Weird root issue - Galaxy Tab General

I'm on JMD firmware.I've done the SuperOneClick 1.5.5. automated rooting process. It said it's done. After that i have been succesfully started marketacces and emulated tmob us which needs root privileges. My problem is with the Titanium Backup:when i click on the icon to start it pop-ups the superuser(to alllow its root acces)then i click on acces and after it says "titanium backup granted superuser acces" or something like this, then TITANIUM BACKUP POPS UP THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGE:
"Sorry i could not aquire root privileges. This application will not work! Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox and try again"
I've already rebooted quite a few times, wiped all, reinstall firmware and do rooting process again and same happened.
Any ideas or solution?

Install busybox from the market... fixed mine with same issue.

Titanium Backup Cant Find Root

I have an htc incredible with 2.2 froyo installed.
version 2.2
kernel 2.6.32.15
baseband 2.15.00.07.28
and s-off
When I startup titanium backup the app says that it can not find root.
it is allowed in superuser, and super user starts up fine as well as some other root only apps.
Help?
Probably saying something about installing busybox, too. Right?

Firstly sorry for asking dumb questions, I didn't see the problems button at first.
Secondly what does busy box do. Doesn't super user already give it all the permissions it needs?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Idk but just open busybox, first time it always fails for me. Just click install again then titanium will work.

busybox is like DOS/*nix/etc prompt, only that it processes commands in the background. Even you have a working copy of Busybox installed, it's a good idea to hit said button and download a specific version of Busybox for TB (don't worry, it doesn't overwrite any existing copy of busybox).

Root you Galaxy Tab - It Works!

Taken from the Captivate from forums. The rageagainstthecage method works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
I have rooted the Tab using this one click method.
How do you have the Tab? Your using a prototype or something?
Got it from Italy. It is being sold there right now. I can refer you to an eBay seller who ships internationally if you like (via pm only)

I'm confused. Where is the info to root the Tab and my Captivate with the one click method. I don't see any instructions, links, etc. Did I miss something? Please pardon my ignorance. I'm new to Droid. Ditched my iPhone. Yay!!
not working for me
it seems, the one click root will work, but it does NOT.
superuser app is installed by oneclick windows exe, but if i start titanium backup, it asks for super user rights, but the super user app shows an error message.
"NO ROOT RIGHTS! sorry"
i got my samsung galaxy pad yesterday in milano/italia with stock rom.
useful hints?
Universal androot will not work, too.

Correction!
Titanium now works and is green listed in superuser app.(I HAVE INSTALLED THE BUSYBOX INSIDE TITANIUM )

The root method works.
You might need to try more than once, but it works.
Great work guys.
Once the Tab hits general release it might be worth re-posting the root method in it entirety in here, so that there we can keep Tab related root discussion in this forum rather than cluttering the Captivate one.
could you pm me the info?
working great here.... Thank you very much
I try with SuperOneClick v1.4, but non function.
The program say, after recognize the device that it's routed, but it's not true, is impossible to install busybox

I guess it's about a time to publish step-by-step instructions for android newbies like me.
Hi, I got today my Galaxy Tab and tried "One click root", but failed.
I found that when I connected to PC, my "USB debugging" is disabled.
Anyone has any idea? pls
HTC Hero,
Galaxy Tab

disconnect it from the PC and then enable the debugging mode and connect it to PC
Did it. I think that you have to install Samsung Kies first, to be able to recognize the Tab correctly for exploit to run.
For me this solved the situation.

Problem Installing xRecovery

I ended up with a LOVELY refurbished POS as a replacement for my origional X10a through AT&T (trust me, I'm THRILLED about a refurbished piece of crap, haven't had good luck with these things) And I've got it flashed over to 2.1 update 1 with the baseband of 2.1.54, Kernel Version 2.6.29, and xRecovery will not install. IT loads just fine, gets SU access, and then the three little hourglasses come up with the No Smoking sign LOL! So, what's the issue?? Is xRecovery not compatable with the baseband?
Any ideas...?
What version of Busybox are you running? What method did you use to root your phone?
I know that some root methods (like SuperOneClick) install Busybox during the root process and the version they install is not compatible with xRecovery. You have to use the version from the Market for xRecovery to install.
By the way, this has been discussed many times already before in the xRecovery thread.
Its The Most current Busybox installed through Titanium Backup - and I'm sure it has been discussed...Lack of finding the specific issue lead to this post
Its Rooted with the super one click, But I believe that the busybox from Titanium is the most current...

Try installing busybox from the busybox app from the market.

It says in the first post of the thread it HAS to be the version from the Market. It says nothing about it needing to be the most recent version.
A similar issue was brought up on one of the last pages in that thread (it even had a picture of the 'no smoking' signs, as you put it, on the three files) and it came down to the version of Busybox the person had installed.
Though as subhankar suggested, you could try the manual installation route and see how that works for you too.
Anyway, I hope you get this resolved.
View the xrecovery apk in root explorer then copy the 3 files in Res/raw to the system/bin on your phone. The auto install from the app has never worked for me.

[Q] root access failed on titanium app

i flashed desire rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
but now when i am installing titanium back up and open this app,it says root access failed, what should i do?
thanks
first, check superuser permissions and make sure you haven't denied root access by mistake. If Titanium backup has a green icon next to it then it's fine.
kill Titanium backup and Superuser processes, force stop will also work. And now start titanium backup again. This usually solves it for me.
thanks for the reply
i just moved back to MIUI that has so many shortcuts n all that

Titanium Backup "sorry i could not acquire root privileges"

I'm getting this message when trying to run Titanium Backup (latest version just downloaded from the Play store).
I've rooted my I9505 using Chainfire's CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505. I then also installed BusyBox. SuperSU Shows Titanium Backup on its list with a green # sign. I've run Terminal emulator and entering SU gives me the # prompt so it looks like I'm rooted.
Any ideas what to try next?
Something I also noticed - the first couple of times that I ran it I got "Unfortunately Titanium backup has stopped". I kept trying and it eventually started

If you mean the "upgrade SuperUser" option then yes. Although when I open the new SuperUser app it doesn't list TiBU on the apps
