How do you set your Home screen Tmobile Tab - Galaxy Tab General

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas...if you celebrate the holiday =-)
I have a tmo Tab and change the number of home screens from 5 to 3, but on when I press the home button it goes to the 3rd screen (right screen).
How do I set it but to the 2nd (middle screen) ?
Thanks

I'm still a noob, but I think the Verizon version is the only one that lets you set your default screen. I currently have a AT&T tab and wanted to do the same thing. The workaround I found was to rearrange the screens and move the desired one to position 3. Hoping someone comes up with a better way but that's the only option I know if right now.

Another option is use of alternate launcher (Zeam, Launcher Pro, ADW), which will give you also a option to use scrollable widgets.

question bout htc customizer

i have recently downloaded the htc customizer and i love it..just one question..
i do not use the weather panel tab so i took it off in the customizer...but i was wondering if there was anyway to add a tab...i would love to have a tab to lock the screen...
i know there is a way to lock the phone from the app launch tab..but that requires two taps on the screen...if i could add a lock screen tab..then all i need is one tap to lock the screen...
is there anyway?
If this are not too much taps -ooh...so much sports in the morning - tap on Start - Setings - Today - HTC Home - Activate and move up the launcher as your first button and then you have only one tap to lock your device from the today screen. If you donĀ“t have the six-button-plugin, you must use slide2unlock.
on the htc home plugin there are 6 tabs...home..favorite contacts...weather..launcher..music player....and ringer..
i wanted to know if u could replace one of the tabs with a tab of my own...i would want a screen lock tab..

Three more sub-Homescreens on my Hero!!! YEP, count-um TEN Homescreens!

Do you want an additional 'THREE' customizable homescreens on your Hero? Well, there's an 'app' for that! HA!
First, I'm not sure if doing this has any bugs or inherent problems, and I am not responsible for any problems you may encounter doing this! BUT, I haven't experienced any so far myself.
Anyway, I stumbled onto this by using the Home Switcher app. When I saw how it launched the original Android Home app, that gave me an IDEA.
Using an application called 'Bar Control', I setup a Taskbar ICON to launch the native Android 'Home' application which, if you ask me, 'extends' the Hero with an additional three homescreens. I simply pull down the Taskbar and tap Home to launch the original Android Home app which gives me access to three more homescreens. AND, a simple tap of the Home button takes me back to HTC Sense.
So, I now have TEN (10) homescreens!!!!! These additional native Android homescreens are where I put some Android widgets (non HTC Sense widgets of course). And get this, the two Sprint widgets, NFL Mobile Live and Sprint TV, are available too! The Hero uses the same Wallpaper for both HTC Sense and Home, but it unlocks the native Android wallpaper gallery too.
Steps I did:
1. Downloaded Bar Control from the Market.
2. Launched Bar Control and waited for it to scan all the programs.
3. Scrolled down to the app called, 'Home' and selected it.
4. Selected an ICON of choice. (I used the same home ICON)
5. Pulled down my Notification Bar, tapped 'Home, and WALLA!
Simply hit the Home button to return to HTC Sense.
Note: To get rid of this Home ICON in the Notification Bar, simply perform the first three steps above again which will remove it.
OK, now can anyone tell me of a simple shortcut app that can be set to launch the native Android Home app without having to go through the Taskbar via the Bar Control app in my example above?
So, I believe this is the GREATEST HERO HACK so far!
When two unused screens just aren't enough lol, nice find.
Not really an hack if you ask me... why don't you install a few extra homescreen replacement apps (like openhome) so you'll even have more homescreens
this is not a hack at all. installing apps and using them as intended is as far away from a hack as could be. please change the title, this is so lame...
btw, i would love to have my homescreens scrolling "round", meaning if i swipe screen #7 (the most right one) to the left i want to go to screen #1 (the most left one). anybody know if this is possible?

I would like to know this as well, I sort of wonder why htc didn't design it like that.

It's "Voila" not "Walla"!

Sorry, couldn't resist - to me, it's like fingernails on a black board!

Dave
lol, the same happens when you install any theme app such as open home, dxtop, etc...
What happens is, the default for the home button is cleared of it's default (HTC Sense) giving you the option which home screen you want to fire up after holding down the home button.
You could probably just clear the default yourself in App settings, limiting the need for another app all together.
Downloading a home screen app equals hacking your phone?
give him a Break it was his first post.He was over zealous on his find..LOL
well atleast he let us know about his find.sum peeps probably wouldnt had even shared..thx DaWeav
Yup, just to elaborate on what N0J mentioned:
menu/settings/applications/manage applications/HTC Sense
tap "Clear defaults"
Now, every time you push your "Home" button you will be presented with the options "Home" and "HTC Sense." As long as you don't check the default box you will always have a two-touch access to either interface.
Alternatively, for those that prefer vanilla Android to Sense, check the default box and hit "Home." Your phone will no longer load the Sense UI. This can be reversed by going to Home in manage applications (above) and again clearing defaults.

Well said and thanks for the detailing the steps out for me!
Dang. I thought this was actually going to be some useful information that could lead me to getting rid of the 4 unused homescreens
This isn't a hack and not much of a discovery but if it makes you happy...
Would be kind of cool if Sense had 10 screens of its own.
nice find! But yes, 7 home screens is a little much. until we find some better widgets.

