex: IContact::get_Home1TelephoneNumber()...
If someone tells how to retrieve the Company telephone number would be a great help to me.
Thanks

Prioritizing Called ID display for Multiple Contacts with Same Phone Number

I'm running 6.1 MR1 and sync my contacts with an Exchange Server.
I have a number of contacts that have the same office phone number, and I'm trying to figure out if there is some way to specify which contact info is displayed by Called ID when there is more than one person/entity with that phone number in my contacts.
For example, say I have individual contacts for the ABC Company, John Doe and Jane Smith. All three have the same work telephone number. When I get a call from that phone number, it could be John Doe, Jane Smith or anyone else at the ABC Company calling. Let's say that in this situation, my caller ID display always shows the incoming caller as John Doe. Is there any way to tell Windows to display the caller as the ABC Company information when it receives a call from this number instead.
I've embarrassed myself too many times thinking one person was calling when in fact it was someone else!!!
Thanks!
I've love to be able to do this too.
My problem is that I have a shared address book with all workers at my business with home as well as work numbers. My name and number are obviously in there. In a different book I have my wife's name and our home number. Whenever she calls, my name, as it's alphabetically before here, shows up first. I've tried putting a period or space before her first name hoping that it would move her up on the list, but it moves her down to the last spot of people with the same last name, and I can't change my name in the shared book.
If you're working off personal address books, I'd see if you can fudge the names so that the one you want to appear shows up alphabetically first. Then I think that's the one that gets grabbed with Caller ID
the other option. if you can edit your contacts. Would be to remove the work phone number from the individual contacts. That way it only shows for 'ABC' Company.
Thanks, Nec . . . I've removed the work numbers for the individuals as a half-baked work around. The problem is that some of them are favorite contacts (Spb Shell), so if I want to call them at work, I have to go through the directory instead of just using the picture shortcut.

Create a new SystemState Property in C#?

My goal is this: I have an external database with (company-) contacts as a SQLCE database. Since there are over 1000+ contacts in that database, I don't like the idea to 'load' all of them in my outlook. So when there's an incoming call I check if it is an outlook contact, if not I like to search the external database (by phone number) and create a contact 'on the fly' (NOT to be stored in poutlook!)
I 'detect' a new incoming call like this:
private SystemState _phoneIncomingCall = new SystemState(SystemProperty.PhoneIncomingCall);
_phoneIncomingCall.Changed += OnPhoneIncomingCallChanged;
This works like a charm. In the OnPhoneIncomingCallChanged method I check if the (new SystemState(SystemProperty.PhoneIncomingCallerContact)).CurrentValue is null. This too is working Now I would like to 'alter' the PhoneIncomingCallerContact with a contact I lookup in the other database using the incoming number. I imagine I should create a new contact and 'rethrow' the PhoneIncomingCallerContact.
The "OnPhoneIncomingCallerContact" function in the dialer should be triggered and the 'altered' contact information displayed.
Key question: can I create a SystemState(SystemProperty.PhoneIncomingCallerContact) "State and Notifications Broker" message?
And off course if so: how to do it in C#?
Another approach might be to 'unhook' the default phone application, get the incoming call and 'hook' the phone application back when I decide to take the call or reject the call?
Again: Is it possible and how to do it in C#?
Your help is appreciated...

WM 6.1 problem

Hi to all geeks,
I am using my phone some time but I have a problem with the setup of the contacts,
how can u separetly put a mobile phone number and a text message number under the same contact? Every time a cell number entered it goes the same way to text message number too.
I use a 800 number and a pin code before I dial the phone number that I reach, this cause the call history to get the wrong names from adress book. For example
I call BBB but call history shows I call AAA, just because first 10 digits is the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
