I have used black topia and had the same problem with the stability of the program and have been trying other builds have just loaded the super rom by darkstone and would have to say after using for just five min. is the best i have used for simole mobile. After you register on the simple network and go to APN settings simple mobile is already a APN listing just click it and restart you phone and everything works and is a very very fast rom runs from your ram not your sd card and you have to use a data.img in first boot does not creat is own img file but does already have 256mb img file in android folder this one boots super fast in seconds not mins.

Something has corrupted my message notifications, so I no longer recieve sounds for messages and emails etc. Enough though the hot fix addressed the SMS loading thread issue, I bet it has caused the issue I currently have, as I havent installed anything else. The SMS loading issue may have been annoying at times, but there were easy work arounds. Not hearing or feeling when a message comes in is damn annoying!
After installing this hotfix on my phone, I downloaded my archived messages (about 2000 of them) and tried the SMS tab. Everything worked great, apart from the known and reported issues about the display going a little odd when it had loaded all messages.
Everything was fine and then my phone suddenly started running slower than my old HD used to. Everything was stuttering and laggy, and I mean the whole phone - not just the SMS tab.
After numerous restarts and turning things off and on again, I finally re-archived all my text messages so that there were none on the phone and guess what.... it's fine again now.
The hot"fix" wasn't so hot if you ask me.

I'm using 1.48 official. I'm gonna leave it till 1.6 comes out before I choose whether or not to go unofficial.
I'm not sure what this thread is about, but I recently got my HD2 and it won't send all my SMS. Is this what the patch is for?

It does look nice, but I'd probably turn it off straight away as I'd never use it!
Its available in the Middle eastern website
I sent an email on the HTC Website and I got a reply that Hot Fix was pulled out because of compatibility issues.
Edit: by the way, they said a new one will be released soon.

change default store location of SMS and MMS messages to sd card

I searched the forums and found there are apps to backup the SMS messages didnt see anything for MMS but that isnt really what I want. I text a lot well my girlfriend texts me a lot and I would like to have them all defaultly saved to my sd card so when im flashing the phone so many times trying different ROMS and themes and of course crashing my phone It would be nice if all the texts i get where defaultly saved to my SD card and would just see them after changing the location.
Oh and ty to anyone who helps with this.
You can create a Symlink and put it into the aps2sd script for it to work.
There are 3 threads I think about this that I have pointed that out in....not getting up set just saying. They probably are hard to find.
I sent TrevE a PM a few days ago before the damage 2.0.8 release came out and asked if he would be willing to add this to his app for JIT and A2sd. Last I heard he would try it.
ATM there is nothing else you can do.
TY for the info I didnt see the post thou i looked didnt get much when typing sms mms sd card just got a lot of use app X to backup and that isnt what I was looking for.
I will be posting on the one of the of the other forms that has this information and looks good for what Im looking for

The link you posted really only addresses MMS send and receive issues relating to incorrect APN settings.
A fix for the compressed MMS issue is listed on Page 3 (Comment 25), but the instructions are only achievable if you have a Linux box. Plus you have to delete your old data.img and do a fresh install.
BetaBoy,
The poor quality MMS issue is discussed more in-depth on this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774672
The problem is only affecting Desire builds and is not an issue on the standalone Froyo builds.
Now there are two ways to fix the compressed MMS issue.
Option 1:
1. Download ES File Explorer from the market, install
2. Go to ./system/etc/ directory and look for a file called "mm_property.conf", open the file to edit.
3. Change the wapprofile=" to "http://www.htcmms.com.tw/Android/common/NexusOne/ua-profile.xml"
4. Save the changes
If that is too complicated, then the following option is for you! I went with option 2 because I am not proficient with file explorers and I couldn't figure out how to correctly access the system directory...
(Please note, with this method you have to delete your old data.img and do a fresh install)
Option 2:
Go to this thread and download the corrected data.img.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774672
(Also note, Chiasoft has only corrected FroyoStone Sense V2 and Mattc Froyo Sense 1.7)
If you send him a PM, maybe he can put together a data.img for your setup.
And Betaboy, what the hell are you running 2.1 for anyway?
No need for any of that
The problem was fixed i just went into Messages>settings>Custom User Agent>Nokia N95
Problems Slved!

You aren't running the sense Build; Vanilla Android has different fixes. If it's a CM port, then you can modify the UA within the MMS app.
On another thought: Sense is "prettier" looking on that nice 4.3" display on the HD2 than stock Android, no matter how you theme it, imo.

ROM 3.14

I read in another forum that the official release will be another week or so due to some tweaking they want to do to the ROM.
I don't know if this is accurate or not (and I do not have alink to the forum where I read this...I read too many forums), but I think I may wait for the official release.

