[Q] SIP Block on Tmo - Galaxy Tab General

Has anyone figured out a way to bypass TMo USA's block on SIP? (IAX, VPN, etc). Was looking for a method that didn't involve renting a vpn connection or setting up my own PBX on an alternative port.

Not sure where you got your information that it's blocked. I have it running just fine on my tmo tab. Works on wifi and 3g. I followed the instructions from the following thread. Has Sprint (CDMA) Tab in the title, but it will also work on our tmo tabs.

VOIP Calls on T-MOBILE (UK) 3g network using HD2

I have found problems while making VOIP calls using SIP (soft phone) software on t-mobile, UK 3g network.
I got various sip client installed my HTC HD2. They all are working very well on wifi connection. But not working at all on t-mobile UK 3g network. I get registration failed error.
I found following link (https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/terms-and-conditions/combi/) in which they have mentioned that
<b>
"you can't use your phone as a modem or use internet Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *[Internet] Plus comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month."</b>
So I am wondering whether T-mobile is blocking my access to connect to my VOIP provider. Although, I can use skype mobile on t-mobile 3g network to make skype to skype calls.
Guys,
Is there anyone who is able to make VOIP call using t-mobile, uk 3g network or any of the other UK provider? If yes, then please help me to figure out what’s wrong in my settings.
Thanks.
As many people have found on T-Mobile for various data connection problems, , try this
settings/menu/connections/manage existing connections/proxy settings tab/remove the tick in the "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" box.

Already tried this, but no success. So wondering is it possible in UK to make VOIP calls using any 3g network.
Guys Please post your VOIP call experience on UK 3g providers.
You could try getting VPN to work?
It is true that indeed some providers do block certain ports/protocols to enforce their terms of use.
Vodafone NL started with this too some time ago..

I don't use it much but I've had no problems using Skype on 3UK.
I'm with T-Mobile UK and can use Skype without problem on HD2
Vodafone NL blocked some ports

Hi there,
I have also noticed that Vodafone NL has blocked some ports such as for Rapidshare and Megaupload !
Is there a work around for this?
Thanks

hi
I have tried many times with Softphone 3.0 and it does not work. My mate has swapped the sim card into his iphone and with o2 it registered without problems. it seems tmobile is blocking port 5060 for sip connecitions.
Fring somehow works but Softphone is much better, under Wi-Fi it quickly connecter my friend calling me to my Voip-in number (voipcheap). fring can fail with this.
let me know if you have found some clues how to make it work.
thanks
Hi
I am also facing the same problem. I can make jumblo calls( voip provider) if my wifi is connected.
But it does not work with my t-mobile uk 3g connection.
Please advice.
cheers

NEW Settings for Cricket Android Plan??

as you all know we all had to put in our own custom settings and iptables into our android phones to get cricket working on our phones allowing us to access the marcket, internet, and apps.
it involves using autostart, u2nl, and replacing the APN's.
now all of that is to route all traffic trough the cricket proxy which only allows access to the internet trough port 8080.
but NOW as you all may know cricket offers an android phone plan which gives you unlocked 3G speed (yes my speed went up a little bit once i got the plan, to about 70KB/s) but i think it's not fully unlocked because i have all these things being routed trough their old proxy servers...
so does anyone know the new settings to configure your android phone with the cricket android plan?
supposedly on the plan description it says everything works, apps, market, everything!

[Q] 3G DNS Problems (censorship? unlocked Rogers model on Telus)

Hi, all.
I bought a Samsung Focus off a friend a few months ago.It was Rogers locked. The first thing I did was unlock it and update it to Mango.
I then popped in my Telus SIM and started using it with my voice and data plan. I have just noticed a single issue; some Microsoft services can't connect to their corresponding Microsoft servers. This includes Bing dictation and some Xbox services. They all worked when my friend had the phone.
I think that there is a DNS issue with Telus, as all these services work fine from my home WiFi. I was wondering, is there a way I can change my DNS settings to further test this?
Thanks!
Taylor

G900T on AT&T tethering question

Hey everyone, I have an unlocked G900T coming in the mail, and I really want to hotspot using this phone, but I've seen several people talking about how T-Mobile blocks tethering on the S5. I plan to root and use Wifi Tether Router, but I have some questions.
Will Wifi Tether Router work since I will be using AT&T instead of T-Mobile? I'm really confused about this tether block thing, is it just blocked on the T-Mobile network specificly or is tethering blocked through ALL network providers on this phone?
I didn't know if it was simply an APN setting or if it was some kind of block integrated into the phone ROM itself.
Thanks,
Dylan
I know you know this now but it works on at&t as that's what I'm using. Same phone and all.

Using wi-fi calling on a G900A on T-mobile

I just now switched from AT&T to T-mobile because I finally got sick of AT&T for various reasons including very high prices. The network lock is removed. How can I get wi-fi calling to work on this phone? When I try to enable it, I get "To enable this service you must confirm your emergency address.". Then I see "Wi-Fi calling lets you make and receive calls over Wi-Fi with your AT&T account. When you use Wi-Fi Calling, information about the country where the Wi-Fi connection is made will be sent to your carrier. Learn more about Wi-Fi Calling.". The last two words are a link to https://m.att.com/shopmobile/wireless/features/wifi-calling.html?referrer=. It seems there's a hangup of AT&T versus T-mobile. What should I be doing to get this working?
In case anyone is wondering, this particular phone is being used because it must be kept unrooted. I have a G900T that has been rooted.
