tick-tock waiting for my refurb vibrant... what to do.. what to do...

So i bricked my vibrant (DO NOT INSTRUCT ME TO DO **** TO "UN-BRICK" IT, I'VE BEEN HERE FOR A WHILE AND I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOFT/HARD BRICKS" and Tmobile's sending me a new one...
shipping starts on monday bcz warehouses are closed on weekends...
SO from monday... 7 more days.. mmhmm. so NEXT Saturday (or friday) i will get my phone...
Until then what should i do to waste time?
(don't suggest wanking my 27 inch( ), i've done it already)

Where do you live? I'm in Texas, and the phone usually ship from San Antonio, so I have mine in about 2 or 3 days. Hopefully you'll have your's before next weekend too!

I was ODIN'ing back and i put the PIT file... (ithink) and accidentally clicked start before putting PDA file.
I have a laptop with a wireless mouse so it fell on floor and pressed ok on start and BAM brick.

I just had to do a warranty exchange on my vibrant (dead usb port). I went in Monday, had my phone friday but they never gave me a tracking number, it just showed up. I'm not sure when it was made, but my refurb was running 2.1, ji6. GPS was is really solid tho, a touch better than my old July vibrant.

Go ahead and get some ****load of movies (porn is advised but other types are also welcomed).

I have odin'd doing nothing but the .pit file. So that is definitely not what caused it.

I suggest wanking (again) lol theres nothing wrong with doing it twice.. 27in? Wow that's small.

It was either the PIT or PDA i'm not sure which, but thats the problem, there was no problem from my side besides pressing start with only 1 file there.

You can go to a T-Mobile store they'll give you a replacement hopefully its something fun you can play with.

So since I rooted this, I pissed my dad off...

I need to know a convincing argument to get him to not be pissed. I actually got my phone from him and it was under warranty, I was just sick of not being able to do everything I want to.
Can you guys help me out?

If or when it screws up, flash the official HTC RUU and then it's back to normal. They don't know if it's rooted or not, if they want to see it flash the RUU.

If he is worried about the warranty, you can always go back to the Spring software by running the RUU from the Sprint/HTC website and the phone will return to the Out-of-Box state... so no worries there.
On the other hand, install a custom ROM (aospCMod) and show him the difference on what all you can do with the phone... as compared to the Sprint software.

My dad doesnt even know what is a smartphone hahaha hes on his old nokia n95 lool.

Lmfao, my dad used to be big on flashing roms and ****. He flashed the old HTC 8525 (windows) to a rom almost every other week. xD

Your question has already been answered, just run the RUU to get it back to factory state and magically the warranty's back in effect. What exactly is he pissed about? It's kind of hard to help you devise some type of argument if we don't really know what he's saying since you can undo what's been done. Hmmm...maybe try telling him to stop being such a girl about things and grow a set(no offence to any hermaphrodites who've rooted their phones). If he/she doesn't, refer to my previous drunk post

Tell your Dad that when you master new technology, you are improving your skills and knowledge so that you will be able to secure a well paying job. Tell him that when you do secure that job, YOU will buy HIM a nice new phone!

So all I've been hearing lately is all about this A-TT merger with T-Mobile. I don't know why our dear mother wants to marry this asshole anyways! They are not right for each other! Ok I get it., our mom (TMobile) is depressed cause all her kids run amock, flashing anything and anybody and thinks we need a father figure in our lives to settle us down... but it's not gonna work!! I can see it now... dad comes home late with a little to much alcohol in his system, starts demanding more money for room and board, and we all know that he's just gonna use that money to take out the neighbors wife behind moms backs... He ends up sleeping with the girl next door(sprint) Getting her pregnant... then leaving our mom nothing in the divorce and blaming everything on her constant drug use due to her being unhappy... Can't you see what he's done to us? We used to be a happy family.. We didn't need him in our lives. But believe me my brother's and sisters... I know we'll make it if we stick together... not really, I can do what I need to do with my Evo without it being rooted. Of course rooting is a plus and I would love to have it, but I don't need it. The most important thing I used root for was wifi tethering anyways, and I have been able to bode well with the EasyTether app until I get root, although it doesn't support PPTP VPN for whatever reason...

The bloatware is just pissing me off! All the stupid apps that run in the background that you can't kill. HTC and Sprint are gay for locking the phone down.

I really hate that you created a thread to make this largely nonsensical and inane comment, but I'll bite and ask what you think that you're missing out on without the ability to root? It is still a fully-functional smartphone, albeit with a little bloatware and Sense. You can still surf the web, check email, install apps, etc.
Think of your phone as vanilla ice cream. Good, dependable, and you know what you're getting every time. Rooting offers different, sometimes exotic flavors. Some are good, some aren't so good; some are dependable and offer enhanced or at least similar experiences, whereas some just leave a bad taste in your mouth. In the end, though, it's all ice cream. So eat it.

do you even know how much it costs to replace a window? consider the fact that you would likely be without a phone due to the impact of the phone going through the glass and making contact with hard surface again resulting in you having to spend even more money on another replacement. even worse is if the phone actually landed into your neighbors fenced yard. not only would you have lost a window, but your neighbor would have your phone in refurb-condition because it landed in his soft, lush, well-taken-care-of lawn.

Unrooted the evo pisses all over any blackberry and I had them all, up until last year my job made us have them (on there dime). So I wish this phone was rootable but it could be alot worse...
