Hi guys,
following problem, have my galaxuy tab connected to my company exchnage account. All works fine, just one problem when I receive calendar invitations..
the buttons to Accept, Reject the invitation are missing.
Never had that problem on my HTC HD2 with Android on it.
Found some others with the same problem online, but no resolution available.
Anybody any idea?
This is really annoying and unexpected.
I have a Nexus One for a year now, and accepting invitations an android is a core feature and working great since Android 2.2, but is obviously not implemented in Samsungs email.apk for the Galaxy Tab.
Alternative
Well there is always another way. . . Using TouchDown now from NitroDesk and really happy with that. . . Faster. . All features back and very reliable
Hi
What you could try to do is to look at what date the invitation concerns and then open up your calender and go to that date and you should be able to accept/decline the invitation.

How do I know the email I received is a calendar request?
If yes, how do I accept/reject the calendar request?
not possible yet
wait for Froyo 2.2
or get a 3rd party software
I only manage to accept Exchange meeting invitation on XWJM1, not the other firmwares, I do not know why.

cannot accept even on Froyo
I am running SGS with Tayutama.
There is no possibility to accept exchange meeting from my mail. I can only repy to it, forward it, and save it to calendar like a new meeting (only body of original message is used, not proposed times, subject and participants.
Is there anybody who can do it on Froyo? I am just wondering, if this is fault of my phone, Tayutama ROM, or whatever...

I can accept but I am using the aosp email instead
I haven't seen a post on this issue yet with the Galaxy Tab.
I'm unable to accept calendar invites via exchange mail on the Tab. The Samsung Mail / Calendar apps do not seem to support it at this time. Its such a shame because I was 100% happy with it, until I realized this one vital yet unsupported feature.
Anyone have a fix for this?
I have purchased "Touchdown for Exchange" when I first got my N1, however I don't really consider this a fix since it doesn't integrate nicely into the existing phone features. Would like it to be natively run so it integrates nicely with other features in the phone. It works great on the N1 now running Cyanogen Mod 6, however sad its not running on the Tab.
Yep. I have touchdown as well and am not quite happy of how it integrates :-(.

It's the same problem on the Galaxy S, or Motorola Milestone or...long story short, the Exchange license Android has doesn't include full functionality, the calender invites being the biggest loss.
Hi,
i think there might be some people who had just updated their SGS2 to the latest ICS might face same issue, so i started a thread here.
i will first illustrate what i encounter.
1. i have trying to sync my company email through SGS2 email app, through Microsoft Activesync option.
2. i key in the correct email address password, press on Micorsoft Activesync, the app will link me to key in domain info, email server info, SSL info, etc
3. sync option/setting and sync email/calendar/contacts by default, choose push method to sync.
4. click next and securities is enforced to my phone
5. now the sync is started.
sync of Contacts and Calendar works alright(i have not found any obvious problem so far)..
but i found problem in sync of email. the syncronization is slow(in both 3G and Wifi network). it always sync halfway(eg. choose to sync email for 1 day), and only have maybe 20 emails syncs and it will stop syncing. when press Refresh, it says "connection error(email name)".
i tried to send out email using this email app, it works...
this really puzzle me.. is it that i setup the email wrongly? or there is really some bug in this app??
Note: when i was using Gingerbread, the email app works perfectly, and sync using push method is almost the same pace as my laptop MS Outlook.
please dont flame on me. any suggestions/inputs/experience are welcome.
thanks.

from what i have read in the past few days, its a known issue and i think there isn't a fix for it yet.
Thanks for you comment. Seems like not many people discuss about this. No new thread about this. Hence I open a new thread.
Anyone has similar experience or had no problem at all please fell free to comment.

Happens with Facebook notifications too. But indeed the Sammy app does actually sync properly when Gmail doesn't.

Hi mokkimhong
I'm having the same issue. It works perfectly on WIFI, but as soon as a switch to Cellular it stops working.
I have recreated the Account from scratch using Cellular connection, then it works for a few minutes/hours. Suddenly it will just stop with the same error you are getting.
After that I'm forced to used WIFI only. Very frustrating!!!
Anyone have a fix, please post.
Thanks!
same thing here, even when i run ICS custom ROMs
there's already a thread about this, with more details on the problems and bugs. also for some users / exchange types, there seem to be some workarounds: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1545986

