I imagine he is referring to how snappy JL4 and JL5 have been. The JL5 modem has been blazing fast on data [for me.]

You supposed correctly, But The devs also tweak the custom rom and get rid of all the bloatware........ so the factory will be fast but the custom will be faster.

Yea since leaks are test builds not all bugs are gone so they're fast but on the official+ custom rom it will be a beast and the oc kernel will finally ne.made and not use a i9000 one

I don't use EE03 because of instability. It reconnects to USB while it's plugged in and continues to do so, without unplugging it.
And GPS doesn't work. If those worked, I'd use gingerbread like no tomorrow.
Im ready to try V7....... Ive had a good experience with all of marusants ee03 roms and been using as a daily from the beginning
I did the whole DK28 thing. Eventually all the little things added up to being able to wait. From what I read, my low patience level would/could be tested instantly. It'll wait and get a custom rom off the actual drop. It's only 2-3 weeks out, from what it sounds like. At 32 years old, that's 2 ****s away. I loooove stability, blazing speed and stability. In that order. Leaked versions don't float my boat.

insanely hot running, battery life is horrible, (on all three roms... not sure, maybe its just 'my phone'), settings not sticking, (settings service constantly running)... thought the USB connection was just my stock cable becoming TOTALLY useless... but yeah, works fine...
Dont get me wrong... I LOVE your ROM, all the GB ones... maybe its just that im right on a sprint/roam border, so unless I roam control I constantly switch back and forth...
From my experience with marcusants EE03 roms they're neither slow nor laggy if installed properly. It just works (Steve Jobs ref) Ive had incredible battery life, quick locking GPS and no lag. I think the install sequence is the key when coming from EC05

RAM Optimization script

Now that I have found is I can't live without it. This script eliminates bootlags and boosts performance system wide. It is totally safe. I am using it on my HTC Thunderbolt, MyTouch 4G, and my Samsung Galaxy Tab.

EI22 vs Stable GB from DEVs

Does anyone know what EI22 could even potentially bring to the plate that the good devs haven't already achieved through stabilizing EH17?

An official build, newer files to work with. Whether people believe it or not EH17 has many outdated bits and pieces which makes certain things involving CM and or MIUI rather annoying to try to fix, when we can't have anything newer to work off of. It could me a stable build altogether or it could be worse, but it'd have newer things to test with.
EH17 is far from "stable"...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Here ya go.
There's a comparison.
Since there is no EI22 and no changelog....no way of knowing. When an OTA hits or another phone besides "Lonny's" gets it, no way of knowing.

Since none of us have seen EI22 yet, I doubt there is an answer. It's possible that all that has changed is the kernel, and we have what we think is a current kernel so there are no changes.
It's possible that there is a newer better modem that uses less battery and gets better signal. They may have better drivers or more bug fixes in apps.
We'll have to wait and see.

No it is perfectly stable with the new kernels from source release. The other stuff are enhancements. How is OC ever considered a stability fix? GPS works fine too. Just Moar's file makes it better. Solid as a rock with any ROM and new kernel...period.

Semantics!
Point is, we can put together a solid reliable "stock" gingerbread in a few easy clicks. We already have something possibly better than what we are whining about wanting to be released

Need a new rom to use!!!

Need a rom to use! I've tried trigger and it wasn't as customizable. I'm currently using cyanogen. Way more customizable but is slower.... I want to use a rom that can get atlest a 20000 benchmark. With these I've only gotten about 13000 -15000. I still want a gingerbread look or above.

If your into experimenting Eugene is working on an ICS rom. It is still in Alpha but data works you can make calls receive text. Not recommended for daily use as the camera and GPS don't work as of yet, but if you don't mind being on the bleeding edge its an awesome start.

I used to be a big benchmark dude, however ive found overclocking cant make up for bloat. Streamline, day to day use ill take snappy over speed, check cpu spy usage, you rarely use 1200 or 1300. the vibrant cpu is just working with what you loaded.

+1 Once I found out that you can cheat Quadrant benchmarks about a year ago, I never took much stock in them and have not posted any scores bc I agree with Tibbs, functionality and snappiness are where the payday is at. Anyone can pull a 2500-3000 on Quadrant with a few build.prop and egl edits but if you have constant FC's, then what is the point? I'm using Toxic8 OC'd at 1200 and pull 2100's but I never get FC's and it is a great daily driver.
