Hi.
I've always been able to sync my Cruise 2 with my Win Vista and Win 7 OS, but all of a sudden it stopped.
I've tried everything. Hard reset the Cruise, reinstall Vista and Win 7, but nothing happened. Still can't sync.
Although the weird thing is that I'm able to connect to the Disk Drive and to the Internet Sharing modes.
How can this be possible?
Does anyone had this problem?
I read on another thread that maybe a new ROM could solve the problem since I'm still using the original one that came with the Cruise (1.09.401.3), but two things, I never had any problem with this ROM so upgrade it was never on the table, and even if I decided to upgrade to see if I could solve this problem, how could I install it since I can't sync?
Regards.

I saw a thread on this subject last week but can't for the life of me find it anywhere now.
5 days ago I upgraded my computer to Vista Home Premium via an upgrade rather than clean install but first I flashed the Black Satin ROM to my Vario II.
Upon downloading WMDC 6.1 for the first time, my Vario synced and all appeared rosey; a computer running Vista and a lovely new WM6 device.
For some reason though, it now won't sync at all. The device knows it is plugged into a host (the charge light comes on and activesync keeps trying to connect) but the host doesn't register it. IT worked literally the day before and now nothing.
My work PC (running Vista business) has has no issues with the upgrade. WMDC just recognised it as a new device and I deleted the old partnership.
Any ideas? I've just uninstalled, redownloaded and reinstall WMDC but no change; computer still doesn't recognise the device.
Help!
It would appear that disabling advanced network functionality has now allowed my PC to see the WM Device.
Any suggestions as to why this is only an issue on my home PC?
Have you've tried the WIKI?
Try this link. There are problems with Vista, follow this instructions and it should work. Follow it!
hi guys, i'm running vista ultimate 32bit and everything's been cool with the wing, syncing with outlook 2007 and everything, but 3 days ago it stopped working, meaning windows mobile device center JUST WONT OPEN! no matter what i do, i hard reset the wing already, i reinstalled wmdc, i had to restore from a backup image of my laptop and then it worked, but after two restarts it stopped working again
whenever i plug in my wing, device manager shows that it detects a usb mobile device but wmdc wont start, i click it from control panel, nothing happens...
Im in the same boat. I replied to your thread at WM forum but havent found a solution
i gave up, i formatted my computer and reinstalled vista, took 5 hours to reinstall everything... but the problem is gone. now it's syncing and working fine with wmdc, stupid unreliable microsoft crapware, for some reason wmdc wasnt launching and i searched all over the internet and couldnt find a solution
Hi All,
failry new memeber when it comes to posting but have been using you guys as an essential source of bugfixing, problem solving and general HTC MDA advice since my TYTN.
I have spent sometime searching but not been able to find anyone with an issue similar to mine.
So heres the thing, recently exchanged my TYTN for a TouchHD and overall extremely impressed with both the handset and dev work done on here already.
I am running Dutty's 1.7 rom coupled with Radio ROM 1.09.25.35 all has been working and syncing wonderfully, however today when i try to sync up to my laptop to upgrade the radio to 1.10.25.25 i cannot get the darn thing to connect to activesync at all.
I am running XP SP3 and activesync 4.5 (again successfully until today)
I am using a non HTC USB lead which i know is generally a no no, however i sync'd up my kaiser with this lead for over a year and have been successfuly syncing my HD until today. I have tried an alterante USB lead just in case, again one with which i had no issue on the Kaiser.
I have tried to sync with the firewall on and off, also with my AntiVirus on and off
I have tried disabling Start_settings_USB-PC "enable faster data sync" to no avail.
I have tried the cusomary uninstall and reinstall of a fresh MS downloaded Activesync again no joy.
When I connect my HD to the pc and select connection type "Disk Drive" it recognises it instantly and allows me to browse the microSD card
When i connect with connection type "ActiveSync" it opens activesync, and displays connecting for smoe time and then decides it can't connect and offers me a diagnostic scan.
I have run the scan and saved the log file for information.
so basically the laptop can see my HD, activesync recognises a device has been connected via USB but refuses to finalise the connection. Oh obviously i have tried the "connect all using the connection" setting in activesyn on the HD as well. Figure the more i can tell you about what i have and havent done now the more time it saves you guys.
Its almost as if a process or service has been stopped or deleted on the device but i am buggered if i can figure if or what that maybe.
Any help appreciated guys. Obviosuly i will as a matter of course re-attempt all the above with the official HTC USB cable when i get home, but honestly dont see this being the issue considering the history of effectiveness of these cables.
I look forward to a flurry of interesting responses for me to try. Big thanks to all those who have made my WM PDA experience spot on to date.
Dboy
Update as promised.
Have got home and tried to connect using the HTC cable but still no joy.....
What could possible have gone wrong ?
No one any ideas ??
Hello,
I got a very similar issue, after some investigation I found out that it was my calendar causing this strange connection behavior.
Please do the following test,
1. delete your phone in active sync
2. reconnect your phone with the PC using the USB cable
3. When it asks for the synchronizing options (by default contacts, calendar,E-mail, favorites & M office one Note are ticked), REMOVE the tick of the calendar.
4. After finishing the setup wizard the synchronizing process will run as expected
So in my case I'm having trouble with the calendar, why ? I don't know but maybe someone else might have an explanation.
Good Luck
I encountered similar problems with ActiveSync previously but it was solved not via a soft/hard reset of my HD, but after I reboot my PC. Hope this can help you.
Note: I rarely shutdown or restart my laptop. I simply leave it to hibernate.
Reset HD Touch to get syn again.
One day could sync next day could not.
In the end did soft reset of phone all OK now.
Think the problem is I took a photo and it took ages to save it?
Thinking of put small hole in case so I can do a soft reset without the pain of unclipping cover. Any thoughts.
Hi,
I have researched in the forum in order to find some issue similar than mine but unfortunally I couldn't .
I bought my Blackstone at the end of December and since that, everything worked fine: I used to sincronize data with activesync at home (Windows Vista) and in the office (Windows XP), connected the device to the internet, downloaded e-mails (using outlook or Seven Mail), used GPS (Destinator and Igo8). Everything was fine until the day I decided to perform a hard reset. Then the nighmare comes! After the hard reset I started the sincronization with activesync. Everything sincronized very well. However, when I configured my e-mail accounts the tmail.exe hanged. Also the activesync stopped sincronizing. It stays all the time with the message: "looking for changes"...but never starts sincronizing. Then, I tried to perform another hard reset. The same thing happened: the first sincro is fine (in Windows XP or Windows Vista). But then, if I configure e-mail accounts or if I reinstall GPS programs, the activesync hangs again. I can only sincro with activesync if I don't use any other connection application. If I´m using GPS application and GPRS starts, immediately GPS hangs. Is that possible? I performed probably 10-12 hard resets, reinstalled activesync 3-4 times, but the problem keeps unsolved. Anyone have a clue for this issue?

