Ive underclocked my mytouch slide to 245 mhz jus to try it out and it still runs pretty decent. Do remember the shadow can be overclocked to 264 mhz. The only problem I see is the shadow not having a touch screen, there is no such thing as a non-touch qvga android phone out (not that i know of)

is this possible?

If you load all the pages once then it goes so fast. I tried only when loading first time each tab is slow then exactly like the video. so the title of the video is fake it's not 500 Mhz its normal 200Mhz

Wich Rom do you think he is using!
Or is it a home/cube plugin?
As far as i am concerned overclocking is possible(some Romshave integrated overclocking to 247mhz,when needed)!
But 500mhz..... I don't think so.
http://spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/?en
its fake
Hi, its not necesary to upgrade your rom to have that cube and interface, the software you see on that video is spb mobile shell 2.0, it works great and fast.
Otherwise, if you want to overclock, there is a software that enables you to do it, from the original 201 mhz until 312 mhz, but its unstable for speeds bigger than 260 mhz, i have it in my own working always at 247 mhz, and no problem.
take a look in here:
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=657
Thank you very much guys!!!
BTW....
I'm having some problems with the combination of ruber skin case and 247mhz....
(very high temperatures here in Greece)
One of these has to go...
(for now,is the rubber skin that is missing, and we'll see)
There can be only ONE!!!
LOL
Is there anyway to overclock this phone past the 528 MHz clock speed it currently has? None of the overclocking widgets or apps do it. I know it is possible tho, because when I had my HTC Touch Pro, it had the same processor and it was very easy to clock it to 624 MHz. Made it a very nice experience. Anyone has a take on this?
**Edit** Meant 528 in the title not 52

Yeah. 52 would be blazing fast
Seriously though, I believe the processor can only go 528Mhz. The Dream has the same processor but that was underclocked to 384Mhz or something like that. Honestly, even if you could clock it higher than 528, you probably wouldnt notice much speed increase on the Hero. On the Dream, yes, because of the memory situation but with the Hero, not so much.
I remember a while ago, I downloaded an app from somewhere, called "Nuetools NueOverclockTest" Actually, it WAS designed for the HD Blackstone...moving on
The app did NOT work on the HD, as it crashed. However, it works on the HD2 (I presume)
My question is : Does it ACTUALLY LOWER THE CLOCK SPEED?
The HD2 is clocked at 1024 mhz, this program "overclocks" the HD to 768 mh from 528 mhz.....now, if this lowers the HD2 clock speed to 768 mhz...that could save a bit more battery life! Could someone perhaps check into this and see if the clock speed changes? Thanks a lot

simple benchmark for yourself
download TCPMP or Coreplayer
get a video file
run tcpmp benchmark on it with and without clock change
Hmmm tbh not much difference Just a little teeny weeny bit slower...
Thanks for the idea bro I've posted 2 screenshots, before and after! And ofc the program xD
Perhaps I need someone more skilled to try this out for me...I AM a noob after all xD
clcok speed
from what i've read elsewhere in the forums our processor isn't always operating at 1ghz, when the system isnt being taxed the prossessor idles at a lower speed, then when called on kicks in to full speed. therefore saving battery life already, but i don't claim to be an expert, just regurgitating what i read elsewhere!

Read this topic:
How to include 1GHz-Hack in stock-ROM - xda-developers
There is an utility showing CPU clock on the last pages.
Nue Overclock test was designed for the CDMA Touch Pro 1 to overclock to 800Mhz. It wouldn't work to underclock a different device. The processors are too different. TP1's Processor is an MSM 7XXX series and the HD2's Snapdragon is an MSM 8XXX series.