GDE Home Screen does this
edit: by the way this is a dumb "hack"
I'm assuming this works for vanilla android as well? One of the most annoying things about my Moment that my Hero does is only having 3 screens.
Does anyone know how to REMOVE any of the homescreens from sense?
My hero is so slow!
I really hope that as part of an update to Sense that they make it so you can have any number of screens so long as it's 2X+1. (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11)
Personally, I only really use 5, so I would just drop the last 2 screens and have the little indicator get a tiny bit larger.

Wallpaper problem

The problem is that my wallpaper wont scroll anymore, when i try to change my wallpaper, it comes to the cropping tool as always but it will only crop it vertical (so it fills one home screen) so when i roll to next home screen it has the exactly same picture
thats also not the wierdest thing of all, if i put one of the wallpapers that came with the phone (those wavy things with colors) they work just fine as they should, anyone got ideas how to fix this?
I have the same thing when using the Open Home screenreplacement. It works fine on the default homescreen though. Are you using an homescreen replacement?
im using pandahome, i dont know how to get back the default homescreen, not that i want to, also the wallpaper used to work just fine with pandahome then it went like this, it sucks that the default home has only 3 screens, also its not so rich as pandahome..
If you want to return to the default home, try Settings -> Applications -> Manage Apps, then find your current home app (pandahome) and tap Clear defaults.
You can clear default for other apps in the same manner.
I had the same problem. Did as above.
Go to settings->Application->Manage application
There i tapped "clear defaults" for in my case Panda Home.
When i taped the home button on the phone i choosed the regular "home" instead of "Panda home". Now i changed my background. After this i tapped the home button again and chose "Panda home" and as default. Now wallpaper works just fine again.
/J
I also had the exact same problem and was using panda home...the simple solution is just to hit the home button, choose default home then go back to whatever home launcher ur using
I switched to adw btw which is great

Sprint Galaxy Tab Main Home Screen Setting

So I just returned my Verizon Tab at Best Buy today, having it for about 11 days, I exchanged it for the Sprint Tab instead. I do like the white cover instead, fingerprints are less visable, and no more V Cast, V Apps crap anymore. Sprint one does seem snappier, reboot to ready to use was significantly faster in my eyes.
Anyways.
When I had the Verizon version, the main home screen was #4 out of 7 windows. Which I liked because it was in the middle. Now that I got my Sprint version, its 'main' home screen is #1 out of 5, 6, 7 windows. I'm trying to figure out how to make the 'main' home screen say something like #3 out of 5.. but can't figure it out, is there a way to re-arrange the 'main' home screen??
Not sure with the default one it ships with. I downloaded and installed LauncherPro and use it as my home screen. Found it to be more responsive and "snappy" compared to the stock home app.
I can't figure this one out either.
try this.. tap the menu button on the home screen and choose "edit"
When I did it on mine, I can create, delete and move pages in the home screen
That still doesn't move the 'main' screen. I have tmobile and I have been trying to change it as well (prepfer 3 screens instead of 5), but I cannot find any setting.
Can you pinch to zoom out from the home screen, the tap, hold, and move the screens?
You can do all of that, but it won't set the 'main' home screen, you know, when you hit the home button twice
There's a few tools on the Market which will let you change your TouchWiz homescreen, they were made for the Galaxy S phones, but they'll work on your device. Look for SGS Tools, or Galaxy S Tweaker, or something like that.
Most Galaxy S tweakers don't **** with it though, they just move on to a different launcher. I know I did. Only thing I use TouchWiz launcher for is to fire up the MTP (Kies) USB connection.
anyone find a factory solution?

[Help] Change Dock stile

Hi everyone,
I have read many Threads, but I cant find a reponse.
How I can change the look of my dock.
For some people that dont know or for me, if I use the wrong name, for dock i mean the home bar in the low screen.
Like in my image I have 3 icon (Browser - applicazioni - E-mail)
I want 4 or 5 icon. I have read that someone use LauncherPro but HOW!
I have try but I can only erase the 2 icon and the middle icon stay.
Maybe it's a problem of firmware I dont know, plz someone can give me a step by step for change it?
TNX for U help!
Ok step by step
1. pick up your tab
2. unlock your tab
3. navigate to the android market
4. search for either launcher pro or adw launcher (my self i use adwEX)
5. download whichever one you prefer
6. hit the home button
7. it will now ask which home screen you want to use samsung or launcher/adw
8. select the one you downloaded
9. you will now have a blank home screen
10. press the button left to the home button and go into the launcher settings
11. navigate around and look at all the different options and set it up as you like
12. if you are happy using the launcher hit the home button and set it as default
if not download the others and try, you can run them all at the same time then just uninstall the ones you dont like, i suggest adwEX
TNX for the reply
I have already Louncher Pro, before I wrote the post.
The reason that I post was because I cant make that change.
So that is clear that I have already Louncher pro .. when I tap on the Home icon nothing happened ... Long tap little tap... Nothing.
Now I try like you suggest adwEX maybe something change
I hope it work. TNX
If you already have launcher pro, go into the settings for it and find the dock settings, im not too familar where they would be as i use adw.
you dont use the home key to get into the settings, use the key to the left of the home key
I do it, TNX a lot!
Now I must change the apparence of my TAB
