Wondering why some websites still detects that I'm on a "mobile devices". All my settings are the same as my evo. I don't have the issue with my evo. Tried skyfire and dolphin hd.
Thanks

I have been trying to get my hd2 running android to get to planet3 when using my 3 connection. I can browse the internet but if I try to navigate to the planet3 page i get a message saying that I am outside the 3 network, which I am clearly not. My apn settings seems the standard one having had a good look on the web. if i run winmo i have no problems.
Is 3 banning my phone because I co running android and cannot identify the phone?
Before I begin some information on the phone that might help...
The phone was bought through TELUS and of course is unlocked, it is running Stock Android 2.3.4. It is rooted (though the issue was the same when it wasn't) and it seems to be the same problem on Opera 10 as well as the default browser.
The Problem is whenever I attempt to login to a webiste on either the default browser or Opera 10, it does some sort of various issue ultimately failing to login. Over Wi-Fi this does not happen at all, but on the 3G connection with TELUS, It refuses to logon to any website.
Things Tried-
-Clearing all history cache browsing data etc.
-Restarting
-Opera browser
Have you tried fixing permissions through recovery.
I use the dolphin browser, but sometimes i get certificate not verified when trying to go to Sprint and a few other sites. But it doesn't not allow me to log in.
Have you checked browser settings to allow cookies and the others to see what they are set at.

Yes, I have tried all of those as well as the in browser settings and still no luck.
Is there any way to get the N7 to not register as a mobile device for internet purposes? I am sick of trying to go to websites and only being able to get the mobile version.

Don't know about the N7 as mine hasn't arrived yet, but you should be able to change your user agent in Settings>More>UA String.
If you're browsing the web with Google Chrome, hit the menu button, then check off "Request Desktop Site".

That works at first, but a lot of times if you "open in new tab" it opens the link in the mobile version again. Then I click "Request Desktop Site" and it sends me to the start of the website, where i have to find the link I just clicked and click it again. Makes tabbed browsing useless.
Use another browser like opera and you can set your user agent across all tabs.

Boat Browser and set the user agent to Desktop, Android, iPhone, IE, Firefox, Safari, iPad...whatever

My 7.7 cannot load the following web page using WI-FI at home:
WWW.TVCatchup.com (when I type it into the address bar and press return)
I've also tried linking to the page froma the result of a google search but that doesn't work either.
I've tried several browsers but it always says "web page not available"
I can load the page using my laptop or Note so nothing wrong with my Internet connection.
I think this problem is related to my TVCatchup app not working for I also cannot load the iphone.tvcatchup.com page either.
I'm really stumped on this problem and would be grateful for any ideas
I have downloaded the Ping & DNS app from the Google Play store and used that to test TVCatchup.com and it could not Ping it and I've done a route trace to show where it failed.
I also Pinged Google.com and I attach my 7.7 screen shots to show the results.
So it seems my 7.7 is ok but there is a problem reaching TVCatchup
I would be grateful for any ideas where to go now.
Where in the world are you?
I believe Tvcatchup is UK only. Whne I first ran it , it identified my ISP (Virgin) and confirmed the service was available. Then went on to flawlessly stream to my wifi only Tab.

I live in the UK and I can use TVCatchup on my Note.
I attach the traces from my failed 7.7 and successful Note.
It does look like the trace fails when it reaches UK servers.
So my 7.7 not only cannot get the TVCatchup app from the Play store to work, but as can be seen from the attached pictures it cannot even access the TVCatchup website.
SUCCESS
I changed the router and that fixed the fault. It is strange that the original router worked with my laptop and Note but not the 7.7.
To public WiFi like in Walmart I'm a able to connect to it but then I get this message on my browser when trying to search for something?
I tried turning it off and on but still have the same problem. My brothers were able to connect and browse just fine.

Does it work in Chrome?
The wifi is trying to redirect your phone to the signin page, but your browser sees it as a security problem and blocks it. There are a number of potential solutions to try. If you google for something like "open wifi popup can't connect" and similar to that, more will come up.
--Try temporarily disabling popups in Opera and get it to work.
--Clear the cache for Opera.
--For alternate browsers, try searching for something in Chrome and see if it redirects to the login page for you. Using Dolphin set to "Desktop" (vs. Mobile) may also work.
--Alternatively, when the login page comes up for your brothers, make a note of it and type it into Opera.