Hi olivas1971 and welcome to the forum.
Your problem does sound strange & unusual. It sound as if you might need to flash another radio or ROM or both. But for that you will need to use hardspl on your device first (preferably from XP as it has less problems).
Use the search function and readup WELL before you start. Good luck with it.
Hi Abram,
I have flashed my device with new ROM and radio as you suggested. My device seems to be fine again. I´ll be monitoring it during this week. However, I want to thank you in advance, because I´m sure you find the solution.
brgds.
Hi there,
I've got a problem with Active Sync.
I'm using Dutty's Holy grail rom (wich is great!) , with HSPL and radio 2.07.
All works fine (except the data connection loss most of us experience, so I've read), but it's the second time now that Active Sync can't seem to find my phone. It's says Acitve Sync is unable to connect with the Windows Mobile device.
First time I had to hard reset my phone and it worked again. I'm hoping there is an other way to get my phone connected again with active sync, without a hard reset of my phone, since I've done lots of reg changes and installed lots of programs...
I've re-installed Active Sync, but that wasn't a solution.
Can someone help me please?
Thanx!

Next time please just post in myt hread. Regarding activesync which windows are u running on ur PC. I saw this once on the holy grail series but I'm using WINDOWS 7 just installed, I could just traced it down with wifi enabled when connecting through activesync and when I turn off wifi it works. So im still not sure it its a rom bug or a windows 7 bug or something else

He Duttythroy,
thanx for your quick responce! Sorry I posted a new thread, but I was afraid if I posted my problem in your thread not many people would read it and I wouldn't get any responce... I'm really hoping the problem can be solved without performing a hard reset...
I'm still using windows XP SP3. I haven't had any problems with my Tytn II and active sync. It started with the HD2, unfortunatelly with your rom. Perhaps any other rom would give me the same problem, but I haven't tried that because I like your rom's.
I'm also using the latest version of Act. Sync, 4.5 if I'm not wrong.
I don't have WIFI on my pc, so I can't check if it will work that way, I'm also lacking blue tooth.

+1
.
I am using german stock rom 1.48 and had this problem twice. I had to hard reset ervery time.
Sometimes, when I connect with the PC the HD2 freezes and I have to soft reset.
I'm also on XP SP3 and get similar problems but most of the time it's just that the sync is super slow... seems that phone is busy doing something... seems to occassionally do that after a while and really slows down... going to try going to the latest HTC ROM...
haven't had any problems with several roms (also Dutty's HG) and windows 7
Did you disable the "Enable faster Data synchronization"?????