I want to find out the average people overclock their blackstone/touch hd with startup on android
my htc blackstone with android cannot go far than 650000
right now i am testing 633600< works fine now (trying to get over 650000)
so if u could
could u post the lyour overclock values (600000-720000)
and what build your are using e.g froyo or eclair and ifs it neopeek xdandroid or others
thanks

going back to last stable overclock (633600)
try use setcpu..my device got running to 691 mhz!!!
sorry for my bad englisj.
well it depends on each device.it is overclocking so not every device is the same.there are batch that can go higher more than 600Mhz.I found mine is max out at 633Mhz.Overclocking is the same like in computers where chips, batch no,revision no and etc play the role to get decent score.

lucky you
max out for me is somewhere at 740-750mhz, right now I run Android on 710mhz for no crashes (FRG83 R6). On the 1.6 build by Kenia I could go up to 748mhz without crashes

sorry, but i can't completely agree with you...for my blackstone, the max frequency depends on the modules and zimage that I mount, with the first Kernel modded by Camro, i was able to reach up to 710 MHz without any problems....Now my limit (with new kernels released by F22) is 633...so I'm waiting for new kernel hoping in best performances...
wow with 1.6
hmmm
might try that today
how to overclock blackstone when I am on android ? I installed setcpu and it says min 128, max 528 so I cant reach 600mhz and more ??
download kernel 1287. Radio 1.17... GingerCherry. And on my BlackStone i hit 710,4 (716800) with no problem

Modify the STARTUP.TXT
I use Froyos and test Gingers
Always at 716800 frequency
I've tried 729Mhz, but it gets unstable. I also use 710 in WinMo.

Hi,
I see that my cmd line does not contain "acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=650000 clock-7x00.a11=500" , so when I change speed (for example from 650000 to 716800), do I have to change only frequency or is there something to change with the "clock" parameter too ?
You only have to change the frequenzy.
I have set the speed to 716800 Hz and it works fine.
when I set to 716800 I got stucked linux boot (boot line comes to end then phone freezes..)
Maybe it's different from device to device or the problem is based on the kernel or radio version.
The problem of this is your rom..
Energy rom is very hard to overclock..
I've used energy rom for quite a while.. and didn't manage to overclock my blackstone to 650...
With a different rom I was able to oc my blackstone to 710.4 without problems...
I was very used to energy rom and had a lot of contacts and other stuff in that rom..
so my advice is make a back-up with pim back-up.. install different rom.. and try oc-ing ...

I have energy rom, where can you set OC speed for winMo?
hi guyz, i have a little question for you
does someone have an hd2 with android witch is overclocked to over 1ghz? 1.5ghz too? and, is it a warried operation or cpu has a low overhead in that situation?
3rd and last question, if i put my hd2 in 1.5ghz mode, and force a bench test, may i broke my hd2 with going upper than cpu Tjunction or there's a system protection witch shuts down all the hardware else the cpu is too close to Tjunction? (like normally pc cpu)
i don't know if snapdragon has system protection, so, i don't want to try to fuse my hd2 (it's my main phone)
and, for users who whant to know, yep, i'm using wp7 because it's smoother than android, but, if i try to use android with that overlock, may it can be smooth like wp7, maybe
and, please, don't say that android is smooth, because it has some micro freeze in the continuity of the animation, and i hate that
thank you for your answers

You can set your clock to max, but make a profile to downclock your cpu speed to ~500 MHZ when it heats up.

oh, you could make a profile with downlcloking when cpu goes to a specific temperature?
nice, what's the tjunction of snapdragon? is 50°C too hight?
not sure, to be honest, I don't overclock my device. too scared to do so :/
but when I did overclock it I set the temperature to 41-42 Celsius.
you can tell that I got a lot of high temp warnings, safe is better than sorry.

no, not using it, uninstalled it, because it makes my phone randomly reboot + it can brick your phone (little chance for that) but me no like overheating

You need a kernel that allows overclocking

different builds use different kernels, and each support different max CPU speeds. If the kernel supports overclocking, the developer usually mentions than in the first post. Note that Some kernels/builds do not support any kind of overclocking, so the max CPU speed would be ~988 MHz
