Hey!
I were just wondering if it was possible to port the newly released Sense 2.2 for the Desire on to the Hero?
I'am not that much into ROM's ect., but would be nice if it would be possible, caus I really like the Sense UI and wouldn't live without it!
Thanks in advance!
-Jonas
Not really, as desire has different processor, so binaries are not compatible at all, and totally different res screen.
Wait for legend or slide to get it.
Okay. Let's hope they'll get it soon then

Sorry if I sound idiotic, but could someone explain what's different between Gingerbread and Froyo? Just trying to figure out what the benefits are of using Gingerbread compared to another build. Also, does Gingerbread have Sense? Thanks!

Neither FroYo or Gingerbread come with Sense - they have nothing to do with it. If you use a build from a device that has Sense, such as Desire HD, then you will get Sense. If you use something like a Nexus One build then you won't.
As for the differences between FroYo and Gingerbread, look here.
Thanks, man!

I've been switching back and forth between several ROM's and I've been using Iced Glacier 1.1.4 as my everyday ROM for about 2 weeks now. I really like it because I can use most all the features that came with the phone when I bought it.
I do like the Genius Button and use the car dock when I'm driving to give voice commands/read texts while driving. Can I use the Genius Button with any of the new Sense ROM's that are being developed (Evil D's)? And if yes, then how?
And maybe a side question... Is wifi calling working with any of Evil D's ROM's for the MT4G?
Really happy to see how much the development has come along since the phone launched.... Great work guys!
The genius button works with Gorilla's ROM, and I know the Wi-Fi Calling works with eVil D's Desire HD, Desire Z and G2 ROMs not sure about MIUI

Thanks I'll try his out. Is it like the HD Rom from Evil? Or is it like Iced Glacier?

it's similar to eVil D's Desire HD ROM, it has higher OC and some other tweaks and apps added, he also has a couple of themes you can flash over his
edit: only thing giving issues with genius button on Gorilla's ROM is when trying to use it to do a text it brings up the person but doesn't put the body of the text in the window.

That's quite cool and maybe useful to the devs working on the sensation port. Because its sense 2.1 but with the 3.0 lockscreen. What's the screen resolution on the chacha and the espresso?

Excellent. Think I'll work on porting it over to G2 tomorrow since it's my day off!

It's cool that it's working there, but any chance some one can port just the lockscreen so we can flash it on top of Virtuous? I need a rom that works 100%, thats a big reason on why I'm still using Virtuous.
Rooted HTC Vision/G2 running Virtuous v1.0.2
Old G1 that I don't use anymore...
well no one has ported it yet theyre all working hard on the sensation rom, some say its not even possible to port it to sense 2.1 roms however i think that since the took it from a sense 2.1 rom it has to be possible...im also dying to have it on a stable rom but all we can do at the moment is wait

It is very unlikely that the lockscreen will be ported to sense 2.1. the version of sense which the cha cha rom runs is a version of sense 2.1 with the same style lockscreen as 3.0 the sense 3.0 lockscreen wasn't ported to it. So there may be a chance that the cha cha locksreen could be ported but the resoloution is all wrong and would need to be scaled up. Given the challanges involved in changing the resoloution I dobut any one would want to give it a go.

thanks for the clarification Chris
Yeah, that does make things more clear. The senseation rom would be awesome to have it it worked 100%. And im sure that when it's at that point I will use it.
well for those who want to try out sense 3.0 heres another port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054412 its still not stable but its much more stable than the sensation port
It doesn't really look like the standard htc sense 3.0, but it did have the widgets.
Its tje expresso version of sense which is tmobiles sense or something like that, its ok it has the 3d animations and the cool lockscreen with the rings (except the 4 icons don't show up.... yet)

Well Im sure I just need to be patient, we need to be grateful of our developers and they will eventually figure something out.
Hi
I know there are various custom roms and RCMix Rom for DHD which give you sense 3.0. but I was wondering if I am able to flash a stock HTC Sensation ROM onto my DHD?
just like to keep the stop font and menus. Apologies if this has been raised before, I have searched before posting this and failed miserably..
thanks and appreciate your help
cheers
NO

It isn't possible.
If you for example compare the specs of Sensation and DHD, you will find out that the hardware in these two phones are quite different. That's why ROMs are usually ported to fit another device. There ain't a working Sensation ROM for the DHD yet.
of course not.
but you can try some ported sense 3.0 roms from

Thats like asking if you can run Apple Mac OS on your PC. Out of the box its certainly not possible but 1337 hax0rs have been able to find a way.
I tried the Virtuous Unity port and it seems nice but nothing so amazing I'd **** my pants over it. Sense 2.1 with Sense 3.0 additions seems like a better proposition at this stage to me at least.
you can try using rcmix roms... they have sense 3.0 ported .. it works perfectly too (i am using one) no bugs and very stable ..here is the link

+1, I've been using the ARHD 5.1.x roms with the Sense 3.0 all-in-one package and it's a great way to experience Sense 3.0. I've also heard the RCMix roms are pretty nice as well. I have recently switched to the Virtuous Unity 1.26.0 rom and I'm lovin' it! (Sorry Mike1986) The Unity rom is about as good as it's going to get until and if HTC decides to put out a Sense 3.0 rom for the DHD/Inspire.