when 2.13 was leaked it was exactly the same as the one that was released. I'm guessing this will be the same deal. Doesn't hurt to wait though.
3.14 is amazingly stable in my opinion...loads faster than 2.13 to boot!
I didn't wait.
I've been pleasantly surprised by how stable it's been. I've had maybe one or two freezes since the install and that was on day one. Since then it's been rock solid. Even the HTC messaging has been lag free.
It will be some time before I think about switching back to custom ROMs. Although I do miss all those nice features that nrgz has in his builds...
I'll probably install the official release if they've made any tweaks.
I love reading this and am not a patient man, but on the tmo forum (I finally figured out where I read it) they note puling it back for a few more tweaks.
probably bs, but who knows.
I know I should just dicer in with a link from here as I did last time, but I just did a fresh wipe and reinstall a few weeks back due to exchange server policy enforcement and subsequent lock out and thought maybe to wait...just in case.
thanks for the kind responses though!
There is a major flaw. my head phones do not work with this rom. i tested it twice and then had to go back to retail to confirm that my head phone did not become defective. im sure they will review and fix this issue. the speed is the same i can confirm. it needs some more tweaks none the less.
3.14 has been working fine so far. However, my lock screen picture is now stretched. It's driving me insane!!
Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be happening because of something other than the new rom update?
Does anyone know how to adjust lock screen pictures? I can't seem to find any options.
How do you install the .exe file?
What .exe file? The ROM itself? You connect your phone via USB to your computer, let it sync, then run the .exe from your computer to install the ROM on your phone. Read the stickies for exact instructions.

maybe something was wrong apart from the rom, because both stock and my custom roms worked fine... i listen to audi via headphones twice a day every single day... and my headphones work
the rom is a little faster and there are new GUI designs
when i used it as a custom rom, i had no issues. but the moment i used xmoo version of 3.14 i would always get the same issue. i connect head phones and i dont hear anyone talking via phone calls. also for some reason, they are always on speaker phone even if the option is not enable.
can you please link me the version of rom you are using?

God what a huge improvement everything is. I unplugged it from power last night around midnight and left it next to my bed while I slept. With WiFi on. It's now 10 hours later, I've toyed with it for about an hour, and the battery is at 90%.
Unfortunately, HTC Messaging + Swype doesn't appear to be a lot better. Maybe a little, in terms of the initial lag when replying to a msg. Also, when a new msg comes in and you hit the message tab, the thumbnail isn't always the current msg.
Emails look a TON different. Much smaller text = YAY!
Knucklehead noobie here... Where do I get the updated ROM from? Thanks.
Does flashing a new ROM delete all your text messages and stuff?
ranestari, yes it does.
However, just sign up for the Microsoft MyPhone thing (free, and if you already have a live account, you're good to go.) The MyPhone app is in your start menu.
It will back up (sync) all of your texts and pics to their online space, only accessible by you (http://myphone.microsoft.com)
When you flash the rom, just launch the MyPhone app again, log in etc... and it will sync all your texts back to your phone.
There are third party sync options out there, but I've never seen the point.
After flashing 3.14 to my HTC HD2, Microsoft My Phone no longer can synchronize with my computer. It just gets stuck at Authenticating User.
Anybody else have this problem?
Microsoft MyPhone doesn't sync with your computer. It syncs to the cloud (internet). Just put in your live, msn, hotmail or whatever account you configured it with before you flashed, and it should resync.

Can you elaborate on this? My main frustration with the current rom is the stupid HTC messaging client with swype. I absolutely despise this thing and I tried disabling it and going back to the old windows messaging but that didn't go too well (unread counter never resets.. OMFG so frustrating!). My only hope is that they fix this crap in the new rom.
Is the lag when loading texts still ridiculous? Is it at least somewhat better? Why haven't they figured this out, this is just pure crazy in my opinion. A company of that magnitude can't figure out how to fix one of the most basic applications in the phone. this is absurd.
I personally HATE Swype and disable it evertime I flash to a new ROM or come in contact with someone thats got an HD2 with it enabled, but what I can say is that while HTC Messageing in the new ROM is "faster" its also just as slow. What I mean is that (for me anyways) it no longer lags when I get a new text, but its just as slow to load a thread if it has any ammount of messages in it. Personally I don't find HTC Messageing to be all that bad if you just delete your threads every now and then, but thats just me.

[Q] installed android, a couple of questions

So this is my first time doing anything like this to a phone, I believe I installed it to the rom? its the nexus one gingerbread rom. whenever I turn it on it goes straight to android. I was just having a couple of problems and was wondering if they were just something to do with the fact that I have an unofficial install and there's bound to be bugs or if they're android problems with remedies. One thing is after having my phone on for a while the messaging app starts to lag. the keyboard takes a while to pull up and when I try to send a message it hangs, deleting threads doesn't help but its fixed if I reboot. The other thing is when I get picture messages the picture is really blurry, its almost like, its zoomed in too far but I can't zoom out. I've looked the problem up and apparently it was really common on the tmobile nexus ones (I have a tmobile HD2) but it was fixed in one of the updates. As far as I can tell I have the most recent update but if anyone could throw some input it'd be much appreciated
Never used the ROM you did and never experienced the problemes you had.
So can't really help. I would suggest you try more ROMs before you find the one for you.

i know it would be quite time consuming but alot of times there are quirks in the roms like the blurry MMS and if you look through the forum that you downloaded the rom from i bet youll find the answer to these issues.. maybe even post the questions on the forum. these roms are awesome becasue you have the choice of sooo many styles. there is a post called the Nand Bible in the Nand General section that shows a good variety of different ROMs to try. For Tmo i use the Glacier < aka mytouch 4g rom > by MotoMan and its a great rom and built for tmobile spacifically so is really nice all the settings match right away.
i hope this helps some..
I would just try some other ROMS, a lot of people jump around until they find one that suites them best. I know in some ROMs the blurry MMS is a known issue, and you get that pixel-ridden "low res" look.
When looking at the ROMs, generally they'll post a small "Whats working/whats not" type of section, which may give you a preview of what your getting into. Remember to follow the devs instructions for flashing for the best results.
