I got a mytouch 4g for the simple fact
1)Webcam
2)Wi-fi calling
Unfortunately, I can't use the webcam really as most ppl i know don't videochat much so idk how it really works or if it works
But my wi-fi calling seems horrible. Literally it sucks.
I did a wi-fi call and the quality is even more choppy
then when I am just using the network with 1 bar or no bars showing
It cuts in and out.
Is there anything i can do to fix this?
Also,
I notice my wi-fi signal loses a bar when i hold it at the top left(like i were trying to block the sun out, if i barely have my hand blocking the phone at the top left side i will lose part of wi-fi signal
Please post questions in Q&A section.

Hey guys i have a few questions, i'm going to buy an xperia x1a in about two weeks or so.
People are saying when the phone goes on stand by, it disconnects you from windows live messenger. Does this happen because of what you're connected to?(edge,gprs,3g,hsdpa,wifi) Or does it have to do with software? I'm mainly going to use edge on it, will i face this disconnect problem? Is there any fix to this problem? I like being on windows live messenger all day
Does anyone live near Boston Massachusetts using the t-mobile network? If so, how is you're signal reception there and the call quality?
Someone said, when someone calls him, he cant hear the person for about 2 seconds or so. is this happening to everyone's? or was it just his?
Are there any other problems i should be aware of before i buy it? :O

I think it will only disconnect while using WiFi, because the wireless network adapter shuts off when the phone goes into standby.

you can change this behavior using advanced config, just tick enable wifi in standby mode.
one imp. problem you should keep in mind that.. xperia has very low volume in speaker.. so if you are on bike or walking on the road or bazar.. it will be hard to listen ring....
battery doesnt last for a single day too if you are using couple of softwares
rest everything is find with xperia x1
mine last for 2 days
but then i don't have wifi on when
it's off and don't have a active data connection
with 3g
I don't think the ring volume will be a problem, my phone is usually on silent
When you're calling someone, does the volume sound very low or is it normal?
most folks find x1 external speaker a little soft
yeah both ring tone and vibration is pretty soft imho
at times i don't notice recieving sms'r or even a call
when having the phone in my pants pocket
well my x1 is brilliant, ecspecially with itjes touch it wm6.5 rom.
Battery lasts about 2 days, i listen to the music on it for about three hours a day and i make 2-6 hrs worth of calls.
no cracks in my case...(yet). mine is one of the newer built x1's and is holding up well. no problems with answering a call. i can hear the other person fine, no delays.
speaker is quite low, but i feel the vibration even when im running or summat.
Any more questions? fire them my way.
a couple more questions please
I was thinking of getting x1a
I saw 2 speakers (one on each side towards bottom) in manual I downloaded at Sony USA, Is it so?
Any idea if Inesoft phone, Adobe 2.0 & ListPro show up okay on the WVGA
Thanks a lot
i believe it disconnects when the screen is turned off
Outcast,
I do not use LiveMessenger that often, but I use it once during travel, for more than three hours, and it worked perfectly.
Since I passed a great distance, I changed a lot of cell station and GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA worked seamlessly..
Inesoft works.

