[Q] Advice about rom upgrade - HD2 General

I have an unlocked TMOUS HD2 (using unlock code) and i'm using stock rom 2.10 and i want to upgrade to the latest stock rom from the t-mobile site, will the phone be locked again??
Will the radio be upgraded too?
Thanx

You should be good to go after updating, should still be unlocked, and it will update your radio to 2.15

Not a problem u can use any rom bcause the unlock it's for the sim not the rom i already change my rom with the newest stock one from tmousa and nothing happen

most cooked roms dont flash over the radio, but if youre really worried go into settings and write down youre current radio version so if you do flash another radio you can just download youre current one and reflash it.

flashing wont lock your phone, whether rom or radio, it wont re lock your phone.
when i got my phone it was sim-locked. and i flashed a cooked rom and want to go back to the official HTC T-mob Uk rom . i head in other thread that it will lock my phone again .
the rom i want to flash and afraid to lock my phone is ROM Upgrade for HTC HD2 (T-Mobile) United Kingdom:1.72.110.4 .
is ok to that without any problems or locking my phone again

HTC Hero Orange UK - Unlocking

Hello,
I had my orange uk untouched up to last week.
I decided to install FroydVillain 1.1.1
Everything is fine however but i decided to unlock the phone.
I got a code proper unlock code bought on ebay.
I put o2 sim card and I was asked for unlock code. I put new the code which I got and I get message Network unlock successful however o2 card doesnt register to o2 network. I cannot even manually select the network.
I know that there was a problem with orange roms and unlocking however I heard that if I install custom rom it should be fine.
Does any one know if FroydVillain 1.1.1 has got same bug for unclocking like the original orange rom.
Please advise how can I unlock the phone with froyo
thanx Martin
Is the O2 sim a freebie you got through the post?!.... If it is old, it may have expired. I think they have to be topped up within 6 months or something.
If you got "Network unlock successful" it should be fine,... try another sim.

It may well have the same bug as some orange roms, the only way I know of to be certain of a successfull unlock is to flash orange rom 2.73.61.66 dated 2010/02/04 from the htc uk site.
You could then re-root after unlocking.
Failing that, try flashing villainrom 12 temporarily, as I've not tried unlocking on FroydVillain yet.
I tried v12 and it worked
Now i'm back to froyod

Unlock SIM Wildfire - still work after 2.2 FROYO ?!?

Hey.
Tommorow I am going to unlock my Wildfire .
My question : If I'm going to unlock it (not using my IMEI / not on the net) at a GSM-SHOP is it possible for me to upgrade it after this to Android 2.2 FROYO and still use it with other SIM ? Or will it be locked again in Vodafone ?
PLEASE help me ! ThanQ
If you use a GoldCard and flash a RRU unbranded i think this might just do the job for you not sure but mine was a RRU shipped rom and its unlocked.

[Q] Unlocked phone + HTC rom update = locked phone?

OK, I bought a HD2 of ebay, locked to T-Mobile, I live in Gibraltar where we only have one network provider (Gibtel) so T-Mobile is no good to me. Took phone to some dodgy Spanish shop and after some dodgy Spanish speak (by me) got the phone unlocked so can use my Gibtel Sim.
Problems up to now:
Radio now doesnt work +
Nor does bluetooth.
I'm such a divvie I cant even reset the phone whilst holding down the volume button to see what SPL, if any, is on the phone.
Anyhow, question is, to try and get bluetooth and radio back, if i update the rom through official HTC website, using T-Mobiles rom (the only one it will let me download) will this lock the phone back onto T-Mobile?

NO it will not lock thier phone back to T-Mobile. Once it is sim unlocked it will always be sim unlocked no matter what ROM you flash to it.
Also at the OP it is a reason why the HTC site will omly let you download the T-Mobile ROM for your HD2. The TMOUS can not flash any other official ROM but the T-Mobile ROMs as the other ROMs may not have the right radipo versions. The TMOUS can not be flashed with any radio versions 2.04,50,xx, 2.-05.50.xx, or any x.xx.51.xx radio version as they will brick a TMOUS. Go here to learn everything you need to know and be aware of when flashing a TMOUS HD2 with a Windows Mobile ROM. Also if you get any ROMs for the TMOUS from "[ROM]Leo 1.5 T-MOBILE Test & Stock ROMS" .
Do not use the 2.01 ROM as it has a 2.05.50.11 radio and will kill your HD2.
No, it will not lock the phone. Any firmware updates do not deal with lock function.
But it is better to use custom firmware (I use BOYPPC version) and you can update your phone to the latest radio version independently from main firmware.
You are all fantastic and I want your babies. Did official update and now everything works and phone still unlocked
