Hello,
today i have upgraded my stock 2.1 to 2.2 officialy using KIES. No registry hack needed. Fw might be only for Baltic region only (?) I've been patiently waiting for official Froyo for Lithuania, never done rooting for my i9000.
FW version: I9000XWJPF
Baseband: I9000XXJPP
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
I haven't seen this FW on http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
Is there anybody who's also got update?
This update is in Poland and Hungary too.. and maybe for Slovakia and Czech soon..
Build date? Is it newer than JPY?
Looks like it's 2.2, not 2.2.1.

Its 2.2 not 2.2.1 its build on JPA ROM. Nothing special in it.
Wait for 2.2.1 and update your phone.
Can I root my phone using this FW?
Yes, you can. Look for custom kernels or Cf root option for JPM firmware. Rooted this way, worked fine.

Motorola Software Updater, but you have to revert back to 2.51 in order to do the update this way.
i assume, this update is also for hungary?
@adi4motion: make sure you have a fixed 2.2, otherwise you can't downgrade to 2.1 (you will brick the phone!), and you have to flash the sbf via rsdlite!

If the software region on your phone is CEE, this is for you, and you can use Motorola Software Updater as well to flash the new ROM.

Hi,
i Currently have Andriod 2.3.3 on My Phone with CF-Root on with Also Installed ClockWorkMod.
I Plan on Rolling back to 2.2.1 to test something
If I Spoofed the Device using spoofw and Choosed a Different device Code and re-flashed with Kies.
Would This Work without any issues?

If you want official Froyo 2.2.1 for UK then flash XXJPY.
Flash with no pit and no re-partition after disabling any lagfix if enabled...and you will be fine.

Remember to use a firmware with a boot image prior gingerbread. I don't know exactly which one to use though. Maybe someone else can answer.

Hello XDA Forumer,
If you are a little crazy like me who is having fun playing around with your Samsung Galaxy Ace, then you've thought of going back to froyo as well after applying 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) or any ROM.
Here's the tutorial: http://s.chinoyray.com/groups/samsu...lashing-back-to-froyo-2-2-1-from-gingerbread/
Yeaahh me too just flash back to froyo.. Wanna feel to get official gingerbread release maybe this upcoming month..

A bricked phone means even if you press POWER+HOME button or POWER+HOME+VOLUME DOWN and nothing happened even if your phone is fully charged, then that is bricked. If it's bricked, you cannot do anything to your phone now. Say bye bye to it.
BUT
If you press POWER+HOME or POWER+HOME+VOLUME DOWN buttons and your phone went to recovery or download mode, then it is not bricked and you can just reflash any firmware you want to restore. Upgrade, downgrade, it's all up to you.

No need to flash back to froyo. In theory, you can move to a Custom ROM based on the dev's requirement. (XXKPH for Gingerreal as an example)

Hello,
I'm from Malaysia. I've successfully downgraded my phone from gingerbread KPH to froyo DXKC1. When I connect my phone to KIES, it says that this firmware cannot be upgraded. May I know what am I missing here? I was hoping to check for official firmware upgrade thru KIES.

SEA ginger isn't listed on KIES, yet. but you can call your local SSC and ask them about ginger upgrade. most of them already have new SEA ginger (well atleast in indonesia).
try re-flasing (please make sure that you use full package / complete file.
i've tried once, from KPH (blackhawk rom), to DXKC1, succeed, kies can detect my phone normally and chek for update.
i got a case of bad luck though. earlier today. bricked my ace from going from fla.shX2.2 to DXKC1 (the same file i use previously)

You must install csc for your country. *#272*imei#
Then select your csc and click install. Of course this only works is you flashed a multi csc with your country in it.
