It depends on what files the ROM you've flashed include. My guess is that you need to clear the cache. So go into recovery mode and wipe the cache. Your phone will take a while to reboot as it needs to rebuild the cache but you should be fine. If that doesn't work then don't use Odin, use good software like Heimdall

If youre trying yo get into cwm you have to go to apply:update.zip. But that's only after flashing cwmrecovery.tar with odin. Also you navigate stock recovery with the volume buttons and make selections with the home button. If you restored your phone with odin it is likely to be unrooted. Furthermore, when you take it to VZW you should exchange it for a Jitterbug.

i got into cwm but nothing works to boot phone tried odin restore and nandroid restore from backup and still when i try to restart it goes straight to recovery and says manual mode get dev\block errors sometimes
try looking for the odin restore files to get you back to stock. flash those via odin and see where it takes you. Also what did you do before? Did you have voodoo installed?
Search for replies I've made. I linked them before, I had the same problem
so fresh and so superclean.
I would like to use "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754961" this method to make my gt540 get the ability to use ad-hoc network.but l tried to press home+power buttons,it just get in"safe mode".Can u guys tell me how to get in the recovery mode, thx.I'am using the official 2.1 20a rom from LG.
Stock rom doesn't have recovery
From XDA App
You will have to flash using a ROM that has fastboot enabled.
Recover mode isn't working for me either, black rom, 0.3.1 kernel, clockwork 2.5.0.5. Just a screen full of text scrolling. Any ideas?
to have recovery on your phone, you have to have a fastboot rom.
Black rom has fastboot. Tried Rom Manager and it seemed to 'try' to get into recovery but didn't, maybe a permission's thing or it doesn't work at all.
Flashed & wiped and the text problem still happened without trying clockwork so it wasn't clockwork causing the error. Bugger!
Hi everyone
i was trying to install cutom rom in my gsy. i wiped it data , cache and dalvic cache . and installed it using 'install zip from sd' mode in CWM. and rebooted and waited to start in 5 minutes . but instead it just hanged in its galaxy young screen . And i am just blank what to do next
custom rom - jellyblast 3
If you can go to recovery mode try wiping data and cache again and if you can't go to recovery mode try flashing a stock rom again

But how can i flash
My mobile hangs just in the first boot screen i.e. where it states"Samsung galaxy y young GT-5360"
please learn to search,
there are like a thousands of threads out there to teach you how to fix your phone
Use odin. Download the appropriate firmware from the general thread and use Odin 1.85 provided in the attachment. Put your phone in download mode by holding home, power and volume DOWN key. Press the volume up key to enter Odin mode. Extract your firmware files somewhere and link the relevant files in the relevant places in Odin. Dont worry about the files not present. Connect your phone and there will be an indication your phone is connected. A white area turning yellow.
Click start. Youre most likely going to experience bootloops but now you can boot into recovery and wipe data and cache and install the ROM you wanted.

you can either format data in cwm or in stock recovery format data/reset
or if that doesnt sort the boot loop quickest way to solve it is just to flash stock rom via odin
Remember next time before you do anything like flashing a mod or trying out something different to always make a nandroid backup in cwm - this way if you get into a boot loop or want to revert what you have done you just have to restore your nandroid backup
anyway stock rom firmware is found on my thread below

follow the instructions fully on my thread
you need to install the usb drivers
you need to put your phone into download mode (vol down home button power button)
cwm is not required and not used to flash stock rom via odin - you must be in download mode NOT recovery mode

odin
Use odin to flash stock rom. This should fix it
Whats happening when you click on reboot device........
Is your device starting up??????
Ok
If you can go to download mode and use odin its fine
If you cant go to download mode follow these steps...........
Remove phones battery.... connect it to laptop using usb cable
(Yeah with battery removed)
Now try to go-to download mode and it should go by any means
Now use Odin and flash stock firmware
Contact me if you have any doubts
