Hello,
I just got the HTC Touch HD and i love it. The only problem is that it is currently make a sound when i remove and/or put back the pen. At first i didn't got this sound. But when i perform a reboot the sound is gone.
I don't know what activates this sound.
Anyone with the same problem and/or someone with a solution?
Greetz,
LeDieu
check its not on silent ,
The sound doesn't occures when the sound is on silend.
I think this sound is caused by any program you installed. When you perform a Soft Reset the sound goes away because the program probably doesn´t start with WM. But once you run it, it´ll come back.
Ow indeed your right.
The application that is making the sound is "Gyrator 2".
You can disable this sound by goint to "gyrator 2". The to events and the edit the event "stylus in" and/or "stylus out" and the go to action. Then uncheck the option "play alert sound".
Thanks,
LeDieu.
Has anyone found a fix for turning sd card notifications off yet? every time I plug my hero in it plays my default notification sound, and it is quite annoying.
bueller?
anyone?
Does anyone know how to disable the sound notification when plugging into USB? I've seen a few posts here and on other sites, but they don't seem to be relevant to the X (I guess some other phones have a "None" or "Silent" option for the notification sound, while the X doesn't).
I also have SD card notification turned off, and USB debugging off, and still no go. I keep my volume turned up so I can hear it ring when I'm in the car or anywhere there's background noise, but when I plug it into USB it plays the "Droid" sound kind of loud. It's bugging me and probably other people near me at work...
Any help?
No ideas? Anyone?
Install Audio Manager and use the widget to reduce the "Alerts" volume. That will leave your "Ringer" volume up to the higher level. Of course, this will lower all of your alerts (incoming text messages, etc), but it leaves your ringer alone.
Thanks, but that's not any better than having it say Droid...then I'll never know it when I get emails/texts, unless I happen to see the blinking light.
I think I'll just deal with it though, it's not a huge issue, and I don't normally plug it in and unplug it that often that it's really a problem...just on occasional annoyance.
It's really annoying that argubly the best Android phone out there lacks features everyother Android phone has.
In your main settings change notification to silent. In gmail settings change the tone to what you want and in your sms change your notification to what you want.

I am unable to get this to work. There is no "silent" notification ringtone. Putting the phone on "silent mode" does exactly what you would expect. I can change individual sounds per application (calendar, text, email, etc) but whatever I have set in the main settings of the phone will be the ringtone for the USB connect. I'd rather not have to create a blank MP3 because that's just dumb that I would have to go that length to do something so simple.
OK, what I did is just change the Notification ringtone to "Look at Me". It's not a perfect solution, but it's much quieter, so I can deal with it.
I know this is an older post but there is a check box for SD card notifications under settings, sound. Just un-check it.

I have an MP3 clip as the ringtone, works fine no issues but every week or so I notice the ringtone has changed to a standard windows sound and the reminder settings switches off vibrate.
I've not found any other settings changed just those two and can't think of anything being done on the phone prior to the problem that could cause it.
Any ideas...

Click to collapse
Maybe you delete the file

No file is still there, I simply select it again and everything back to normal. It's the reminder that's annoying, it turns off the sound (a standard alarm sound) and just has vibrate which I don't always notice.
Do you connect your phone via Active Sync and then choose "diskdrive"?
I've had the same problem and noticed this happened when i connected to a computer using this option. You probably have this ringtone stored on your SD-card.
When connecting your phone as a diskdrive to your computer the sd-card becomes ïnvisible for your phone (you can't access it anymore from your phone). I guess this is why the phone automatically switches the ringtone back to standard.
Solution: store your desired ringtone on the internal memory.
good luck
Great, thanks for the tip I will check and if so move the mp3 clip to phone memory.
Thanks
I am probably missing something in the many seetings menus, but the phone sounds and notifications only come through the bluetooth earpiece when the bluetooth is on, not the phone speaker.
Is there a way to have the phone speaker ring (or provide text alerts and such) while the bluetooth is enabled?
Thanks.
Try going into cyanogen mod settings-sound and at the bottom there are three lists and above them it says "play sounds always through speaker " I believe that's what you need

I did try that.
At the top of that section, it says that "the headings below apply only when headphones are used".
So, no sound yet through the speaker while using bluetooth.
Edit: Hmm, this must be one of those things that has a mind of its own. I am getting speaker sounds now.
How many of these settings get lost or change during a re-boot or power off with an SD card based system? Is there a way to save settings?
