Specifically for the Galaxy Tab, has anyone tried playing Apple lossless (m4a) files?
The Poweramp application does support apple lossless but only when the device supports it?
PowerAmp will play _standard_ .m4a files, but it might not play Apples slightly _non-standard_ .m4a files.
There's an app called AndLess that'll play them though.
I bought the galaxy tab and installed Poweramp beta and I am blown away with the quality of the sound. I can happily confirm that all my apple lossless files ripped in itunes work flawless ;-)

Try putting it in the music folder? Are the songs that do play in the download folder or somewhere else?

Use something other than the stock Samsung music app. I used to have a captivate and that was one of the first major issues with these phones. Trust me. Put the AOSP app for music on there

Hey, when you play audio, does your audio randomly pop or skip? I've tried Winamp, Doubletwist, AOSP Music app, the Samsung Player, and 3 so far and it sounds like my Fascinate is having trouble finding the resources to reliably play audio.
I've had dumbphones that do the same thing, but I didn't expect it from a smartphone, especially from a Samsung device.
I have an iPod Touch that plays everything fine, but I'm guessing this is more in line with what Apple actually designed it for.
Have no problems with music popping or skipping on my Fascinate. Been using either the stock Samsung music app or cubed player.
Looking for opinions on the best way to get videos (tv shows/movies) on the SGT.
Primarily looking for non-streaming options to view on a flight.
.mp4 works best with the built in media player and will play full hd, i used handbrake to convert some apple trailers to 1024 width and the necessary height pixels with auto aspect correction. They play perfectly. I encoded at 2500kbps. The built in player is really good. Doesn't support 5.1 though. For avi and mkv, rockplayer is the best. Won't play hd though but hopefully the dev is working on it.

Default player is great. But if you want to play everything else then use vplayer.

for $10 bucks catalyst is great for dvds you own to convert them into all kinds of formats it has a SGT preset makes it super EZ.
Or handbrake can do it for free if you have vlc

Rockplayer is free and plays about everything including flv.

I just bought a movie from the samsung media hub and transfered it to my computer. I know I am able to watch it on my tab, but I was wondering if anyone here has heard of a program that can play a pyv file so I can watch it on my computer and possibly also on my tv.
Thanks

If vlc doesn't play it then your probably out of luck...

I tried vlc player and even that doesn't work. Apparently the built in video app on the tab works though...
What kind of music players are people using to play FLAC files? I remember my Vibrant use to play it out of box but my G2 doesn't.

Can anyone tell me how do I make nemo player play srt subtitles with videos??
Sent from my XT720 using XDA App
I'm pretty sure you can't. It doesn't play subtitles unless they're embedded in the video.
I suggest strongly to get another video player vari9
Vplayer, Mobo or other... because so far nemo player is not that good on the tablet... better on the phone actually
I find the sound quality of avi videos to be better on nemo than any other player.....I don't know why this is happening...and there is a clear difference in the sound....the sound is much better.....(comparing with rock player)

Wouldn't know about sound; I usually watch pornz incognito so huff and puff sounds would go over like a fart in church
