Here's the info from my information page on the phone:
Model: T-Mobile myTouch 3G
Firmware version: 1.6
Baseband version: 62.50sc.20.17U_2.22.23.02
Kernel version: 2.6.29-g023e5c9, [email protected] #3
Build number: 2.10.531.4 CL119339 release-keys
Also, it has the jack on the top of the phone.
I'm having trouble finding a How-To for this phone. Some sites say
don't do this on 1.6, others say don't do this if you have the jack.

What spl and radio do you have?
Power off your phone.
Hold volume down + power button while starting.
You should see a white screen.
Type out everything on that screen here.
Wait for a reply.
One thing I can tell you its probably a 32a phone if it has the 3.5mm jack on top of the phone.
heres a link to help you out. otherwise there is turn of info on ROM and rooting the 32a

Also... just FYI, you have a MyTouch 1.2, which requires 32B radios and roms and your stock spl (s-on). As of today December 29, 2010, you must have this. An Eng SPL (s-off) will not work and other radios are too risky and offer nothing different performance or reception wise. Always treat your phone as a 32B or you might break your phone.
Er... even though the phone says 32A on that screen you sent me to?
EDIT
Also, what ROM do I use? I went here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/files/category/1-stable-mod/
and I don't see my Mytouch 1.2 in the list.

Trust me. I have the same device. It says 32A but it's a 32A/32B hybrid. The only thing that is 32A is the RAM.
Use roms made for G1/MyTouch 32B devices.
Google G1 isn't in that MOD list, either.

The G1 = HTC Dream.
Like MyTouch 3G = HTC Sapphire.

Shouldn't it be:
Saphire SPL 32A ENG S-ON H
I'm not even sure 's-on' and 's-off' means...
If there's any radio, or SPL i need to update.. please let me know.
Thank you.
You have the Engineering SPL already flashed is all.
Here's a thread on the various SPLs.

Thank you.
Then how come I am bound to the rogers phone compatibility?
Rom for rogers HTC Magic phone
Above roms works for me, but
CyanogenMod v4.0.4
doesn't work for me.
Does it have to do with SPL version? or phone itself?
Thanks.
Also, why is mine 'Unkwown' not 'PVT'?

You need to use ROMs for a 32A board, the second ROM your trying to install is for the G1.

Ok So I have a Mytouch 1.2 and a Fender and they have been rooted with the goldcard style.
I'm ready to change firmware but dont know which to get It showed I was 32b before the root now its 32A
Do I use a firmware for the original 32B from before root or use 32A for after root.

You have a 32B
So I should use 32B firmware even after the root changed me to 32A, Correct?

You never had a 32A and never will. Yes, 32B.
Let me straighten this out.
The phone is a 32A/32B hybrid. It's a 32B phone with twice the memory as normal 32B devices (equally as much as 32A) so it uses a 32A memory map. Which is why it says 32A. HOWEVER, it requires 32B radios, roms and kernels. Fair warning, unless you design a rom specifically for your device (and the only rom out there is stock) you will NEVER take advantage of that extra ram that comes with the phone because of the different memory map. It's gone, wasted. Because the kernel's that you use are built for devices that have less memory. Kinda like running Windows 7 x86 with 16gb of ram. It runs no different than if you had 4gb of ram. (Poor example but best I could think of.) So you will want to treat it as a 32B otherwise you can break your phone. I would dare to say that at least half of the problems in this forum for people with this device are because they break their phones trying to treat it as a 32A. Don't be one of them!
Thank you i am now informed. I am used to G1's i know there isnt alot different but rather be safe then sorry. Thanks again.

Sure not a problem. Refer to the G1 section for the majority of ROMs to use on your device.
My phone seems to drop a lot of call's and my signal streangth is very low. If I were to update my phones Radio would it help me ?? I have been using the same radio since my first ROM update about a year ago, but the signal issue has only started in the last few months.
If a new Radio will help at all ... please point me in the right direction as to how to update it, and what update I should use on my 32A.
Thank you for any help !

My T-Mobile MyTouch is rooted and running:
Kernel - 2.6.35.7 & CyanogenMod-6.1.0-RC1-DS
Android - 2.2.1
Build - FRG83
I never noticed better reception on the new radio but you can always give it a try. You don't have a true 32A device btw. You need to read the last post in the stickied thread for myTouch 1.2's (headphone Jack). It's actually a hybrid phone. Currently the only radios known to work for it are the one you have, 2.22.28.25, and 2.22.27.08.

I am looking for the original stock ROM of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G with 3.5mm jack (1.2). I search in the Official HTC Sapphire/Magic/MT3G ROM links thread but there is no link for it. Could someone lead in the right way? Too appreciate any help.

What benefits bring the HTC Unlock Bootloader to myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm 32A
Should I need to restore my spl and radio or this is better?
By the way, which custom spl works in my phone?

I manage to root my phone by trial and error with a combination of three applications:
Superoneclick
z4root
Universal Androot
I don't remember which one and what version but they help me. I suggest to try all.

I finally got it.. learned alot .. then i had to reroot it cause i restored tmous and during the process flashed the wrong eng spl it powers on but no fast boot or recovery. I guess jtag is the only option.. sad part is its my girlfriends from
Sad to hear that. These devices are in big problems when spl and radio don't matches the originals.
Good lock on jtag, sorry I can't help you in that.