it doesnt for me(wifi) , and i can copy/install/play internet radio/messanger/etc with it in stand by mode .
and yes the batt is pretty sucky cuz it gets warm when u use the phone in charge , and i guess it damages itself by the heat , but u should consider getting a 1800mah Mugen battery like im doing .
other than that , its a really cool phone .
also , the screen may not be as big as some other phones(iphone, touch hd) , but it doesnt give u the feeling ur holding an oven pan either
I was wondering if anyone else was running into something like this.
I have a T-Mo band N1 with AT&T service so I max out at EDGE, but something strange happens when I'm calling people from my house. Sometimes the other person will just stop hearing me but I can still hear them, it seems to fix itself after a random amount of time but sometimes it doesn't. But before the two way connection is reestablished one party has usually ended the call.
The strange part is when the call is ended I see that my connection has switched over to GPRS and after a few seconds it will switch back to EDGE. I assume that the switch from EDGE to GPRS during the call and that's when the other person can no longer hear me. When I start the call I have 3 or 4 bars on EDGE so I don't know why my N1 would switch to GPRS during the call.
This doesn't happen when I'm outside, but this happens when I'm not wandering around my house so the signal should be pretty stable. It has happened whether I'm holding my phone in my hand or it's sitting on my table with the speaker activated. There have also been times when I've spent an hour or two on the phone at home without this happening at all.
Anyone else having this problem or have any idea what may be causing this?
actually i notice my data connections disconnect like if i am downloading or uploading or connecting to something and i switch between H-3G-E i lose the connections. i didnt put much thought into it but i guess its -1 for me.
if i hold it like a normal person would hold it, it drops calls like crazy. i find myself having to do the iPhone hold on it and it works fine. anybody else having this problem? any solutions?
Absolutely no problems here with reception and calls regardless of how I hold the phone.
I haven't dropped a single call. I even kept reception in a spot here I have dropped calls with every other phone I have ever had.

Same. Especially since Samsung has been so bad in this regard.
i think i hold the phone like most people do.. no problems at all.
I've noticed that if I hold my hand over the bottom of the backside of the phone, I will lose a couple bars. But my signal isn't that great to begin with. Never dropped a call, though.
I don't get any drop calls, I held my phone like the way it should be and no problem at all. I have the iPhone 4 also and I like the Vibrant more
I was on a call today to a land line and my call dropped 3 times while I had full signal strength. Somethings fishy. The phone was in speakerphone mode in a cradle.

I'm pretty sure that's not what this thread is about, but it does sound like an issue. I've never had a dropped call on T-Mobile, unless I went into a dead zone which only happened once. That was also like 5 years ago.
havent had any dropped calls even in my old apartment where I wasnt able to get any signal with my blackberry.
Probably a lemon, get a replacement.
My bars are all over the place when I hold it with my right hand, but I normally talk on my left and I've yet to loose a call. Sounds awesome via the speaker too.
Quit trying to be as good, or bad, as the iPhone. Jesus.
You know, I've noticed that when I press END I have a dropped call, just like the I gadget.
The Samsung Vibrant does have the antenna built on the lower left corner. If you look at disassembling process from youtube, you will find it justified.
Some do claim their Vibrant will have a similar death-grip issue when holding where the antenna is built, but so far not much ppl reported an actual drop call, just a few bars dropped which may affect the quality of the call~

Could be the fact that its too new..Almost every electronic has problems. Remember when the 360 and ps3 would litteraly explode? Same thing with this id guess
I haven't dropped any calls yet, but I've missed a few because I was holding the phone in my left hand and using the browser or typing an SMS. I will just randomly get voice mail notifications, without the phone ever ringing. When I get the notification I'll look at the signal strength meter and there will be no bars. Switching the phone back to my right hand (or setting it down) will return to full signal strength.
Has anyone noticed any issues with wifi calling and or VOLTE?
On both setups I feel like the phone goes silent more than it ever did on my iphone... In order to get the silence to die usually if I toggle on hold or off hold or wifi on or off it tends to come back but i feel like for some reason volte/wifi calling isn't handled as well on the s7 edge?

I've had no problems with both on. In fact, both of these features are working way better than they did on the S6 (which I've theorized was because of the Exynos processor). Great call quality, no battery drain when active (I've had them on for the entire week I've had the phone with no cell-standby drain). I'm not sure what you mean by "silence." You can't hear the other person?
Yeah while on a conference call it goes completely silent.
(Headset speaker phone or regular)
I replaced my screen myself from buying a replacement screen and watching a few youtube tutorials. After I got the back off, it was actually quite easy.
But since I put everything together, I've had really terrible reception. I get 4G but the signal is low, but I can't seem to make a call. It says "mobile network is unavailable" sometimes or sometimes it just doesn't connect when I try to make a call. I can't receive calls either.
I assume something happened to the antenna when I replaced it? Anybody have any ideas? Everything appears to be fine, but I'm not sure where the antenna even is.