Ya I was in that boat... Set my retrieval size to 100kb and changed my push settings to 5min intervals and all seems fine now. Not the best I know but a decent work-around until this is sorted out.
Thanks heldchen
Will go check it out!
Sucked!!!
Hi,
I am also facing the same issues (same device and same os). Please tell some solution or better alternative free apps which i can use instead to ms active sync.
Advance Thanks ...
---------- Post added at 11:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 AM ----------
Hey guys,
There is solution for that active sync problem, just try setting "Size to retrieve emails = 100 kb". Its working for me ...
hi guys, just realised this problem with my SGS II. Running on ICS 4.0.3 and push with full email retrieval isn't working on stock Gmail...
For now sync manually, however noticed that Calendar and Contacts are ok...
I have had the same problem. I'm using ICS 4.0.3 in a Samsung Galaxy 2
Since I'm updated to ICS, I've lost my corporate mails (gmail worked fine).
I've deleted and re-created my account several times. Yesterday, I realized that one more day had been added to my email's list. Current setup established 2 weeks sync and my retrieval size to 100kb
What I did was to set my retrieval size to Total and reduce the sync to only three days. Ta daaaaaaaaaaa. It has been working for two complete days now.
Hope this helps
Best
I have had BIG problems having allowed an update on HTC Sync Manager.
It trashed my Outlook contacts and repeated the corruption of all my data numerous times after HTC Support asked me to re-install and try again.
Latest support action is to remove the new version and re-install back to the previous.
SO I hope I have flagged up a useful warning and advise a good backup of all data before allowing the update on your system.
Best Regards
Worth noting, but this is why I have all my contacts on my Gmail account - I learnt the hard way years ago about having them in Outlook
One of the best things about Google is cloud services. I migrated all my contacts to Google looooooong ago. How else can the NSA fund out who my friends are?
On a side note, the new sync update brought Google drive functionality. Obviously more there for Max / sense 5.5 customers

Speaking of the NSA: just ask them if you may borrow their copy of your uncorrupted contacts.

Exactly why I now keep evrything on my Hard Disc and my important stuff in Ye Olde Filofaxe!
Got an update from HTC support conerning this though.

So looks like they are aware of the problem and will sort it out soon......
Yes, I Know, Don't hold your breath etc. No need to all shout!
Cheers.
Got the same issues with updated version Sync Manager. Spoken to HTC 4 times with little satisfaction. The problem with HTC Sync Manager is that it informs you of updates and asks would you like to install them, when you choose no, sync manager then dosnt work as it says you need the latest version. My issue involves syncing between handset and PC is unstable, sometimes appointments sync to the correct day sometime they dont. Not all Contacts sync either. HTC have really fu%^$ up this one. Does anyone have a solution?

Made my day
My dad just got a note 3 from an iphone 5. This was a huge step for him and he loves the phone. The only problem is his Exchange email folders are not syncing. This is a deal breaker for him and he will go back to iphone if I cant resolve this issue.
Sending and receiving emails works great. The sub folders are the only problem. His folder structure looks something like thins
Inbox
-HR
-Personnel
--person1
--person2
-To Do
Inbox and HR are the only two folders showing up. I have removed and re-added the account too many times to count. I set the sync to 1 month and manually put emails from today in the missing folders. I have tried 3 days sync as well, no luck. I have gone though ever single setting and cant figure this issue out.
Today I downloaded touchdown and folders synced perfectly. Is there something I am missing? Are others having this issue? I haven't found any solutions on Google or Searching this forum.
One last thing, I am one of the admins for the company. No other Android or Samsung users have this issue. We have exchange 2007 and 2010.
Thanks,
MC

It's a known issue. Some stock email apps don't sync all folders. You can use either Touchdown on your Note 3 or buy a Sony Xperia Z1, where the stock email is able to sync all folders. :cyclops:
Unless Samsung updates the Email App, there is no way to fix your problem.
thanks. are there any better alternatives to touchdown. The UI is horrendous. Not a fan of K9 either. But at least they work
K9 seems to have been updated since I last looked at it. Ill give that a shot too. Are all users having this issue. This particular user has an ridiculous amount of email. but I don't think that is the issue here.

REALLY? How?
Do tell me, because I have a friend with a Z1 and is cursing exactly because he cannot exactly that.
And he has a tree of around... 50 tree nodes in his mail, that he needs to MANUALY set to "push" one by one! (exactly like my Galaxy Note 1)
Do you know a better way?
Try k9..not the app store version.. download from the development site
http://code.google.com/p/k9mail/downloads/list
Try 4.800 the 4.801 file is corrupt I think.
Been using this .

I have the same issue
Hi, I got Galaxy bought 3 4G model & we are using Exchange Email Cloud (Office 365). See guys, I was using Galaxy Note 2 with the same email address & account (Nothing changed on the Exchange Configuration) & the stock email with Note 2 working perfectly (Android Version 4.1.2).
As I can see the Note 3 has Android 4.3 & Stock email has an updated version (Lighter GUI). I'm trying to analyse the problem but it seems the problem is from the stock email where Samsung should have an update that can fix this big issue.
BTW, I tried also to configure another account on the same device (Note 3) & the problem still appear.
I have a suggestion guys, what about sending an email to Samsung directly describing the issue. It might help? Am I Right?
Awaiting your feedback.
Stock email app
Same issue here. Very annoying. Been using touchdown for awhile and I love it. Does anyone know whether you can create subfolders of inbox (running exchange) in touchdown?
