Flashing red led light but no notification - G2 and Desire Z General

Hey guys, I just got my g2 2 days ago and I have a question about a blinking red notification light even though I have no notifications; what is going on? Does anyone know? I have no emails, texts, or anything that would cause the light to blink. Could it be a battery issue? Thanks in advance
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

The only reason the light should blink is the battery. Its doesn't blink when you have notifications unless you have the root app.

Blinking red? You sure its not amber?
HTC Vision S-OFF CM6.1 Stable Oc'd to 1.5ghz on Pershoots Kernel

On my Desire Z it blinks in red when the battery is very low (under 10% I think).

Missed Call LED flash while charging

When I'm charging my phone and I miss a call/text, the indicator doesn't flash, it stays steady orange. I had that feature on my Cliq and miss it on my shift. Is there anyway to change it or am I missing something? Using preludedrew's rom, if that helps...
Maybe that's an HTC thing its been like that on the g1 EVO and shift and Hd2 them is the only HTC phones I have had and they all done that its like htc wants a big annoying Orange light there lol I know when my phones is charging I'm the one who plugged it in

Because you can't take your eyes off your phone, so a LED is useless
noled looks very nice
great to see NoLED working on the SII
I wonder how the new SAMOLED+ screen adjusts for battery savings with my app. I've seen through the videos that there are some screen brightness/color customizations that dynamically adjust to the image displayed on the screen.
I can't wait til I get my hands on this device.

It does look nice, until you notice that it drains your battery and keeps the phone warm to the touch since the screen is on the whole time when a notification is on the screen.
but since it has an samoled screen, i dont think that the whole screen is on, or not?
i thought a main advantage of BLACK on samoled screens is that the black pixels are OFF and only others need to be maintained with power?
Just use it and you'll see.

Yea it is said it works like this. But I can't imagine the black pixels consuming 0% power. Can't wait for my Sgs2 in two weeks!

if you also know what you're doing and configure the app right. you could make it consume absolutely no more power than without.

Isn't there a LED indicator on the front of the GSII? Look at 0:15 of the below video where it blinks while phone is booting up:

the black pixels don't use power, but the display controller still has to be powered on and that uses battery too

I'm using NoLED, and it works great. Not much battery usage either.
I'm not sure the phone has a LED light for charging?

It does not.
On my mytouch 4g, the notification LED is also used for the charging indicator.
I like Noled's 100% charge notification.

LED notification for charging

Coming from HTC Evo 3D, i've grown to love the LED notification showing red whenever the phone is being charge, and so far the only disappointment with my Nexus device is, that there's no idication from the LED wether the phone is being charged or if it's fully charged. I am simply wondering if it's possible to add that feature with a little application? If someone has done it before, could they please assist me.

Light Flow is great... however is there any way to enable the LED while the phone is OFF and charging? Is that a purely hardware thing or does the kernel or bootloader come into play

Notification LED on Moto X Force?

I know this is not the correct forum, but there's no one for X Force...
Does this phone has an rgb notification LED and could it be controlled with root?
Thanks!

It can be controlled with root, but cannot be used for notifications. If we get a custom kernel, then maybe... for now its just used to indicate when the battery is charging but not charged enough to turn the phone on.

I just did and still nothing. Are we talking about XForce or DT2? Does the battery have to be at certain level? Mine was at 98%.

you need to have the battery at 0%.
If you are rooted there are some commands you can run to light it up. google moto x notification led and you should find it

Its not a notification light. It's charging indicator light. Your battery level must be near 0% if you wanna see it. Or you can use an app from post above yours if you wanna enable it as charging Iight whenever you charge your phone.

Try do discharge your battery to 0%, let it shutdown by itself and then plug the charger. See if that works.

It uses front flash light for notifications. Not very useful for me, but you may like it.

Thanks, I have tried, the idea is cool, but the Moto X Force flash is to strong, and this app use only back flash not the front flash.
But thanks anyway ^^

FlashAlert 2 does use front flash. You can choose which flash to use in settings. But its only for incoming calls and sms. And you're right ,it's way too strong.

Unfortunately this "hidden" LED light is in fact only used by the stock OS to show you that the battery needs to be charged when the phone doesn't have enough power to light the screen.
If you ask me a pretty dumb way of using this beautiful LED light... I hope someone writes a custom rom for the dt2 and moto x force that allowed this once we are able to achieve root and bl unlock.. Good luck guys
Hi, any news on this?
